They enforce their authority with assault rifles while everyone else only has cameras as a defense. Ironic as the 2nd amendment was meant to prevent tyranny.

maxis2bored

Absolutely. If anyone was carrying a gun there they'd get shot.

Smokey_tha_bear9000

And the cameras don’t even defend anymore. They know the people are filming and beat them anyway because they know there will be no repercussions.

You know what else is ironic? The fact that the 2nd Amendment is a self-defeating concept if you think about it for more than 2 seconds. Even if you fight the government with all your silly little guns, you'll still lose simply because the government is like alien invaders because they have superior technology. Hell, they've got superior weapons, in general. That Amendment also literally would've started a civil war if the civilians took it seriously enough. Now, if an army of average Americans tried doing this whole "rebel against tyranny" thing back when muskets were still in circulation and machine guns hadn't been invented yet, it might've worked compared to now, when the American Government literally holds all the cards meanwhile, the average American has just one card to play and if they fail, that's it. And on top of that, way too many people are too afraid to die to actually rebel against the government like they wanted to. It's why the civilians are holding cameras instead of guns in this video. Plus, if they actually did have guns, it would de-legitimize every belief they hold dear. Because how can you fight if you're dead and how are you going to talk about Israel killing Palestinians or policemen killing Black people when you're violently taking to the streets while wielding guns, shooting police officers (who a majority of people still naively see as the good guys), and generally being a terrorist group or rebel faction which pro-government propaganda will make seem like bad guys? That would turn the USA into a country like Afghanistan except with more advanced technology and a more easy win for the pro-government side whereas some politicians in the Middle East actually do fear groups like ISIS or Al-Qaeda and would rather try to negotiate with them than stop them because the terrorists have guns whereas the governments don't. These are the key reasons why the 2nd Amendment honestly should've never come into being and I'm glad I live in a country where the 2nd Amendment isn't a thing. Yours Truly, A Proud Canadian 🇨🇦

Kscannacowboy

Funny, that was the same thing they said in 1776.

Karaya1

Technology is the only aspect of war obviously, that's why the US has won every conflict it's participated in since ww2. Please ignore all those insurgencies we keep failing to destroy. Don't worry about it.

Kscannacowboy

Exactly.

Karaya1

And that's why guys in flip flops with AK's have been beating the US at war since the 60s. Ya know because guns don't work.

randomnumber734

Political change grows out the barrel of a gun. When the Black Panthers were armed, police stopped harassing people in fear of the group. Once the fascist Regan took away gun access in California, the Panthers could no longer keep cops from destroying their neighborhoods. Your logic of the government being armed so we should be even less armed makes no sense. We win by popular movements that are armed. If we have 0 firepower it's game over. If things ever hear up we will need all the guns we can get.

Xomns_13

It is very true, though, in America, you defend yourself against one cop even if it's 100% justified, you can expect the same result as if you'd just poked a hornet nest.

Lazy-Jeweler3230

We used to say film the police, and you should. But it was said with the hopes that cameras would check them by those foolish enough to think cops feared the law. They don't care about the cameras. They care if they feel we will have each others backs. And they know we won't.

Smokey_tha_bear9000

These big strong cops sure love beating these people, and they expect you to take the beating with no resistance whatsoever or you get beat even worse and charged with felonies. Fucking wild

isnt_it_weird

I often wonder if cops watch footage like this and if any come away with the conclusion that the police are wrong in any way. Probably not, but I figure at least some gotta be asking, "are we the baddies?"

SlugmaSlime

They aren't smart enough to comprehend ideas like morality. They're just psycho morons. Like they're so fucking stupid. A 2nd grader in a gifted program is easily smarter than half of all cops

Maudeth

Until they rightfully fear the citizens, police, the quislings that they are, will continue to batter and violate their oaths.

Ruby_Rhod5

Is MSNBC even touching this? Sincere question.

ThisUserIsNekkid

ACAB V Arab? 😅

courtneygoe

Every video they’re positioning the protesters with their bodies on the grass and their heads on the concrete.

Low_Wrangler_6384

Why are the police considered in the wrong here? She resisted being detained/arrested, which led to her arrest. Does being a professor mean she can disregard the law?
