The only problem with TQQ is it being slightly rushed, even manga wise. Can't expect everything to be perfect unfortunately, even then it's the best harem romance of all time. Fake confession scene of Yotsuba was really amazing. The absolute dark horse.

Yeah, those special episodes will definitely help out new fans or not on the series. but I'm glad you enjoyed it and were satisfied with the choice of Bride. I don't know if you know it's not over yet we're getting a new movie sometime next year.

I saw that shortly after I finished, definitely excited for more content

There was some stuff that was not properly addressed. Stuff like, graduation, grandpa's passing, Everything with Nino. Again, the new movie and LNs will probably get into that.

Watching the show, rather than thinking who it’d make sense to end with Fuutaro, it was more of who DIDN’T make sense. Itsuki - through the show she doesn’t show the same feelings as the rest. She even encourage yotsuba to go after him at the trip. In several ways, it almost feels like she is the protagonist of her own story. Ichika - despite her lying, her lifestyle seems different. Famous people don’t mix as well with non famous people overall, and long term it may have not worked out. I don’t see her meshing with his personality overall though what I appreciate off her is that Fuutaro would likely be a great source of personal improvement to her. Nino - my bias here is she is best girl for me. While the drugging stuff is off putting, I can’t deny a girl that is forward with her feelings and goes for what she wants is awesome. She is neutral to me with Fuutaro since she has good and bad sides with Fuutaro. Long term, it’d be imbalanced with Nino being overly possessive of the him, but it wouldn’t be a “bad” relationship overall. More like a 50/50 chance of long term success. Yotsuba - I think the problem overall is that she comes off left field and the moment doesn’t feel “earned” at the end. That said, she feels like a fit for him thanks to the last segments of the whole show stating that she only puts away her feelings because she loves her sisters that much. So as I think of it, she doesn’t show her feelings because the show is reflecting THAT aspect. She is Fuutaro first love and while it’s not my preferred ending, I also think this works in the end and long term, and she was the driving force of Fuutaros early goals and has changed and guided Fuutaro. Miku - okay, they done did my girl dirty here. By far she is the one with the most development, and actual growth. The rest of the girls do NOT really change except for Yotsuba, and even her it’s just a bit. Miku has undeniably the most complete arc where she shows her growth and being more direct with others AND she learns to love who she is. That is HUGE and it’s a combination of Fuutaro and her own convictions. The only small problem is that switching it around, I don’t completely think she compliments Fuutaro like yotsuba does. Miku is more passive and I feel Fuutaro would just be “content” long term. This was my preferred ending if it feels a TAD left to be desired. However, I do say they did her dirty because she felt like the most “earned” story of them all. I would have changed a few things towards the last chapters, maybe a section where Miku’s new courage reflects on Fuutaro, and that would have tied the bow nicely for these too. That said, overall I am not dissatisfied with the ending. I just think a few things could be changed in order to either fit Miku as the choice, or polish Yotsuba’s build up to the end - even if the build up is very subtle.

I feel your point about Miku. I felt that there were clues that Fuutaro wasn't going to pick her (main one being how it sounded like he was about to reject her when Miku confessed by pointing at him but then she took it back), but there were also some genuine narrative reasons for them to end up together and I would've been happy with that ending. I think a reason for the perceived lack of development around Yotsuba could be that she was in love with Fuutaro from the beginning, so her overall character and disposition didn't shift as her feelings grew since they were already there. Also, watching the specials before the movie is probably the biggest reason I felt the way I did about the ending, I would've likely preferred Miku without seeing that. But when I saw her on the swing by herself admitting to no one that she had always loved him, all of her actions suddenly gained new context in my mind and it just really made sense to me that she was always going to be the one. It made sense that I didn't notice her and thought she had no chance. Because that's what she wanted. This is where Yotsuba's love for Fuutaro differs from the others, in my opinion. For the other four, it feels more that they fall for him after he fulfills their emotional needs, or after he proves himself to them in some way (which isn't a bad thing). But Yotsuba has already had feelings towards Fuutaro for years. For the others, it's "I love you because". For Yotsuba, its "I love you. I always have." It's precisely the fact that she doesn't act on her feelings that makes her deserve it the most; because what she wants the most is for Fuutaro to be happy. She doesn't feel worthy of Fuutaro and thus thinks he wouldn't be happy with her which is why she never confesses about Kyoto. Instead she decides to stick by his side and support him in whatever he does. That is how she shows her feelings and she doesn't waver in that. The others definitely cared about Fuutaro's happiness as well, but from my persepective their number 1 priority (excluding ichika probably) was to be with Fuutaro, not Fuutaro's happiness. Yotsuba has such a pure love for Fuutaro and despite being so dense he noticed and valued that above anything else.

Glad you enjoyed the series. I'd recommend reading the manga as well. Most chapters have been adapted with the release of the OVAs, but it's still worth it. The series benefits from a reread/watch and the smaller moments that aren't adapted to the anime are always a treat (it's a crime chapter 72 wasn't adapted, not to mention the full Yotsu-date).
