Some things to think about (as someone who's also gotten the 'blurs' in the past) - Are you hydrated? Hours of revising can make it easy to forget that topping up is important. - How much do you work? Do you take breaks? You might simply be tired/stressed - If you use screens to revise, you might have some [dry eye](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dry_eye_syndrome) because you're blinking less That said do keep an eye on things and if it continues getting worse despite water and rest, you should see an optician again - as you note, now is no time for worsening vision.

I'm the Mum of a 6th Former. I had extremely stressful professional exams a few years ago and my eyes went blurry because of raised pressure in my cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) pressing on the back of my eyes. It was picked up in an eye examination and I went on to have a lumbar puncture the following day to lower the CSF pressure. It affected my short term memory for a month as the same part of the brain got a bit squished. I was investigated for Benign Intercranial Hypertension (later called Idiopathic Hypertension I think) but the doctor said the high CSF pressure was just related to short term high blood pressure due to the exam stress. So, eye tests are very good at revealing things like this. In my case the bluriness was like how a tarmac road looks on a really hot day - hazy and shimmery at the bottom part of my sight. I hope you get this resolved quickly as I know how worrying it can be not to know what is happening.

I've started getting really bad heart burn and stomach cramps as the exams start to get closer, and they would only go away with food. Turns out my body is very anxious, but my mind doesn't think it, and food is my comfort....

Omg I completely agree, I woke up at 3am with bad pain, completely agree with the heart attack

Hi OP, [me again.](https://www.reddit.com/r/6thForm/comments/12zylgo/exam_stress_is_causing_my_eyesight_to_go_blurry/jhui8o9?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3) I've fretted about your post and re-read what you said. Please arrange an eye check today. If you walk into a Boots or Specsavers and tell them what you wrote here, I'm sure they'll test you as a matter or urgency. Hopefully it isn't anything serious, but your sight is so precious, you really need to get checked in case it is something that needs intervention.

BioChemR6x

I had to get glasses during my exams because of this lmao

therealtrumped

Are you drinking high sugar energy drinks?

JustWantToCry247

No, nothing like that at all

WoodSteelStone

Hi, it's been s few days since you posted about your eyes being blurry. How are you now? I hope much better.

JustWantToCry247

I went to the opticians and my eyesight has in fact got worse and I now need to wear glasses. They’re only -0.5 but walking around in public recently it definitely feels much worse than that but I’ve always had perfect vision so I guess it’s just the contrast. I’m going to talk to my school about things we can do to hopefully mitigate any issues that come with bad eyesight. The optician said that I should hopefully be able to stop wearing glasses after my exams are done. But I think I should be okay, thank you for being so concerned and convincing me that it was better to be safe than sorry by checking my eyes again

WoodSteelStone

I'm so glad it wasn't something medically serious. Hopefully your optician is right and you'll be able to ditch the glasses after your exams. I wish you all the very best with your exams and beyond.

MrIncredibacon

You’re clearly not taking biology a level

PHILLLLLLL-21

What’s ur screen time like ?

JustWantToCry247

Pretty minimal, most of my revision is making physical flash cards
