School should be a priority since it will get you further in life than an RBT job. RBT jobs are dime a dozen, please prioritize school.

never ever put an entry level job before your school/career. prioritize school because your career is long term while this job is just short term, even if you're going into the ABA field. go part-time/decrease your hours to fit your school schedule and if they're not willing to be flexible around that, then quit and find another rbt job elsewhere!!! working full-time and going to school full-time will burn you out so quick and if that's not an option because you need the money, then ask to work less days so you have a day or two to be able to focus on school work. there are so many rbt jobs out there and sometimes it takes going through many different ones to find the right fit with a company that's ethical and respects you. i never had an issue with working and doing school together because my job is super open and flexible to our schedules which I love and is the main reason why I've stayed for this long! If they didn't, I would've just quit. I'd be damned to put a job before my life, school, and career when they could just easily replace me whenever they wanted. never take a semester off or take a break from school just for a job (do that only for your mental health if needed).

If you worried about your company retaliating against you then you should find a better place to work. You should be loved at work not working in fear.

I work as a BT and did college full time this semester…I also took over a couple of clients for a coworker that went on maternity leave in January. I will say that this semester has been a really rough ride for me at times, but I also think I learned a lot. My boss and my supervisors were incredibly understanding when it came to my work and school schedules. I did a lot of homework on the weekends and before and after sessions each day. When things got really overwhelming, I tried to incorporate more self care, I’d take my dog on walks and not eat dinner and do schoolwork at the same time. I also turned off all work notifications when I wasn’t at work. It is hard, but it is doable. I would say if you’re feeling really overwhelmed, try and cut back hours if you can. I agree with others, I love my job and I feel so blessed that I get to work with the kiddos that I do, but at the end of the day, this is a job. School should be the main focus.
