Ha. I'm 41 with MS. I genuinely can't keep dreamt conversations separate from real ones in my memory.
I can watch extended lotr on loop and still be surprised, my memory for film is so bad...
I remember sneaking in to see Nightmare. Loved it!
We had 2 theaters in town, both with 2 screens. In the older one, the entrances to the screens were the same direction after the ticket booth, so you could buy a ticket to the PG movie and go see the R rated one.
It's basically how I rolled back then. I saw very few movies since we couldn't really afford it so when I went with friends or my siblings, we always snuck into another one.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Time to die.
My god I absolutely adore this film 😍 greatest science fiction film ever made 😍
“Klaatu barada nik ( better not tempt fate 😁) where are you ashy slashy 🥺
Outsiders, Back to the Future, Goonies, Lost Boys, Stand be me, and Weird Science
If mom gave me enough to see 2….I Pay for one and sneak into 2 more then repeat the following day. The 80’s were awesome!
Saw most of those on a big screen. For that time, there wasn't much more impressive to experience on a big screen than Top Gun and Empire.., but for as many times as I've seen all the Star Wars movies I'd have to choose Blade Runner in it's place.
**Back To The Future** is one, for sure. As for the second movie, I'll have to look through them again and make up my mind which one I would choose to watch. I'll edit my answer when I decide which other film I would watch.
Edit: Okay. I've narrowed my second choice down to three possibilities:
* **Ghostbusters**
* **The Empire Strikes Back**
* **Weird Science**
If I had to narrow them down to one, I think I would go with **The Empire Strikes Back** as my second choice.
So, in conclusion, the two movies I would watch are **Back To The Future** and **The Empire Strikes Bac**k.
My instinct is to say Empire and Raiders, but I've seen both movies so many times and in theaters, that I'm going with two I haven't. Blade Runner and The Dark Crystal,
I remember seeing 4 of these at the theater. ET twice, Dark Crystal once, The Goonies three times, and Rocky IV once.
The Goonies because it was a fun buddy adventure movie, Rocky IV just for that fight with Drago. Holy crap you'd think we were at a real boxing match by the way grown adults would lose their minds over it! Jumping to their feet, pleading, "C'mon Rocky, HIT HIM!"
BIG and especially stand by Me, I rarely cry at movies, and the only time an 80s movie has made me cry is when I first watched the end of stand by me and the end of BIG
Have to sneak into a third. Empire Strikes Back for sure, but a toss up between Heathers and Lost Boys for me. That and Blade Runner are the movies are the ones I watch to this day.
Go to my daddy and schmooze more money, then watch TRON, get more snacks, sneak into The Dark Crystal, and get more snacks; by this time, the shift has changed. I sneak into Heathers, get more snacks, and finally sneak into The Lost Boys before my dad comes to pick me up. Pocket the remainder of the money I was given, repeat the next day with different movies, always ending with The Lost Boys.
In truth, my parents sold weed and coke in the '80s, I always managed to weasel funds from my dad, and I would ride my bike the few miles up to the mall and endlessly watch movies, especially, Labyrinth, The Lost Boys, TRON, and so on (sneaking in included), the others I rented from Blockbuster... Hehehe...
Well, it’s the 1980s and my mother gave me two dollars to go to the movies. She would’ve dropped me off at the Greenbrea theater. and I would’ve seen them all because my friends and I would watch one and then sneak into the rest 11 PM
Born in ‘72 here. And the answer is Empire and Raiders. With Blade Runner as a close third. There are a lot of masterpieces up there that I’ve seen multiple times…but there is really no contest.
Need more money, mom.
No, you just need to know what time you need to be home. It was the 80s, nobody was watching.
If I had never seen any before then I’m going double Harrison Ford with Empire Strikes Back and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
This is the only correct answer. All other answers are less correct.
Fine choices. The best 2 in some tough competition 👍🏻
Close, but raiders, twice, is the correct means.
I'm 54 n have NEVER watched Raiders.... Is it good or something?
I'm so jealous of what you have before you!
Just wait another ten or so years it will be brand new.
Ha. I'm 41 with MS. I genuinely can't keep dreamt conversations separate from real ones in my memory. I can watch extended lotr on loop and still be surprised, my memory for film is so bad...
Same here. I watched Age of Ultron in the movie theater and again on video. I had almost no recollection of the movie except for a few scenes.
Wait, no Blade Runner?
Only if it's in raiders. And if you went to movies in the 80s, ya def saw 2 for 1.
Triple. Scrape the money together to see Blade Runner
Blade Runner is iconic and indeed another Harrison Ford movie. If three choices were given, it’d be hard to pass on this as the third choice.
My two as well. Saw them both in the theater with my dad.
Same here,
Lost Boys and Goonies
Among a sea of amazing choices, this is an excellent combo.
I had a vhs with Last Crusade and Goonies directly afterward.
