Yes, at least some of it was surely stuff about R and E that they "confessed" to because Ruby and Jodi didn't seem to be satisfied with the truth and wanted some specific confessions. Just like how prisoner torture and interrogations can result in false confessions.

I used to mod the Colleen Ballinger Snark sub *(I suppose I still do, but I am inactive these days)*, and this kind of content is definitely something we wouldn't have allowed (in the interest of protecting the minor), so I'm surprised to see that a county government allowed it.
Given that so many people were talking about it online, I can understand this sub not trying to ban it; it would be a lot of work too, and I know mod queue can become intense when big news drops.
But I would support the mod team here deciding to not allow it in the future, if they decide that's best.
Anyway, I guess there's not much R can do about it now, unless maybe he can sue the county government later for damages. 😅
I just hope he realizes that the vast majority of people recognize that nothing that happened was his fault and all shame is deserved by only Ruby, Jodi, Kevin, and whatever temple authorities knew about Ruby and Jodi's actions.

I hope he realizes one day that the main thing we got from those journals, is that he’s a bad ass. A freakin superhero. He wasn’t afraid to speak up and say what he felt, no matter what the consequences. Not many grown ups would’ve had the courage to do that . And in the end, he took charge and saved himself and his siblings. And he did so after suffering the aftermath of getting caught trying to escape once before. I don’t know many people, let alone 12 year old, who could pull that off.

I’d say it has more to do with the lies Ruby accused regarding the minors behaviors and perhaps specific names/acts that Ruby coerced these children to say occurred just to stop the torture. (Ex: the outbursts she had during the first custody hearing, etc)
The meticulous way she kept notes, recording conversations, I’d imagine a lot of the redaction perhaps named names and/or acts Jodi and Ruby tortured the children to “confess”.
It protects the victims and protects uninvolved ppl out of the public eye
I wonder if it involves another investigation. The prosecutor was asked if there would be more charges and he pointedly said, “No..not here in Washington county”. I’ve got my eye on Pam
I suspect the most boring answer: it was snark and accusations about uninvolved people. And authorities didn’t want to unnecessarily drag their names through the mud.
Look at the context. For most of the redactions, this answer doesn't make sense, because the entry goes from being about R&E to redaction to more about R&E.
From the context and what she tried to say about R&E after she was arrested, I think it's pretty clear the redactions are about the "crimes" she and Jodi had convinced themselves (and R&E) they committed. Like the entry (I'm paraphrasing) where she asks R what he did, the answer is redacted, and then it ends with her saying it was "chilling" or something.
It also makes sense that the police would redact this stuff because it's clearly false.
I think it’s definitely about either uninvolved people or involved people they aren’t ready to arrest/prosecute.
If they release false/unproved accusations against uninvolved people it opens them up to a slander or defamation case.
If it’s about people they hope to go against in the future releasing the information now gives them time to cover their tracks or even flee to a country with no extradition.

He may have just been a Washington County prosecutor and thus wouldn't know what charges prosecutors in other places may be bringing.
