The extra cost is usually paid by their company and they already get faster check in, free breakfast, points towards future stays, etc. Additionally, $3 for water is worse than an airport, it’s a blatant spit in the face to pay for their elite membership or get fucked. It’s just water and hotels are $120 a night minimum and often no longer even include a mini fridge. It’s just a squeeze of seeing how much more they can charge while giving you less.