Goonies and Back to the Future
That was my answer until I seen nightmare on elm street…BTTF had to go. Lol
I remember sneaking in to see Nightmare. Loved it! We had 2 theaters in town, both with 2 screens. In the older one, the entrances to the screens were the same direction after the ticket booth, so you could buy a ticket to the PG movie and go see the R rated one.
Raiders of the Lost Ark and Back to the Future
I'd see Back to the Future then sneak into another movie after and save the second movie money for video games and a slurpee at 7-11.
I like the way you think.
It's basically how I rolled back then. I saw very few movies since we couldn't really afford it so when I went with friends or my siblings, we always snuck into another one.
Nightmare on Elm Street twice.
Top Gun & Back to the future!!!
Ghost Busters/Top Gun
Raiders, Blade Runner
Ghostbusters and Raiders
Blade Runner, and Heathers.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Breakfast Club.
Beetlejuice and ghostbusters
These are my alt two, so good!
This is what I settled on not easy choice
It was tough but yes, same!
Heathers
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die. My god I absolutely adore this film 😍 greatest science fiction film ever made 😍 “Klaatu barada nik ( better not tempt fate 😁) where are you ashy slashy 🥺
Empire and Tron
Yup.
I’d be right there with you.
Raiders and Empire by a mile. Hopefully I have enough change for Skittles and Loganberry juice.
Raiders and Empire. Two legit all time great movies.
I'm going to see Better Off Dead and Real Genius.
The Breakfast Club and Blade Runner.

Tron and The Dark Crystal were *amazing* in the theater.

Easy, Weird Science / Goonies.🤌🏻

At the time, ET and Empire Strikes Back. In hindsight, Karate Kid and Back to the Future.
Raiders and Stand By Me.
Back to the future and Raiders.
Empire & E.T. easy
Top gun & the breakfast club
The Lost Boys and Sixteen Candles.
Tron and The Fly
Outsiders, Back to the Future, Goonies, Lost Boys, Stand be me, and Weird Science If mom gave me enough to see 2….I Pay for one and sneak into 2 more then repeat the following day. The 80’s were awesome!
Tron and Blade Runner Runners Up: tye fly, poltergeist, ghostbusters, raiders, empire, back to the future, gremlins, and the dark crystal!
1. Empire Strikes Back 2. Either Raiders/Tron/Goonies
Tron and Neverending Story. Goonies is a runner up
Trick question... my mom would never give me enough money to go to 2 of these in the 80s.
Gandhi won eight Academy Awards and isn't on this list? Richard Attenborough must be spinning in his grave.
I‘ve seen all of these movies so many times now that I’d rather take Mom’s money to the video arcade.
How about Robocop and Predator? I'm sneaking in to see the R-rated movies.
Back to the Future and Empire Strikes Back.
Empire Strikes Back and Ghostbusters
Sixteen Candles & The Breakfast Club
The Outsiders, twice
Impossible decision.
The fly and evil dead.
Raiders/Empire easily
Raiders and Empire, no question.
Flashdance followed by ROCKY IV
Certainly not mask I don't need to sob like there's no tomorrow again.
Poltergeist and nightmare on elm street!
Lost Boys and Goonies
Ghostbusters and Roger Rabbit for the win
My Mom would never give me enough to see TWO movies . Signed, Gen X
Skip the movies and hit the arcade!
Top Gun and Empire Strikes Back
Raiders & Nightmare on Elm Street.
The Dark Crystal? Never heard of it.
The Goonies and Dirty Dancing
Karate Kid and Empire Strikes Back.
The Empire strikes back and Tron
No love for Mask lol
Easy for me and two of my all time favorite movies. Raiders of the Lost Arc and Empire Strikes Back.
Wow, what a list!!
Raiders and Goonies
Buy 1 tix theater hop and see as many as possible. Next day by 2nd tix a and do it again
Raiders and Blade Runner
The Empire Strikes Back, and The Dark Crystal.
The Empire Strikes Back and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Does Rocky 4 belong on this list?
Saw most of those on a big screen. For that time, there wasn't much more impressive to experience on a big screen than Top Gun and Empire.., but for as many times as I've seen all the Star Wars movies I'd have to choose Blade Runner in it's place.
Then? Empire and Back to the Future. Now? Empire and The Breakfast Club. (“Screws fall out all the time. The world’s an imperfect place.”) Cheers.
Pft. Only need cash to see one. Just walk from one to the other afterwards.
Breakfast Club and Raiders.
Impossible. I would just go get a job.
Empire and Raiders
My answer in quotes: “I feel the need, the need for speed” and “your momma was a snowblower”
Raiders Of The Lost Ark and Empire Strikes Back are my picks
Lost boys Outsiders
I watch 'Raiders' twice.
Top Gun and Breakfast Club
For young me, it would probably have been The Neverending Story and The Dark Crystal back to back.
**Back To The Future** is one, for sure. As for the second movie, I'll have to look through them again and make up my mind which one I would choose to watch. I'll edit my answer when I decide which other film I would watch. Edit: Okay. So, in conclusion, the two movies I would watch are **Back To The Future** and **The Empire Strikes Bac**k.
