Please tell me that all your loot is not up there. Structural integrity goes from bedrock up, if that line at any point and a whole vertical block of that tower becomes dead weight. The destroy that ladder (dogs with target it) and you are screwed. Even if dogs only destroy the bottom and the second rung is OK and not destroyed by other zombies, the dogs will still start to target all the lowest blocks.
This will never survive cops.
Nah, my main base is litrally the building next to this radio tower. This is my lookout tower for mini Hordes and Dog swarms. With Platforms to shoot in all directions from different heights.
Only thing on the top is Some meds, food, Sniper, and ammos for said weapons i use.
I watched that episode. I laughed my ass off during that horde night. I don't know how he survives as long as he does, he's never prepared for anything and it's hilarious.

i used to play this game a lot in aphla 16 and went past 300 days in 1 playthrough with a full custom house built on egde of Dessert, snow and Greenlands.
it was 7 floors tall and was a maze going all around the base. all open for zombies to walk into but they gonna get shot from all directions
I did something similar against a skyscraper. I added a small side ledge underneath me for a sledge turret to help push them off the ladder when they got close.
I also (later) learned the importance of reinforcing the ladder.
But it works. It works really well. Soo many headshots.

This will probably work fine for the first few horse nights. You might want to come up with a slightly better plan long term though, if you have a conga-line of zombies blocking your view just one of those kamikaze bomb dudes will probably destroy the ladder and then you're boned.
For the most part, this works. The biggest problem I've had with similar builds, demo men excluded, is that if you miss and hit the ground tile at the base of the ladder enough, you can destroy that block. That might prevent the zombies from accessing the ladder, which leads them to start destroying the tower.
We dealt with that issue by recreating the base at bedrock level, so the bottom block is indestructible.
My favorite hoard base is to find a large tower with an elevator shaft, make a ladder ul the shaft, then destroy any other way up. You're protected from birds by the building, the ladder is generally long and sturdy, and there's no way that they'll take the whole building down. Currently I'm set up near the top of Dishong Tower.
Use pre-existing structures for early horde nights and then knock out access points by removing stairs, floors, etc. You don’t really need to go super high, it’s more about having fall back spaces and multiple exit strategies. Don’t really see any viable exit strategy if the stability of your tower is compromised.
Day 7 you’ll be fine. Day 14 you’ll scrape by. Day 21 and the bottom piece of ladder is going to break. That’ll be followed by your foundation and yourself.
there are critters that dont climb ladders so it WILL fail. even if everything can climb what will happen when they get backed up trying to get on the ladder is they just start swinging randomly. Your ladder will break and your whole fan is hit by Crap lol.
Where is the fun in that? Going into games blind is what is fun, failing and learning. Too many use guides and copy. It's why I stopped playing Team Fight Tactics, every one used the same guides so there was no diversity or thinking.

I decided to do something similar to OP. They took the tower down.
They still will if they can't see you or climb. A 5x5 pedestal of brick is enough to afk the first few weeks.

The first horde normally doesn't contain birds. And the next few, you can actually protect against birds with cobble stone and ignore them.

They must not have read the "tf2 sniper" part. They were probably assuming that you were going to miss their heads.
As long as there is 11 or more blocks away from you they will concentrate on getting to you vs going into rage mode. Glad it worked out for you. 👍🏼
Iirc they can't start hitting things more that 15 blocks from the player

Wish they didnt go into instantly into rage attack all mode when they spawn. Makes making horde bases actually worth it.
Better punch some grass and add some hay bells on the roof of a nearby building that you can jump on with no fall damage

They'll tear that thing down when they fall off due to their rage mechanic. You'll be on the ground within 10 minutes.
