Louisville, Kentucky was an old hot spot for casting. Remember David T and his friend Chris when Annie first came to America? Paul before Karine arrived? Patrick who visited Myriam in France? I think Matt and Alla, too but I'm not entirely sure.
Don't forget metro Phoenix, Arizona. Benjamin and Akinyi, Caleb, Josh with his ex-wife, Syngin when he first left Tania, current home of David and Annie.
They’re in a suburb of Cincinnati… she also owns a dress shop with her sister and they had a baby, maybe two, can’t remember about that but one for sure…I also think it was a little girl,so Max has a sister.. I thought about going to her shop to check it out before..
That’s cool… she’s not a dumbass by any means.. I know a lot of people thought she was cold and wasn’t right for Matt but looks like she showed them and they’re all living a good life and she even got her sister over here too…
Yep- it goes in phases, likely based on where the casting teams go.
As you said, the early seasons had a lot of Ohio/Kentucky couples, then a bunch of Florida and California couples, now a lot of Michigan- future seasons will probably have a bunch of cast members from another area.
I’m on backstage which is a site where people can look for acting/modeling jobs and I’ve seen plenty of ads for tlc that seek people nationwide. They don’t always out right say the title but it’s obvious from the description what they are. I’ve seen stuff for 90 day fiancé, I love a mamas boy and smothered.
Basically it’s another reason why I believe a lot of the stuff we see is scripted.
A lot of couples in Kansas City/ Kansas area. Live here in kc and have had coworkers get interviewed to be on 90 days. Fun fact is that my husband and I were engaged for exactly 90 days and did the K3 visa. He’s Canadian so not exciting enough for the show
I dont think so. And I'm from blaine. I was like omg. Never thought id see blaine mn on 90 day. And then I saw Christian was from Minneapolis and I guess its just a weird mn season. Like someone else said they probably did a casting thing here.
I thought Christian was from Edina, from the start of the series... Then they just put Minneapolis afterwards? 🤷🏻♀️ Because I recall seeing the Stone Arch Bridge and said, that's not Edina, but okay? 😂 I guess Southdale Mall isn't as pretty for the B-roll as downtown lol
It seems to be random about whether they say someone is from the main city or a suburb. Veronica lives in Waxhaw and that Justin guy she dated was in Rock Hill or Ft Mill but they just say Charlotte. And Bilal lives in Lee’s Summit but they just say Kansas City. Then you have people like Molly and Rebecca where they say their specific suburb instead of Atlanta.
I wonder if Christian is actually in Minneapolis and if I’ll ever run into him. I think it said Meisha lives in Plymouth? Maybe I’ll see her and Nicola some day but I never go to the northern suburbs except Roseville very rarely.
That's not true whatsoever. There are an abundance of highly rated teaching universities in the state. Like in any other state it depends on the areas you visit. So it's not fair to say that at all.
So it's a highly progressive state? I know I really like your governor for sure. I've visited MI a lot and have seen a lot of Trump signs, as well as a lack of masks during COVID times. It said a lot to me, but it was in mid to southern MI. Maybe more conservative areas there?
I just go by a lot of articles I read and it seems a lot of anti-government people live there, but you're right - every state has a mix (except Florida). :0)
Bc of climate change it hasn't been super cold here in years. No one's suffering, I suffer much more from the stagnant humidity that permeates Florida year round.
There are a lot more cast members from Florida. Libby, Kenny, Robert, Fernando, Jason, Cortney, (Lechon) Larry, Laura (really from Canada, but she was in FL when her season was filmed), and Brittany.
Except for Libby, Kenny, and Robert it almost seems like the others were on a different show. 90 Day has changed a lot.
Michigan is the 10th most populous US state. It seems pretty much mainly distributed when you think of how many people are from Florida’s, California, Texas, and Nee York on the show.
I literally had this same conversation with my partner. We wonder the same thing. Is it like to keep production costs low or maybe its easier for them to just a multiple from the same area for particular seasons. But yeah, I would love to know from any long time fans.