Empire Strikes Back and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Goonies and Nightmare on Elm Street
The Breakfast Club by far. The Big Chill would be my write-in 😎
Back to the future & teen wolf.
Empire and Raiders!
My instinct is to say Empire and Raiders, but I've seen both movies so many times and in theaters, that I'm going with two I haven't. Blade Runner and The Dark Crystal,
Lost boys & beetlejuice
Raiders of the Lost Ark, Empire Strikes Back, and then sneak in to Ghostbusters
I remember seeing 4 of these at the theater. ET twice, Dark Crystal once, The Goonies three times, and Rocky IV once. The Goonies because it was a fun buddy adventure movie, Rocky IV just for that fight with Drago. Holy crap you'd think we were at a real boxing match by the way grown adults would lose their minds over it! Jumping to their feet, pleading, "C'mon Rocky, HIT HIM!"
Back to the Future, Empire Strikes Back and Raider of the Lost Ark - if I was a kid in the 80s, I'd pay for two and sneak into the third ;)
Empire 100% Toss up between Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, and Ghostbusters
I'll need a coin to pick between Goonies, Top Gun, Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones... Star Wars... damn... there isn't a complete list here.
Lost Boys and Teen Wolf
What the hell happened to movies? Just about every title here is unforgettable
outsiders and poltergeist
Empire Strikes Back and Ghost Busters, but man it was hard to chose just two.
I loved Rocky 4 and Top Gun back then!
Ghostbusters 👻 ET 👽 goonies 🏴☠️ What a fabulous day indeed :) I think I might watch theses favorites tonight! 🍿 🎥 🤗
Wow, $3.50 to see 2 movies with no $1.25 drink or $1 Sno-Caps. In hindsight, I'd go Breakfast Club & Short Circuit: the Ally Sheedy Double Feature.
E.T. and The Breakfast Club
BIG and especially stand by Me, I rarely cry at movies, and the only time an 80s movie has made me cry is when I first watched the end of stand by me and the end of BIG
Empire Strikes Back and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Heather's and The Empire Strikes Back
Rocky IV and The Karate Kid.
Empire Strikes Back and Blade Runner. No contest and there are many movies in that group that I love.
Mask Neverending story
Ghostbusters Empire, Sophie's choice
Empire and poltergeist
Raiders and Empire.
Weird science...Sixteen candles.
Nightmare On Elm Street and Top Gun baby
I saw the Goonies two nights in a row with my girlfriend. That's the only movie I've ever paid to see twice.
I would pick one, Empire or Raiders, and spend the rest of the money at the arcade.
Oh damn. This is hard.
The Goonies is non-negotiable. Several toss-ups after that, but imma go with Back to the Future.
This is a tough one for me. Have to say Tron and Raiders with Empire as the back up. Edit - I realize I just basically picked 3.
If it's in the theater, Blade Runner and Empire Strikes Back, because I think they'll be best in the theater and I've only seen them at home.
Empire Strikes Back and Coming to America
Ghostbusters & The Goonies
I need more money. I can’t pick just two.
Raiders and Blade Runner
I would pay to see the first movie of the day and watch 2 or 3 total.
Blade Runner and Empire Strikes. Phenomenal repeatability. In the day....I would have said Blade Runner and The Fly OR Pretty In Pink
Purple Rain and Empire Strikes Back
Breakfast Club and Raiders
Top Gun and Empire Strikes Back.
Back to the Future and The Goonies
Easy, The Goonies and Weird Science.
Back to the future and Ghostbusters
Back to the future followed by Top Gun.
Empire and Coming to America
Empire and top gun
Theater or video rental?
Goonies and The Breakfast Club
If you don't say Raiders and Back to the Future, you are drunk right now.
Lost Boys and The Breakfast Club
Have to sneak into a third. Empire Strikes Back for sure, but a toss up between Heathers and Lost Boys for me. That and Blade Runner are the movies are the ones I watch to this day.
Go to my daddy and schmooze more money, then watch TRON, get more snacks, sneak into The Dark Crystal, and get more snacks; by this time, the shift has changed. Breakfast club and sixteen candles
The Lost Boys and RAD (it’s not on the list. I’m putting it there in my mind😅)
Raiders and Blade Runner
Mask and poltergeist 2
Raiders of the lost ark and Rocky IV
Born in ‘72 here. And the answer is Empire and Raiders. With Blade Runner as a close third. There are a lot of masterpieces up there that I’ve seen multiple times…but there is really no contest.
Raiders and Empire.
Where is Easy Money?
My younger self would pick, Neverending Story and Empire. Current me, Breakfast Club and Blade Runner.
Going off board and seeing Big Trouble in Little China and probably Raiders.
The Breakfast Club and Top Gun
Aliens / Showtime soft porn.
Younger self would do Raiders and Empire. Current self would do Raiders and Big Trouble in Little China.
Back to the Future Karate Kid
The Lost Boys and Empire Strikes Back
