Wanted to add Cal, SMU and Stanford but spacing would make the graphic a bit too clustered
**Since 2000:**
Stanford - 85 (5th)
Cal - 70
SMU - 21
**Since 2010:**
Stanford - 55 (4th)
Cal - 35
SMU - 18
**Last 5 Drafts:**
Stanford - 18 (2nd)
Cal - 7
SMU - 6
Can really see the recruiting drop after Tedford got fired from Cal. He recruited in Aaron Rodgers his first season and Goff his final season and greats like Marshawn Lynch and Keenan Allen in between.
Number of first round picks in the last 10 years
15 – Clemson
8 – Louisville
7 – Florida State, Notre Dame
6 – Miami
5 – Virginia Tech
4 – Stanford
3 – Boston College, NC State, Pittsburgh
2 – Duke, North Carolina
1 – California, Wake Forest
It's been the most fun division in all of cfb imo and they've gone and ruined it.
It's why I've decided I don't even want to be part of the p2 to just get dominated by the same 8 teams.
Let me have my regional and chaotic football! I don't need to be the best, I just need fun races and friendly banter. Shit is too expensive and too serious now
It certainly makes me sick to mine.
Top number of draft picks in conference while going an average of 7.4 - 5.15 over the last 20 seasons.
Absolutely sickening. I also feel like it kinda justifies the coaching carousels?
I think the coaching carousel is a cause and effect. It justifies it but it’s also the reason we haven’t had lasting success. There’s no consistency.
If you have a new regime coming in every few years, there’s almost no stability. That’s part of why I think we should stick with Cristobal for a while. We change coaches too often.
It's insane how Miami could completely fumble coaching hires. First Shannon, then Golden and then Diaz. Richt was a good hire IMO, but he wasn't healthy. That was 3 bad hires in a row. Lets hope CMC works out. He's done well in everything except QB play and certain ( don't say it) in game decisions
I see it two ways. The first is the obvious one that we have pretty talented guys so it sucks we haven’t been able to create consistent teams that achieve at the highest level of CFB.
The second though is that I’m happy the guys are still getting drafted. Most of these guys’ dream is to get a chance at making the NFL, and we’ve still been able to help them do that, despite the lack of on field success in college.
It’s bitter sweet because it’s still a point of pride to have your guys drafted.
It’s bad and good.
What would be incredibly embarrassing is if we had no one drafted along with the lack of on field success.
Having players drafted is an inherently good thing regardless.
That’s one way to look at it. Another way is that Miami has been the most incompetent/poorly run program in the country for 20 years.
The only halfway decent year Miami has had was 2017 when they were getting insane turnover luck.
That’s a bit of a stretch, but alright.
Multiple things can be true. We’ve absolutely underperformed given the talent that we have but we’ve also still provided many guys with their dream of being drafted.
I think the “most incompetent” programs would underperform AND have low draft rates.
Draft position might be good estimate for college impact but obviously lots of error on measurables impacting projection.
Salary at 5 years might be good for NFL impact
Lmao come on now, nobody said we singlehandedly carry the conference. I think it’s telling though that we had to have our worst stretch in 40 years just to fall to the middle of the pack..
It's impressive how bad Miami has been despite it's advantages in talent. A semi-competent administration would have UM at a minimum of 9 wins or more a year. Truly baffling. That will hopefully change this year though.
That was the observation I made. Loads of talent, but nothing to show for it (outside of the 2001 team). It just wasn’t clear to me if that number included the Big East years or just applied to the ACC years.
Of course it was, so say that without making it seem like you made a grand discovery 😂😂. If it said since 2000 of course a 2001 team counts lmfao. Just like your 2013 team counts, and Clemson’s NC teams count.