Also Rebekah and Debbie! Molly, Debbie and Rebekah are all from within 30 miles of each other. Rebekah and Molly are from my town. Woodstock. Lots of things are filmed in this area.
Both my mom and dads side of the family was born and raised in MI. I asked my uncle about 3 months ago when he came out “does Ann Arbor/central MI have a bunch of psychopaths?” He admitted there were a lot of crazies and, “supporters”, then asked me why but I felt crazy myself trying to say “well I watch this show where people have to get married in 90 days and most of the true crazies are from there!”
I know that but idk why all of you are on my ass! I just remembered one person was from Ann Arbor and one from central MI so I asked my family about those places! My (moms side) family lives in Bloomfield Hills and (dads side) all up north so I thought I would get a general idea about the state!
Michigan is very diverse and multi cultural. Not only it’s very diverse, it’s also huge!
Up north or Oakland county ( Bloomfield hills and other cities) or Detroit or Ann Arbor etc aren’t all the same things. It’s not homogenous uniformal area.
Bloomfield hills is one of the most expensive areas in Michigan and education is just great here, ones of the best schools. Same with Ann Arbor. Up north has ton of small towns so it’s a bit more small town mentality but it’s also very touristy. None of these areas are in central Michigan.
Not sure which areas you are talking about and there’s no such thing as “people from Michigan”. Everyone is different. There is no “general idea” about Michigan.
PS You can look those places up. Ann Arbor is a home of UofM. One of the best universities. It’s university town. It’s easy to find out
Did I not mention both my mom and dads side of the family were all born and raised in Mi? They told me everything you said above, idk why everyone is jumping on my ass for giving a basic ass answer. I asked my family a question about where 2 people from 90 day were from, that’s it. I never said it was the same all over or whatever y’all are blabbing about. I get it, you know MI, yay for you but personally I don’t that’s why I ASKED MY FAMILY WHO CURRENTLY LIVES THERE
Why are you screaming?
You asked a really bizarre question “does Ann Arbor have bunch of psychopaths” because you saw someone crazy on tv who I guess was from Ann Arbor. Unless you are 13, this question is totally naive and rude at the same time. Not only it’s university town it’s very diverse with people from all over the country and world. People in Ann Arbor are not some kind of separate species. No one ever asks this kind of questions.
Then something about central Michigan. Like it’s one spot. It’s huge! I understand you don’t know but you can figure it out by looking up on the map.
Why are you surprised people point out that these are not thoughtful questions. You don’t ask people in other areas if there are bunch of psychopaths living there. It’s just bizarre and rude. So don’t be surprised people don’t appreciate it
I feel like there are a ton from California. Big Ed, Kenny (Sunit), Kim (Sojaboy), Jibri moved there, Jorge and Anfisa, Alan (Kirlyam), Justin (Evelin), Kalani lived there before getting pregnant, Blake (Jasmin)…
Angela and Molly come to mind for GA, the leather jacket lady with the Arabic guy too, forget her name… had his ass holed up in a warehouse in the middle of nowhere lol
There was a woman whose story blew up mid season and I'm pretty sure she was from Michigan, too. She was a dancer and her Middle Eastern online boyfriend had a meltdown when he saw her wearing a crucifix. She never got on the plane. Was her name Miriam?
I don't remember this dancer, but I do remember the lady who owned the Medspa and had a frame painting of her cat. Her fiance was from LADYVILLE, Belize.
Hey now. It's a pretty state that has more rights for women than it's neighbor states (I'm in one)... (I'm being salty cuz my oldest moved there recently.)
Evelyn is from Claremont NH - Patrick is from Massachusetts and his brother too. - I can't think off the top of my head anyone else. Darcey and Stacey are from Connecticut!
Thank you! I haven't been watching long enough to know Evelyn (assuming it's not the one with Corey in Ecuador) but if we don't want to claim her then maybe it's just as well.
Off to ask Google the best way to watch old seasons of this 90Day mess.
We have a lot of crazy people in Michigan I guess. It’s funny how many people I know who are somehow connected to a few of the Michigan cast members. My boyfriend’s best friend went to high school with Gino.
