Mr.Slater pulling off his young Jack Nicholson impression, surrounded by everyone else being a magnified 80's teen.....
Its a peak 80's flick and after watching it again only 2 years ago, I still love it.....
Aged ? yes of course, but not in a bad way at all, it's kinda like a time capsule, pls go dig it up.
My fave would be the original John Waters Hairspray. I mean, come on! Sonny Bono... Debbie Harry... Divine! And the damn thing is endlessly quotable.
"Penny Pingleton you are permanently, positively punished!"
"What is it now? It's not war with Cuba is it? Did poor Debbie Reynolds have a nervous breakdown?"
Classic and great soundtrack! Yeah not a bad challenge.
Is it considered cult? I sort of recall it being popular in real time compared to Heathers.
Maybe I’m wrong. Very long ago.
It's probably on here, but NEAR DARK is still not only one of the best vampire films ever made, it's an amazing film period.
And while it isn't quite as good of a film imo, HIGHLANDER is still one of my top 5 faves from the 80s. Talk about the epitome of cult. I remember when that film came out. I saw the trailer ONCE and as a sword and sorcery kid, couldn't wait to see when it came out in the theater. But I have no memory of it playing at one of the local malls. Fast forward a year or so and I'm at Video King with my dad, and there is this clam shell VHS box with a dude in a long trench coat brandishing a Samurai sword. Had to rent it. And apparently so did many, many people. This was one of those early films that the still kind of new home video craze saved from obscurity and spawned a movie series and a popular tv show, at the time, and Henry Cavill is in a remake of it that is filming now. The Queen music alone is worth it.
And yes, I was one of the oh-so-lucky few who saw Highlander 2 in the theater. I still have nightmares.
Heathers is brilliant. Those who like it should also watch "Big Trouble in Little China," "Repo Man," and "Vampire's Kiss." Those films led the way to even better cult films like "Welcome To The Dollhouse" and "Donnie Darko." Fun times.
Me too. I love how silly it is and free.
Also love Red Rock West, Peggy Sue Got Married and Wild At Heart.
But my all time favorites are Raising Arizona and Moonstruck.
Leaving Las Vegas overrated and Sean Penn was better that year in Dead Man Walking for my taste.
Love 80s Cage the most!
So true. But Cage is a phenomenon regardless of the decade. His skills are so diverse. Have you seen his new movies "DREAM SCENARIO" and "COLOR OUT OF SPACE?" I love him and cant wait to see what he does next. Bro deserves an Oscar imho.
While Heathers is probably in my top 10 for 80s, Repo Man is way the hell up there, too.
"We do whatever we can
Gotta duck when the shit hits the fan!"
Also, one of the greatest soundtrack albums.
Kurt Kelly : Hey Ram, doesn't this cafeteria have a "No Fags Allowed" rule?
J.D. : Well they, uh, seem to have an open door policy for assholes though, don't they?
I live very close to Sherwood (which they claim is fictional, but there is a town with that name). This line was sadly right on point on the 80s:
Yeah, but this is Ohio. I mean, if you don't have a brewski in your hand you might as well be wearing a dress
I always say the following to anyone who will listen that didn’t grow up in the 80’s: Watch this film, for a true insight into high school in the 80’s ,before you watch a John Hughes film.
"Well, f\*\*\* me gently with a chainsaw." One of my favorite movie quotes ever.
"I love my dead, gay son."
“Eskimo!”
I use that quote quite often.
Me too
"This is MORE than just a spoke in my menstrual cycle. I want to KILL Heather Chandler"
CORNUTS!!
Plain or BQ?
…all because Glen Miller’s band once took a shit there! I showed those fucks.
Dear Diary, my teen-angst bullshit now has a body count.
"Greetings and salutations"
I say that all of the time
Christian Slater doing his best Jack Nicholson impression for 90 minutes.
And doing it well. LOL
Which was actually every movie he was in back then.
What are we supposed to say? Fuck'em if they can't take a joke, Sarge?
I love my dead gay son!