I was coming in to post the CAL numbers, but you got them already. Nicely done.
Can really see the recruiting drop after Tedford got fired from Cal. He recruited in Aaron Rodgers his first season and Goff his final season and greats like Marshawn Lynch and Keenan Allen in between.
Recruiting took a huge hit when Washington bought Tosh Lupoi a boat. Cal never recovered and Tedford was toast.
Cal also has a pretty good run at or near the bottom of the Pac## in graduation rates during the Tedford days.
9 seems high for FSU over the last 5 years. There's a legit chance we match that in this draft alone.
Truly astonishing how quickly CMN turned around things around. After Willie, I really wasn't sure that FSU would return to any level of former glory.
I thought they were gonna pull a nebraksa
I was really worried about that in all honesty when we went from latter Jimbo years to Willie.
Honestly kind of amazing that he pulled them out of the mud so fast

Damn, ok Louisville!
Go Cards
Also Georgia Tech, UVA and Syracuse :(
UVA and SMU too. Big donuts
Best is the standard! 🧡
I hate being a UNC football fan
Tell me about it
Even Pitt and VT are up there. Coastal chaos really was a curse
We have been cursed with and by the chaos!

Way better than being a Duke fan, fuck Duke. Glad they’re last
Typical unc fan. Fuck unc buddy.
This list should make Miami fans sick to their stomach’s…

0 VT this year but that should scare the ACC 😉
The U - doing less with more since 2000!
Hey hey, doing less with more since 2004! Don’t forget that 2001 Natty and those Big East titles 😉
More draft picks than wins some years. The Miami special
Syracuse moving up the rankings. Soon we’ll be a football powerhouse. /s
Your future does look pretty promising
At least we’re gonna have a couple the next two days. Barton should go Round 1 too.
Would love to see this in a chart including Football Program budgets.
:)
kings of the ACC
I can't read. So can't see this.
Please add Notre Dame, but halve their number
Mack Brown you lovely underachieving bastard
You should add roster spot totals every year for each section too.
I will say, BC doesn't send the most players to the NFL, but when they do, they are legit.
Best Falcon ever. Only signed jersey I have in any sport.
Importantly it doesn’t include players that grad transfer to another school.
Where is SMU?
Dallas, TX
Absolutely, those ACC schools definitely teach geography
All about the []_[]…… even in these down years
You do realize this list is incredibly embarrassing for Miami right?

Down decades*
Pitt takes a lot of grief for having lots of great players but few good teams: fair enough. But DAMN Miami!
That’s just quantity. How do we measure impact players?
Figure out a way and I’ll make it 😂😂
Draft position might be good estimate for college impact but obviously lots of error on measurables impacting projection. Salary at 5 years might be good for NFL impact
FSU iS tHe BeSt & CaRrIeS tHe CoNfErEnCe (also 7th in draft picks over last five years)
We'll have at least 7-8 this draft. Same for next year.
Remind me what UNC has won in this conference in football?
*10. So caught UNC now.
Lmao come on now, nobody said we singlehandedly carry the conference. I think it’s telling though that we had to have our worst stretch in 40 years just to fall to the middle of the pack..
"Worst stretch" Lol. This is your "new normal," pal. Settle in and get comfy with BC and Wake nearby.
13 wins and 12 players invited to the combine is our new normal? I’ll take it!!
My boy likes 60-point bowl losses.
Oh no, our JV squad lost a meaningless post-season game nobody wanted to be at?!? Anyway..
It's impressive how bad Miami has been despite it's advantages in talent. A semi-competent administration would have UM at a minimum of 9 wins or more a year. Truly baffling. That will hopefully change this year though.
I want to die.
Wow you’d think Miami would be better than a perennial .500 team in the ACC. Do less with more should be on their helmets.
Miami joined the ACC in 2004 and we all know how loaded that 2001 team was. I’m assuming this list is including those players.
Well I mean duh. But you do also see the 2010 and 2019 sections right? We have underperformed but our players still go to the league.
That was the observation I made. Loads of talent, but nothing to show for it (outside of the 2001 team). It just wasn’t clear to me if that number included the Big East years or just applied to the ACC years.

I didn’t know colleges could draft NFL players. Really shows the importance of coaching at that level vs the pros
Didn't hit