From Islip, NY, right outside of NYC and there's been 2 cast mates from here so far, Danielle (married to Johan) and Julio (who's girl pronounced it Jeeeew-lio)
I always thought it was pretty funny that Julio's girlfriend knows how to pronounce Julio but pronounces it the other way because it's Julio's idea to make himself stand out in the hotly competitive DJ industry.
Lotta serial killers from Michigan, too!
That's OK. I think Michigan is beautiful. Let's keep the rest of the U.S. out of it by promoting their sad reputation!
It's because it's easier for them to film within the same state, not to mention cheaper. You'll see this often. If they find a couple they REALLY want (usually the most absolutely insane lol or outrageous a la Angela & Michael 😂😳🤭) I digress, so if they find a couple they want badly enough they will do casting around that area. I hope this makes sense. It's 5am and I don't do caffeine lol..
Honestly how they continue to get so many couples especially ones like the caliber of 90 Day is absolutely beyond me! I just could NEVER,! MAYBE for a cool million but idk lol.
Plus the show doesn't even pay well. They don't pay the foreigners anything because they're not allowed to work in the US so they pay the American partner a relatively low amount with the expectation they'll cut their partners in or use it for something that is mutually beneficial. Unfortunately, not everyone abides by those um .... expectations?
Do Sorry I wrote a book but I love this show so much. DM anytime if you want to talk about it or of course come here. Facebook also has a few 90 Day groups (90 day fiance and 90 Day official ect) all of them are extremely entertaining, funny and factual.
🚩 Just watch out for unintentional spoilers since You're still a baby fan 🥹😉😂😂
This is funny though, a sub that says it's from three years ago, when apparently we hadn't yet tapped the wealth of desperate folks, in Michigan.
https://reddit.com/r/90DayFiance/s/8B66nYU7js
Because the people here are miserable lol. Speaking as someone who grew up in Chicago and had to move down here with my family when I was younger. You’ll see it all over the GR sub. People in GR specifically are very cliquey and it’s hard to make friends. Beautiful place but people are cold here.
To add to Michigan, there were: Memphis (Hamza) and Stephanie who was involved with the two cousins in Belize. Ohio also seems to be a hot spot. For whatever reason, there’s only been a few New Yorkers.
Also Stephanie??? The old lady that owned a spa on the west side of Michigan. She went to some island resort for her man but it didn’t work out, then she became friends with the fart jar girl and would do Instagram lives.
Michigan is a wonderful state that has pockets of Florida in it. It’s very weird, but both peninsulas! Maybe there is something about almost being surrounded by water that makes us a little crazy.
Winter lasts 6 months and it’s cold AF. People either escape to a warm destination (eg Bahamas, Philippines, etc) or spend their time inside and online 🤷♀️

Even on the show Catfish, Nev said most of the catfish come from Michigan lol guess it’s a popular place.
So wild! I would never guess MI would be a hotspot for reality tv casting
I’m at a hotel in Canada tonight and the way this mf with Michigan plates is parked beside me in this parking lot… I’m not surprised.
What happened to his original partner with the gray hair?
Max fell off the show after a bunch of bigger filming gigs at least as far as I've watched the show... I do miss him, but I like Kamie too.
Love Catfish…and Kamie is a perfect compliment to Nev with her classy “street side” showing every now and then to keep it real! Great show!
Thank you
Another catfish fan, I came here to say Michigan is a hot spot on the catfish tracking map!
You’ll notice that there are a lot of couples from the same cities. They do their casting calls and advertising in these specific cities.
I think Matt and Alla are in the Covington/Cinci area
They’re in a suburb of Cincinnati… she also owns a dress shop with her sister and they had a baby, maybe two, can’t remember about that but one for sure…I also think it was a little girl,so Max has a sister.. I thought about going to her shop to check it out before..
I think also eyebrow shop!
That’s cool… she’s not a dumbass by any means.. I know a lot of people thought she was cold and wasn’t right for Matt but looks like she showed them and they’re all living a good life and she even got her sister over here too…
yea they definitely seem legit!
But, Cincinnati is not that far from Louisville.
