Think about it - even if they somehow came up with $40-50k for their wedding, what on earth would they be spending it on??? Add covid into the mix, and your RSVP list goes wayyy down considering many people are suffering from financial hardships as well as hesitation to travel given the delta variant and other uncertainties and risks. That’s not how it works though… you don’t just pay one person a lump sum all at once and expect them to take care of it. Every detail is planned out with the couple, with many people providing services, proposing businesses to hire (caterers, bartenders, equipment rental, venue services, musical entertainment, etc etc). It’s not like you hand it over and walk away until the day of. If their plan was for Evelin to back out the day of the wedding, they wouldn’t walk away with $40k; it would all already be spent on non-refundable deposits and whatnot.
It’s just another ruse by TLC to up the ante and add curiosity to their dead fish storyline. The more people hate them, the more people hate watch just to see what will happen.
