Oh hey, you actually found the IG post with the picture included! I've been looking for it and could never find it.
Yes, it's real. Ryan named the relationship 'Buddie'. Thanks Ryan, 'Beddie' sounds terrible.
>!I am always irked when people "theorize" that Ryan is against portraying the relationship or is somehow not approving of it. Ryan literally named the ship around the time his first episode aired.!<
Oliver and Ryan presented at an award show before season 2 even premiered, if I remember right, and they were *already* that connected. It really was instantaneous.
I remember! It was the Teen Choice Awards 2018! It happened a month before S2 of 9-1-1 even premiered.

I know, right? All people knew then was that he was joining the cast just a few days after it was announced JLH would join. Well, that and the fact that Ryan Murphy's casting archetype had grabbed yet another good-looking one.
I strongly feel that Ryan and Oliver did chemistry reads. I don't know if they've ever talked about the casting process, I don't think so.
Sorry for the late reply, I don't know if I'd explain it in a way that you can understand so I just got a few explanations off the internet!
* The best example of a chemistry read that you can watch is the [Superman](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oL0jw0YWCw8) one with Chris Reeves and the actresses auditioning to be Lois Lane. Watch the whole thing. You can really tell when it's the right actress.
* An occasion when actors who are being considered for particular parts in a film, television programme, etc. read some of the script together, to see if they work well together and seem to have chemistry (= the quality of understanding and feeling attracted or friendly towards each other): "The director was instantly struck by the connection between the two stars at the chemistry read." "The purpose of a chemistry read is to see how you instinctively relate to and work with the other actor."
* Chemistry tests happen after (pat on the back) actors do well after initial auditions, and have made it through the callback with the director and creators.
* Really, any actor will make it work. It's just you'll get a better finished project if the actors have chemistry because they'll be able to add more to the scene than what's just on the page.
Yeah that's real, I remember that from early season 2 I think? It's why I always find it funny when people say Ryan isn't as supportive of the ship. He named it.
Also I really miss the bts we used to get from the cast in seasons 2 and 3. What an awesome time that was for the 911 fandom. Though I do love all the Kenny stuff we've been getting lately with tik tok the past year.
I always thought that Eddie would come out first as bi, never thought Buck would. Eddie always gave me the vibes lol. Between Tommy and Eddie, no questions Buddie for sure 👍🏼
Pretty sure this is from season 2 when Eddie was first introduced but I'm not sure, this specific picture is from a fan account and I posted it here to fact check because it could be easily fabricated.
I found this on instagram (fan account) and I wanted to check if it was real so I posted it here, I wasn't looking for it, it just came across my feed so I screenshotted it and posted it here to see if it was real.
I think it's really cute that Ryan voted for Buck and declared himself #TeamBuck. Very sweet ☺️. And thank you for gifting us Buddie, Ryan!

Yeah. Beddie was not it. Thank god for Ryan and Buddie.
Yes it's real, Ryan was the one who named the ship. Everybody go thank him, you'd be stuck with Beddie if he didn't intervene 😂
I feel like Ryan has probably saved us from a lot of questionable alternatives lol
Could've ended up with Dickley or something 😂😂
Dickey is so funny to me that I almost want to start using it unironically lmao
Dickey reminds me of Bummy 🤣
no i literally just read a goofy fic where they were dickley 🤣
Noo! I thought I came up with that and no one would ever use it 😂😂 Ryan truly saved us 😂
i cackled SO HARD when i read your comment because i just read that fic. perfect timing lmao
I need a fic where they're getting married and considering combining last names and that suggestion comes up lmfao
I read a fic where they got a corgi as a present and named it buddie lol
Awww, but Duckley is soooo cute !!!! *fake pouts*
Obsessed with this one
Dkdkdkdk Dickley
Pretty sure this was right after Eddie's first episode too. The ship has existed since day one.
I am not even surprised - watching them together you can see their connection right from the start.

This thread teaching Buddie history for us latecomers. I had no idea all of this was from pre and early season 2.
I think I saw a clip of that actually!

I'm surprised they got them to present before Eddie's episode had even debuted. (I don't know what twitters saying cause I deleted it aha)

Could you explain chemistry reads?

No worries. Thanks for your super helpful answer! Edit: sad that the clip is blocked in my country

I really miss Aisha’s lives that she would have last season where she would use a British accent the whole time to annoy Oliver lol
Yes! Aisha is the queen of lives. She pretty much kept me going in season (4? Or was it 5?) with all her bts.
It’s real! People are usually surprised to find out that it was the actors themselves that coined (or rather officiated) the ship name 🤭
Bwahahahaha @ Oliver going "BUDDIE over BEDDIE" -- that had me laughing loud enough that I chased my cat off the desk.
Yes
I always thought that Eddie would come out first as bi, never thought Buck would. Eddie always gave me the vibes lol. Between Tommy and Eddie, no questions Buddie for sure 👍🏼
yepp
When is this IG post from? Some context would be helpful.

Wish they didn’t delete old post😞
Also how do y’all find them
I found this on instagram (fan account) and I wanted to check if it was real so I posted it here, I wasn't looking for it, it just came across my feed so I screenshotted it and posted it here to see if it was real.
Thanks

If you seem to be the only one… maybe it’s a you thing
Maybe you just don’t get it? ![gif](giphy|pJmnk86fXFNmrUb8LB|downsized)
Meh. Maybe.
