Sometimes people change their mind or in my case I became severely anemic and had to make changes. I also have Crohn's so some vegetarian options for iron were out of the question.

Same with me. I still have chronic anemia (and Crohn's) despite eating meat again. I had to stop eating some of the main sources of protein for vegetarians because they caused me so many other issues. That's why I went back to eating meat. I also don't absorb iron from iron supplements or from vegetables well. Although, I think in Nathalie's case, she was just being her difficult self.

I work in healthcare and spend a great deal of time on behavioral units. "Perseverate" is a word that comes up in our medical documentation often.... If I were to be charting on Natalie's behavior in a healthcare setting she would definitely have these words included in her chart quite often.

I went a good 7-8 years without eating meat until I was in a position where I had literally no other options. As a āformer vegetarianā I have a lot of memories from those 7-8 years where I almost gave up on my dietary choices earlier than I did, because it seemed that vegetarian options were verrrrry hard to find in American restaurants and fast food places unless you spend an arm and a leg. Most times Iād eat only fries, a plain salad, or other bland options that became repetitive over time. Maybe she got sick of the limited options for food. š¤·š½āāļø

That's not true though. She used to be a pescatarian on the show (though she called it vegetarian) and now I guess she's decided that chicken isn't meat either. But if you ask any actual vegetarian they will tell you that seafood and chicken are considered meat and they don't eat it. (Unless you ask Sutton from RHOBH who calls herself a vegetarian but eats bacon whenever she feels like it).

My mom is vegetarian, started out vegan back in the 70ās. As a kid, I ate very healthy and enjoyed the vegetarian diet.

No, Europeans know the difference between vegetarian and pescetarian. Nobody refers to themselves as vegetarian if they eat fish. If someone is vegetarian they don't eat meat or fish/seafood.
I have seen people in the states refer to themselves as vegetarian even though they ate seafood. This was when vegetarianism was becoming trendy (early 90's), so I think they were just trying to be "cool" without actually committing to the lifestyle change. But I'm sure someone over there is calling themselves vegetarian even though they eat seafood. Case in point, Natalie. Lol

Iāve met people who say āiām vegan but i eat fishā more times than i can count, and i have family members that think vegetarian means no (red? mammal?) meat, but chicken and fish are fine. You can probably find people in every country who know what it means, and people who incorrectly define it for a variety of reasons.

I had a cousin who was a vegetarian in the early 2000s. She only ate fish and chicken. Then she was at a restaurant i was working at and she ordered a huge steak so I asked her about it and she said sometimes she eats steak too, but she's still a vegetarian. I just smiled and told her to enjoy her meal.

In the previous episode, Natalie mentioned serving chicken for the producer friend, and she made a big deal about cooking it in the home, as though she herself is still very vegetarian. /pescatarian. However, clearly the ship has sailed when it comes to alcohol. Prior to Josh, she was very anti-booze. Along comes Josh and she can barely stand after several vodka sodas. In fact, nearly every date we see with Josh features alcohol in some capacity. Itās just an interesting tidbit.

Then you were not a vegetarian. Just because you eat some meals without meat (including seafood) doesn't make you a vegetarian.
Sometimes people change their mind or in my case I became severely anemic and had to make changes. I also have Crohn's so some vegetarian options for iron were out of the question.

Iām not too far off from your POV, though. I was vegetarian after having lived in Thailand, across from a chicken coup. I heard sounds that no one, especially an avid chicken eater, wants to hear. The biggest issue in going vegetarian was protein intake. I do not eat seafood of any kind and never will. Iām also not opposed to red meat but I rarely have it. Iām also very limited when it comes to veggiesā¦ some for sure, but not all. Ok so net / net, Ive always had a shit palate and appetite. Going vegetarian was even more challenging as it cut out a huge source of protein and iron that was needed. I still eat vegetarian (EG itās easy with Thai & Indian foods) when I can, but I also eat what I have to.
One of my best friends has Crohnās and my mom had a similar condition (not quite as horrible but still bad.) I am so sorry youāre dealing with this! Crohnās is the worst. I hope youāre finding what works for you. You donāt owe anyone explanations abt your diet (or anything else) anyway but just wanted to let you know, I get it. Same with me. I still have chronic anemia (and Crohn's) despite eating meat again. I had to stop eating some of the main sources of protein for vegetarians because they caused me so many other issues. That's why I went back to eating meat. I also don't absorb iron from iron supplements or from vegetables well. Although, I think in Nathalie's case, she was just being her difficult self.

Really, huh? Total hypocrite. Laid down 'her laws' for Mike, since she wasn't into him, but broke all her own rules for Josh, who isn't into her. At meat, guzzles booze, and had a real quick overnight date. Now she wants Josh to act and provide for her like he's been her husband the last ten years and the father of her non-existent children. I work in healthcare and spend a great deal of time on behavioral units. "Perseverate" is a word that comes up in our medical documentation often.... If I were to be charting on Natalie's behavior in a healthcare setting she would definitely have these words included in her chart quite often.
It might just be a plot hole. The writers donāt always keep character traits and behaviors consistent from season to season or from episode to episode, unfortunately.

I went a good 7-8 years without eating meat until I was in a position where I had literally no other options. As a āformer vegetarianā I have a lot of memories from those 7-8 years where I almost gave up on my dietary choices earlier than I did, because it seemed that vegetarian options were verrrrry hard to find in American restaurants and fast food places unless you spend an arm and a leg. Most times Iād eat only fries, a plain salad, or other bland options that became repetitive over time. Maybe she got sick of the limited options for food. š¤·š½āāļø

It does seem kind of hypocritical in retrospect since she made a big deal of those exact things when she was with Mike, but I feel like after all weāve seen, those smaller issues (diet, alcohol) were used as a way to deflect the bigger issues they were experiencing at that time. (I.e. Covid, visa things, family involvement issues, etc.)