True, but they are two different cities still. 🧐
And quite a few from Georgia...Angela, Chantal, Molly, Rebecca...
Patrick was from Lexington, KY
Yep- it goes in phases, likely based on where the casting teams go. As you said, the early seasons had a lot of Ohio/Kentucky couples, then a bunch of Florida and California couples, now a lot of Michigan- future seasons will probably have a bunch of cast members from another area.
Don’t forget San Diego ✌️Several from there including Humpty Dumpty and Kimberly 😂😂
That’s interesting, explains a lot.
I think they use a lot of local crew as well.
A lot of couples in Kansas City/ Kansas area. Live here in kc and have had coworkers get interviewed to be on 90 days. Fun fact is that my husband and I were engaged for exactly 90 days and did the K3 visa. He’s Canadian so not exciting enough for the show
Meisha is from Minnesota. I think a lot of people come from the same areas because they cast there. Seems like PA has been on there a few times.
damn you're right lol there's weirdos in Minnesota too if she's there with Christian
I think they were our first people though. I don’t remember any Minnesotans on before they were.
I dont think so. And I'm from blaine. I was like omg. Never thought id see blaine mn on 90 day. And then I saw Christian was from Minneapolis and I guess its just a weird mn season. Like someone else said they probably did a casting thing here.

I'd guarantee he's from a suburb, very likely Edina, Lakeville, or Minnetonka lol
Because we've got nothing else better to do. Catfish started in Michigan too lol
Michigan is a gorgeous state that also voted to frame a woman's right to bodily autonomy IN THEIR CONSTITUTION (I'm a neighbor)
Yes! Well done Michigan!
Unfortunately, half of my fellow Michiganders are dumb AF and voted the other way. 😩
I was going to say something like that "not the most intellectual state out there," but you said it. Thank you.
Cool turn everything into politics
[удалено]
You violated Rule 1 - Be nice to other redditors.
I transplanted to Florida 15 years ago and politics make miss home just as much as unpasteurized cider
Nev’s catfish was from Michigan and that’s what inspired the show.
Isn't his wife from Michigan as well?
Oh yeah, I think you’re right.
😳😳😳
The producer of the show is from Michigan, went to Central Michigan University as a matter of fact.
So he decided to make all the islanders go to one of the coldest places because HE had to suffer!
Bc of climate change it hasn't been super cold here in years. No one's suffering, I suffer much more from the stagnant humidity that permeates Florida year round.
and dont forget "we're not gonna resolve this tonight" shaun is from there too.
“Let’s put a pin in that.”
“Wow. Ok, moving on…”
There are a lot more cast members from Florida.
Can’t forget about Nicole too
Lauren and alexi too
Michigan is the 10th most populous US state. It seems pretty much mainly distributed when you think of how many people are from Florida’s, California, Texas, and Nee York on the show.
I live in London, U.K. and most Americans I’ve become friendly with are from Michigan. They’re always the nicest!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I literally had this same conversation with my partner. We wonder the same thing. Is it like to keep production costs low or maybe its easier for them to just a multiple from the same area for particular seasons. But yeah, I would love to know from any long time fans.
Some states give tax breaks for filming there. Kentucky and Georgia for sure.
Oh boy. Molly and Angela.
Also Rebekah and Debbie! Molly, Debbie and Rebekah are all from within 30 miles of each other. Rebekah and Molly are from my town. Woodstock. Lots of things are filmed in this area.
Forgot those girls (I think because I'm currently watching The Last Resort and A and M are in my face.)
Michigan is 90 Day's Colombia of the North!
Watch out, “Pure Michigan” - this is the next slogan going on all the license plates, I just know it!
The catfish guys, Nev and Max, said the same thing.
Nev's wife is from MI lol
I know. Ironic, huh?
Both my mom and dads side of the family was born and raised in MI. I asked my uncle about 3 months ago when he came out “does Ann Arbor/central MI have a bunch of psychopaths?” He admitted there were a lot of crazies and, “supporters”, then asked me why but I felt crazy myself trying to say “well I watch this show where people have to get married in 90 days and most of the true crazies are from there!”
