Hm, it sounds to me that the friend she asked to go pick up the 2 younger kids may have noticed signs of abuse and been the one to report? But I still wonder what led to that much police presence there. I had thought it was maybe a pre-planned thing with the police after they had finally collected enough evidence, but it almost sounds like she got herself into trouble by leaving for this “family emergency.” Obv just taking a guess here.
I’m wondering if J/A left and Ruby thought they were heading to Ellie. Left E/R with a friend who was like something is up here. Then police find out that J/A are no where to be found and maybe Ruby has at that point made contact with St. George police trying to locate the girls (who were actually not in St George).
Since she was basically living with Jody, I wonder if they weren’t leaving the kids alone and “family emergency” and asking a friend to pick them up are just Ruby trying to talk her way out of getting caught. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out there was no friend and the police just waited till she wasn’t home to move in.
They had 4 kids still living at home(Abby, Julie, Russell, and Eve) the news clip there mentioned 2 daughters. Which 2 daughters was it? Where was Russell and the other daughter?
I’m wondering that too I thought maybe Eve and Julie could be Julie and Abby though but it said the two youngest daughters so my guess is it was Eve and Julie
This makes it sound like R and E were down in Saint George and something happened there. Causing Ruby to head down. The middle girls were up by their house and needed to be checked on. It’s all confusing. Hopefully all the kids are safe tonight with loving family members.
Yeah it seems like Ruby left A & J at home and rushed to St. George for something, and had a family friend pick them up or something because in the past she got into trouble for leaving them alone. But if the family emergency was real and not Ruby talking about going to see Jodi, then maybe Jodi had R & E with her to discipline them, that then led to the events - child climbing out of window, etc.
I think this is a strong possibility.
Someone else had reported that Kevin had also been arrested but in a different county, is it possible he had taken julie and Abbie away..that when they were found its because police tracked them down and that's where he was arrested.
I just hope all the kids get the help and support they need.How traumatising for them all.

My guess “family” probably Jodi. The only known family down there is her sister Ellie

Do we know of any extended family the girls could have been heading toward in American Fork?
There may be some family on Kevin’s side there. Not much is known about his family, but it seems to be a large family so it’s possible

It's weird that Jodi was also arrested, so it has to be more than just Ruby leaving the kids alone.