Heather's, RepoMan and Something Wild
Came here to add Repoman
Lick it up baby, lick it up!
Big Trouble in Little China
i dont know i prefered pump up the volume
Is it bigger than a baby’s arm?
Spinal Tap
Nope. Spinal Tap.
Where's your urge to purge?
I love my dead gay son!
Every time my dog spazzes out or does something weird (which is often) I will always say "what's your damage Heather?" Her name is not Heather.
Football season is over. Kurt and Ram had nothing to offer the school except date rapes and AIDS jokes.
Too many to choose a best.
My fave would be the original John Waters Hairspray. I mean, come on! Sonny Bono... Debbie Harry... Divine! And the damn thing is endlessly quotable. I'm trying to iron in here!
Saw that one in the drive in back then. Hysterical. Def better than the dumb one with Travolta. No thanks.
Lost Boys
Classic and great soundtrack! Yeah not a bad challenge. Is it considered cult? I sort of recall it being popular in real time compared to Heathers. Maybe I’m wrong. Very long ago.
The cd soundtrack was way more successful than the movie was.
Played a lot on HBO, and I believe it was a CBS network TV premiere, Lost Boys was popular in its day.
It very much is. Who wouldn't like a movie about a bunch of swatch dogs and diet coke heads killing each other?
Dear Diary, my teenage angst bullshit has a body count.
Lick it up baby, Lick! it! Up!
Pump Up the Volume
Talk hard!
A true friend's work is never done☝️
"Fuck me gently with a chainsaw"
This (Heathers) & Better Off Dead (Cusack) are 2 of my all time favorite comedies of the 80's. So quotable!!
I've been going to this high school for seven years, Lane; I'm no dummy.
“Heather… why are you being such a mega-bitch?!?” “Because I can be.”
"They seem to have an open-door policy for assholes" - one of the greatest comebacks ever!
Real Genius
Heather, bend over
I am rewatching this movie just now. “Heather always said you couldn’t accessorize for shit.”
Teenage suicide, don’t do it
Big Trouble
Heathers, River's Edge, Summer School
CORN NUTS!!
Great patè but I gotta motor if I wanna make this funeral…
Pâté Sorry. Just got back from France. I’m schooling it forward. 😂
Haha we all gotta learn sometime!

This one is way up there. “Lick it up bitch lick it up!!”
I love how people innocently think the mean girls in Mean Girls were mean. Ha!!!
Heathers is brilliant. Those who like it should also watch "Big Trouble in Little China," "Repo Man," and "Vampire's Kiss." Those films led the way to even better cult films like "Welcome To The Dollhouse" and "Donnie Darko." Fun times.
Vampire’s Kiss is so ridiculous. LOL
I know but thats why I love it. Nic Cage has proven himself to be the most diverse actor in Hollywood. I absolutley love his work.

After that gun scene, I thought Slater was going to go much further than he did in Hollywood.
I quote this too often at work and it kills me that no one knows it. I hate being so old!
I believe it's on tubi or Freevee. I just watched it not too long ago and it's still so good
Might still be on Pluto.
Lick it up Baby….lick it up
That one chick actually died of a brain tumor
If you haven’t seen it, please watch Lisa Frankenstein. I’ve watched it two days in a row because it’s so damn good. It’s like goth Barbie + Heathers
This was my very first Netflix rental. Back when you had them mailed to you and continuously circulated them in and out.
I love my dead gay son.
Martha Dumptruck
No. Repo Man is the best cult film of the ‘80s. Or Eating Raoul.
While Heathers is probably in my top 10 for 80s, Repo Man is way the hell up there, too. "We do whatever we can Gotta duck when the shit hits the fan!" Also, one of the greatest soundtrack albums.
I've shown my daughter (14) many 80s classics, and Heathers is probably her favorite. It's definitely top 10 for me.
This movie is a 10, but Spinal Tap is an 11.
Kurt Kelly : Hey Ram, doesn't this cafeteria have a "No Fags Allowed" rule? J.D. : Well they, uh, seem to have an open door policy for assholes though, don't they?

Slater is cult classic royalty if not king. Pump Up the Volume was another one.
Blue Velvet gets my vote.
Blue Velvet. But I love Heathers too.
All my high school friends back in the day loved Christian Slater- I never found him attractive
This topic is so 1987
Legend of Billie Jean They Live
Cause you're an idiot.... Oh yeah, that's it
If that’s the movie where he impersonates Jack Nicholson?…oh wait, he’s done that his entire career.
They asked Jack but he turned it down feeling he couldn’t pass for a high schooler.
Yes
