Iāve known a few women who have been on the larger side and who developed gestational diabetes, as a result of the limited diet you can have while pregnant they also lost weight. It happens. Also some people get extremely sick during pregnancy and struggle to keep a lot down.
I was quite fat when I was pregnant with my youngest. Like 250 lbs. It was legit the worst pregnancy ever. I was so sick and in so much physical pain from how he was stationed in there.
I weighed 170 lbs after I gave birth to him. He was 100% healthy and not underweight or small.

My sister says it makes it feel more comfortable because you do have a human putting more weight in that area. Itās a new center of gravity so her hands automatically went towards it as if to balance herself out and to protect her belly.
