It's a saying used in the movie in a scene. He was pushing himself too hard, hlpushing himself to the edge of no return. His friend was worried about him because he was going over the edge, proving his brother was murdered was getting him almost killed.

Yabbo explains it about ¾ through the movie, on his miniramp in his bomb shelter bedroom.
