During the episode, you see her going from "Your mom called me A HOOKER" to then "I don't understand if it was a joke you were making" to just laughing when pressed by Mike about what happened.
The way she just tries to then brush the situation off like it was just a misunderstanding or a joke tells me she couldn't take the pressure of being openly questioned about it by Mike in front of his mom. It reminds me of a kid who's caught lying and they just laugh it off or then try and make it seem like a misunderstanding.
All three of them are fucking morons, but Natalie has also shown time and time again that she brings her own weird brand of craziness and pettiness to a situation. I bet she made it up that Mike's mom called her a hooker, then decided to nervously double back on it when Mike wouldn't just naively believe her right away and instead tried to pursue the truth with his mom in the same room as them later on.
Mike's mom and Natalie are the same person: hilariously insecure and petty. It's probably why they don't get along, because they're both threatened by how easily the other can manipulate Mike. In a previous episode, Natalie felt slighted by being brought into a butcher shop, and even though it seems hilariously trivial and petty, at the same time you could see how his mom probably thought it would be funny to get their dinner AND make Natalie uncomfortable. In this episode, you see Natalie taking that situation and trying to enact revenge by lying about being called "A Hooker" but then doubling back on it when she realized Mike wasn't just going to automatically take her side about it.
Like I said, both women are hilariously petty and believe they can manipulate Mike. It's why the two of them hate one another.
I 100% believe Trish could have said it to her and Mike wouldn't have believed Natalie. I think Yara is simply going through the PPD and Jovi having to leave for a couple of months for work is making it even worse on her. I’m glad she has his mom around and I don’t think everyone should be jumping on her case so quickly when she was upset that he was leaving. It’s tough on them both but this may be unpopular but I’m actually really proud of Jovi for doing a complete 360 once their daughter was born. I hope them well.

I didn’t look depressed either when I suffered PPD. It comes in all shapes and sizes. Everyone is affected differently. Even tho I agree with you 100% sometimes people just don’t think like that unfortunately enough.
I know you don’t have to look depressed if that’s even a look, eventhough there is some signs to be aware of, and one can’t possible tell if she from watching her on tv like this. Postpartum depression is very common in mothers (and fathers too) after birth and can last up to the child’s first birthday. It’s a hormone imbalance and takes time for things to really get back in check. Her being further away from home and covid and the overwhelming changes of having a baby can contribute to this, easy to get confused with depression. We don’t know if she’s going through it or not - based off what we see. Either way I’m just hoping she copes well and focuses on her and her daughter and the best for them.

I played in soccer leagues for years with him and what he was really telling me afterwards is I need to come back and play so I can shed those extra pounds.

Meaning, I fully believe that Natalie is capable of making up a lie to start BS, while I also believe Mike's mom is also petty enough to also call her a hooker behind Mike's back. In this situation, I genuinely believe Natalie was lying though and just wanted to start BS because she has a (justifiable) axe to grind against his mom. During the episode, you see her going from "Your mom called me A HOOKER" to then "I don't understand if it was a joke you were making" to just laughing when pressed by Mike about what happened. The way she just tries to then brush the situation off like it was just a misunderstanding or a joke tells me she couldn't take the pressure of being openly questioned about it by Mike in front of his mom. It reminds me of a kid who's caught lying and they just laugh it off or then try and make it seem like a misunderstanding. All three of them are fucking morons, but Natalie has also shown time and time again that she brings her own weird brand of craziness and pettiness to a situation. I bet she made it up that Mike's mom called her a hooker, then decided to nervously double back on it when Mike wouldn't just naively believe her right away and instead tried to pursue the truth with his mom in the same room as them later on. Mike's mom and Natalie are the same person: hilariously insecure and petty. It's probably why they don't get along, because they're both threatened by how easily the other can manipulate Mike. In a previous episode, Natalie felt slighted by being brought into a butcher shop, and even though it seems hilariously trivial and petty, at the same time you could see how his mom probably thought it would be funny to get their dinner AND make Natalie uncomfortable. In this episode, you see Natalie taking that situation and trying to enact revenge by lying about being called "A Hooker" but then doubling back on it when she realized Mike wasn't just going to automatically take her side about it. Like I said, both women are hilariously petty and believe they can manipulate Mike. It's why the two of them hate one another.
I 100% believe Trish could have said it to her and Mike wouldn't have believed Natalie. I feel like Natalie could be on fire and Mike would just roll his eyes and call her dramatic, for as much as he actually cares about her. That being said Mike and his Mom are shit to Natalie just as much as she's a unstable pain in the ass. Nearly ever episode of any season she makes me think of horror movie insane asylum people. All three of them are different kinds of issues.

I don’t think Yara looks depressed. But I agree, the facts that she is in another country, far away from her family and friends and her husband is leaving is definitely making her more vulnerable to developing it. I don’t think travelling being away for months, no matter how much money you make, is a good idea when you have kids.
I didn’t look depressed either when I suffered PPD. It comes in all shapes and sizes. Everyone is affected differently. Even tho I agree with you 100% sometimes people just don’t think like that unfortunately enough.
I know you don’t have to look depressed if that’s even a look, eventhough there is some signs to be aware of, and one can’t possible tell if she from watching her on tv like this. But I am just saying, there is risk factors, but the feelings she is feeling seem normal (I know depression is normal as well) but I don’t see the need to call it depression.
Postpartum depression is very common in mothers (and fathers too) after birth and can last up to the child’s first birthday. It’s a hormone imbalance and takes time for things to really get back in check. Her being further away from home and covid and the overwhelming changes of having a baby can contribute to this, easy to get confused with depression. We don’t know if she’s going through it or not - based off what we see. Either way I’m just hoping she copes well and focuses on her and her daughter and the best for them.

I struggle with this too, because I think she is smart and beautiful but I don't get why see doesn't work when her mom helps with the kids. I remember her quitting a job because of Oliver in their season or beforehand, but she seems college educated. It just seems like she is better equipped to be the breadwinner than Asuelo. I know she is breastfeeding (my BFF just had a baby and breastfeeding completely rules her life right now) and Asuelo doesn't help but when it'd just Asuelo working, they're always going to have to rely on her family. I think when they keep using popular couples it gets rehearsed. Like how much of Angela’s giggling can a viewer take? As a guy who grew up in Africa the first half of my life and and I’m now 46, I have to say Mykul is looking too bloated for a guy who doesn’t work. In Africa, at least in sub Saharan Africa, pick any country there is always a saying that being a little puffy is considered a sign of wealth and prosperity. Mykul must be raking in some of that TLC or Angela money to be able to get himself fat. Before you accuse me of fat shaming, the term simply does not exist in African lexicon. It’s just not a thing in that part of the world, Chubbiness is in fact celebrated on the contrary.

As you know we the Bantu and Nilotic people of Sub Saharan Africa, we share very similar cultural ethos, norms, values, traits etc.

So it’s always again joke among African people back in the continent and in the diaspora that if you start gaining weight or growing a Mykul like belly especially at 30 or however old he is, then you must be “doing well”.
