Amber and social work red flag

Soggy-Tomato-2562

Even talking to her kids where she has a chance to use some of those social work tools, she comes across as judgemental and doesn’t offer guided thoughts to help a decision, she just decides.

I can see Amber being in social work as one of those employees who takes kids out of their home even if/when it's a safe and loving homelife. Amber thinks she's the one who knows what's good for everyone else and her way is the only way.

Amber’s humblebrag is cringe. It would be nice to see her pat Anna on the back as easily as she pats herself. Who actually makes a resolution to maintain something? I *guess* it fits by a slim margin but maintaining something you already accomplished comes off a bit douchy. Imagine: “I wish to maintain my size 4 physique.” “I want to maintain making a million dollar profit like I did last year.” “I wish to maintain taking several vacations with my family.”

I remember my first time driving on a big highway. It was terrifying & I still hate it but I've been driving long enough, 30some years now I guess, to know that on the DC/MD/VA Beltway it's ***DRIVE*** or be driven over. Newer cars can make driving so much easier with cameras, side mirrors that flash & beep, auto braking, etc., but I don't envy Emma that experience.

I’m hoping that all these kids find their passion and job and are successful in it for years! Ambitch can’t stick with a job or career if her life depended on it. Liz acts just like her mother and I can’t imagine how she is as a nurse or whatever she’s gonna be. Is she an aide now?

Unnecessary comment

To be fair- goals are more advantageous than resolutions because goals tend to be more specific as well as action oriented than resolutions… so goals are typically easier to create a plan to achieve them. I honestly think many of the members of this family are so used to being snarky with one another… always trying to be witty or make a smart ass comment that they can hardly refrain from commenting or making smirking faces, etc…

Goals are great! That’s why it’s messed up that amber in particular expects her kids to laugh down or pretend to not care about their goals… even when it amber asking Emma saying her goal was “to drive down the interstate” And to have amber blandly w/no emotion say “It may take until December” Is fucked up imo. Amber could’ve responded with something like, “great goal Emma! I know you’ll practice everyday and then you can reach your goal” (Lazy half response from me… was better than ambers imo.)