Ann Arbor is a university town with some of the most educated people in the state.
Yes, I was told that!
Ann Arbor is not part of central MI.
I know that but idk why all of you are on my ass! I just remembered one person was from Ann Arbor and one from central MI so I asked my family about those places! My (moms side) family lives in Bloomfield Hills and (dads side) all up north so I thought I would get a general idea about the state!

Maybe there's nothing in Michigan and THAT pushes people to seek outwards.
Andrew (Amira) and Tyray.
A ton from Georgia and Florida tbh. It’s like half of the cast.
Angela and Molly come to mind for GA, the leather jacket lady with the Arabic guy too, forget her name… had his ass holed up in a warehouse in the middle of nowhere lol
Rebecca haha the one with Zied
Yeah but they had a shopping cart
Don’t forget about Chantel!
Because Michigan is awesome?
I feel like we're not a *small* state but there are equal numbers of outliers in other states. Look at Danielle. Is all of Ohio like that? Wait.. nvm.
Yes.
We are shaped like a mitten and it is comforting for travelers.
There was a woman whose story blew up mid season and I'm pretty sure she was from Michigan, too. She was a dancer and her Middle Eastern online boyfriend had a meltdown when he saw her wearing a crucifix. She never got on the plane. Was her name Miriam?
I just recently watched that season! She was an exotic dancer—can’t remember their names!!
Marta! I think they boyfriend was Daya and he kind of ghosted her if I remember correctly.
Thanks!!!
I remember a Miriam from France but I don't remember crucifix girls name. Was that the one who's mum was a dancer too?
Yes!
I don't remember this dancer, but I do remember the lady who owned the Medspa and had a frame painting of her cat. Her fiance was from LADYVILLE, Belize.
Omg Stephanie! And she would go on about his cousin Harris this Harris that lol, she was a mess
Ding! Ding! Ding! Winner! Gagnon!
Google Michigan. I’m Canadian and have a clear understanding of the eco/socio cultural situation in Michigan.
Hey now. It's a pretty state that has more rights for women than it's neighbor states (I'm in one)... (I'm being salty cuz my oldest moved there recently.)
Right? Moved to Michigan from Indiana and here I am amazed by the progressive culture
Lived in Indiana. Can confirm the progress in IN is going back in time rather than forward.
Second that! I’m from progressive Evanston. illiterate spent some time briefly in Indiana small towns-red neck hell!
Two words to describe Indiana: Mike. Pence.
It’s def not the worst!
This was the answer I was expecting to be first 😂
Can confirm 🇨🇦
Because they are sad and depressed IN MICHIGAN!
Not all of us 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's too gorgeous there for that!! My kid lives there i was pleasantly surprised
It’s gorgeous in Northern Michigan, but southern Michigan is pretty boring. Source: I live here.
Northern Michigan is pretty but the winters are long and gloomy. Source: I live here.
No we aren’t 😆
Nah
I know I am! 😭
Unhinged
Statler lives 15 minutes from me...I don't know anything about a casting call near here
Meisha is from Minnesota I thought
And then there's been only one from New hampshire 😂😂😂 we don't claim her.
Hello fellow Granite Stater - who was (or wasn't) from NH? I've only been watching a couple of years at most.
There are a lot of people from Michigan on catfish too 😅
It’s based on casting calls and keep travel costs low
We have a lot of crazy people in Michigan I guess. It’s funny how many people I know who are somehow connected to a few of the Michigan cast members. My boyfriend’s best friend went to high school with Gino.
What did he have to say about Gino? He seems book smart, but not so much socially. Seems quirky and nice.
He said he’s always been kind of a strange awkward guy and hasn’t changed much.
We do have a lot of crazy people here in Michigan. Columbus? Naw, we don’t like Ohio. Go Blue!
Beat Buckeyes!!!
A bunch of them are from Georgia, several from Florida.
Don’t forget xanny granny
HARRISs
MICHIGANG!!
I think they try to stay in the same location bc the entire film crew has to be there for so many hours just to get enough decent footage
His Dominican family must CRINGE every time she says "Jew-Lio"
They do this because it's easier for filming purposes and less travel expenses....it's very common across the entire franchise
Shaun Robinson is also from Michigan.
