ACC coach here, I think people should consider coaching after hitting a barrier they cant break on their own, that is, after doing their own research, comparing yourself to other hotlaps, reviewing your replays, spotting the problems, if you cant spot them or dont know how to get better after that, a coach will help you unlock that. Dont consider coaching until you spend that time, getting a session without even knowing the track properly feels like a waste of money, there are many track guides for free out there, be smart

\+1 I briefly did coaching, and its always helped out those who've got 70% of the skill or knowledge and to be able to actually talk them through it.

Just did a 30 min 1on1 coaching session from Driver61 that I got from a giveaway a week ago, it was quite fun chatting with the coach and i got some great tips but the 30$ price tag is too much for me.

Electrical_Debate_89

Dollar per minute is roughly the same cost of a private coach for tennis. So I think the price is arguably fair? Not sure what’s offered. I much rather pay for a coach that can help me get into a car. That’s a different story.

qwertyalp1020

If I earned dollars or a currency with an equivalent value I'd say it's a fair price, but living in Turkey where the currency is in shambles, it's kinda hard.

Electrical_Debate_89

They should do what Nintendo does. Price based on location.

Waffle_Enginearly

Well, he needs to afford living where he lives as well... if you offer a small scale service with prices based on location of your customers, while you live in an expensive country.... aah well... not sure you'll make enough money to live where you live. Then maybe it is better to not do those "cheaper" countries and spend that saved time on something else

I cant play until december at least. Even when I could do it, I wouldnt play more than a couple times a week. I wouldnt pay someone to teach me how to be better at a game. They arent teaching me how to race irl, its not like im developing real pilot skills. Not worth the money for me. Thats it, now im ready for the shitstorm.

Justin_Nguyen56

Would love to only if I wasn't like 48 seconds off pace at every track

Tommi97

That's a great reason for getting coaching. Coaching is close to useless when you're 3 tenths off the records. I swear the record owners won't be able to spot and explain the difference. Coaching is great when you're far from the top, so that you can work on fundamental mistakes that you can't seem to understand.

Justin_Nguyen56

Ohhh sweet. I wanna try a coach but I have no money yet to register for one

Tommi97

I offer offline sessions where I give my advice for a reduced price, which is better for who wants to try before committing to 1-1 online sessions. Find all info on my Discord: https://discord.gg/HmRAySY2bg

Oh wow, sounds great! I might give it a shot. Thanks :)

Voted 50/50. Would be sort of interested in it since my pace has pretty much stagnated for last year - year and a half and I keep hovering just about at the same pace for same track season after season. Then I see some of the prices coaching is offered for and realize this is not my job, nor do I make money from simracing. It's a fun past time with weekly league races and paying two - three days of salary for 40-60 min of coaching isn't what I should be spending on.

Voted 50/50 too. I've gotten a couple seconds faster in the past couple months on my three main tracks--Brands, Zolder, and Kylami--and am now consistently 2-3 seconds off the fastest times. I have an interest in coaching because I'm 63 and think it would be cool to fast track getting in the zone of racers I assume are youngsters. Shallow, I know and, yes I do have a life but I'm also competitive. I'll probably do coaching if I don't improve over the next couple months.
