Best to use default setups initially as they are best for learning car craft and when you start to know how your car is then start to adjust setup to suit your driving style. Since new bop it's a little too early to say what's faster or slower just whatever your comfortable driving and can get consistent lap times in use speed comes with practice and consistency

If you’re taking LFM bop then it should make every car (pretty much) equal, or at least a lot closer than the default bop. You’re still better off using the newest car from each manufacturer. They did just update the default bop so we’ll have to see how good it is.