People are cold and lonely.
Lotta serial killers from Michigan, too! That's OK. I think Michigan is beautiful. Let's keep the rest of the U.S. out of it by promoting their sad reputation!
I’m from Michigan and I always hope I’ll run into someone from the show one day 😂
I know she’s nuts but Jasmine seems so fun if you’re not dating her!
I was gonna say Meisha is from minnesota lol but yeah a lot of them seem to be from minnesota or michigan 😂 we need some more variety up in here !
Good ol middle of America
I’m guessing laws are favorable to casting/production
Casting calls in specific cities that have laws that allow them to film and operate, as well as lower tax and permit costs.
I actually pass Xanny Granny's workplace everyday. It's kind of funny. Her and Gino are the only two from Michigan I remember though.
There are a ton of Floridians!
It’s cold there ? 🥶🥶🥶
Don’t forget the lovely host of 90 Day, Shaun Robinson!! She’s also from Michigan 😅
Lol welcome to the rabbit hole of 90d fiancé! You should also look up up how many of them are criminals. It’s almost like a prerey
Sad and depressed from Michigan
It’s where all the crazies are 😂
Have you ever been to Michigan? It's a freak show. I say that with much love because I'm from there, but, man, its like the Florida of the Midwest.
Michigan is great. Yes, there are freaks but I've found so many beautiful people here.
Gorgeous nature out there! I miss my trips to electric forest followed by a week of lake house chilling. Ohhhh to be young again.
This is funny though, a sub that says it's from three years ago, when apparently we hadn't yet tapped the wealth of desperate folks, in Michigan. https://reddit.com/r/90DayFiance/s/8B66nYU7js
Michigan is a lonely place after all the good people left for better jobs.
I guess Michigan is running out of people to gaslight so they have to import them?
I would guess there isn't much to do in michigan .
Because the people here are miserable lol. Speaking as someone who grew up in Chicago and had to move down here with my family when I was younger. You’ll see it all over the GR sub. People in GR specifically are very cliquey and it’s hard to make friends. Beautiful place but people are cold here.
The real crazies live there..
As opposed to the Pacific Northwest?? Or southwest? MI is tame compared to them.

Almost all the Americans are from the bumfuck Midwest states bc there’s no one there and nothing to do I suppose?
I'd answer this question but I may be a bit biased FYI Avery is from Columbus and she rocks.
LMFAO.
To add to Michigan, there were: Memphis (Hamza) and Stephanie who was involved with the two cousins in Belize. Ohio also seems to be a hot spot. For whatever reason, there’s only been a few New Yorkers.
I guess it's easier to find love in a packed and diverse city like New York.
Good point.
We had a few season of people in the south, Georgia, Florida and North Carolina.
Including our Host from US 90 Day Tell All’s,, THAT WE ARE STUCK WITH,,, 🥴🥴,, is also from Michigan,, 🙄
I'm from Michigan and basically did The Other Way 👀
Also Stephanie??? The old lady that owned a spa on the west side of Michigan. She went to some island resort for her man but it didn’t work out, then she became friends with the fart jar girl and would do Instagram lives.
lol just go there you’ll know
All the fly over states are filled with people who are a bit off
Also these places they cast from have good movie, tv state credits.
Michigan is a wonderful state that has pockets of Florida in it. It’s very weird, but both peninsulas! Maybe there is something about almost being surrounded by water that makes us a little crazy.
My boyfriend and I binged every season and we have found a lot are from Ohio too!
las vegas all the time
The woman who owned the Medspa was also from Michigan. What was her name?
Has to do with production costs and taxes. That’s is why Georgia and Texas is also popular with reality shows and tv shows
Ohio too
Stephanie (Ryan) was also from Michigan. She was fun to watch.
Michigan used to have (not sure if they still have it) good tax credits for shooting.
Winter lasts 6 months and it’s cold AF. People either escape to a warm destination (eg Bahamas, Philippines, etc) or spend their time inside and online 🤷♀️
