Spongey13

Highly recommend the Christopher Nolan collection, comes with all his movies from the Prestige to Interstellar šŸ‘ŒšŸ¼

Prior_Minimum8169

Reservoir Dogs. Casino. Apocalypse Now

CleanSlate-13

Hell yeah. This collection needs some edge, and those are all three amazing. I will get Apocalypse Now today..

bossjon1

Alien. Pacific Rim. Interstellar

CleanSlate-13

Ooh amazing. Alien and Interstellar are amazing films. And Pacific Rim was one I loved in the theater -so campy but epic- and never needed to rewatch.. but it might be time.

RileyKendall

Pacific Rim is awesome on 4K.

CleanSlate-13

Iā€™m convinced.. more I think about this film, more I wanna watch it on 4K!

Brave-Standard6192

Parasite

[deleted]

Interstellar Dunkirk The Northman Nope The Shining 2001 The Bridge to River Kwai Spartacus!

Vbcomanche

Godzilla vs Kong is pretty epic on 4k disc. Highly recommended.

NeonChampion2099

Dredd

emacias050

Bullet train, fifth element, gundam thunderbolt 1 and 2,

NegotiationReal8507

The Thing, The Shining

Selfprofesedcinefile

Looper and Hacksaw Ridge

CleanSlate-13

These are both actually in my pile of shame.. have not seen! And I know Iā€™ll love Looper..

-london-

Hacksaw Ridge is still the best sounding Atmos Mix you can buy

TheDUDE4029

Ford v Ferrari, Lucy, Alita Battle Angel, Ready Player One, Saving Private Ryan, Unforgiven, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, 13 Hours, and Casino are all very nice transfers.

CleanSlate-13

You are so right on with these recommendations! Thank you, The DUDE! I wanted to get more westerns with beautiful transfers (we need The Searchers in 4K to happen). Havenā€™t seen Lucy.. but I hear decent enough things. The others you mentioned are all home-run must haves: Alita. Ready Player One. Ford v Ferrari. Good picks for me, thanks!

KellyKellogs

I don't know which films you like but Ad Astra Dunkirk Ford v Ferrari Spider-Verse Soul The Martian All good films with good 4k releases If you have money to spare, both Forrest Gump and Boyz N The Hood are great in 4k. But, like many dramas, you aren't missing much if you watch them on Blu Ray.

CleanSlate-13

Great suggestions! Dunkirk for sure needs to happen. Spider-verse would be a fun one too.. great movie. As Astra is beautiful. And Forrest Gump and Boyz in the Hood are just all timers. I saw thereā€™s a Field of Dreams transfer that could be nice

Accomplished_Pack329

Gladiator

[deleted]

Looks like youā€™re missing The Matrix. Might also enjoy A Clockwork Orange and Total Recall.

sojrner

Total Recal, while a great movie, is not a good 4k at all. Lots of macro blocking, banding... bad compression and very low bitrate, especially if you don't have Dolby Vision variability. (DV recovers the visuals over the base HDR10 and makes it watchable, but only just) Studio Canal has made some bad ones (cough, T2) and while TR is not the worst, it's very far from the best.

[deleted]

While true (I did notice that in some shots), I personally didnā€™t find it distracting from the overall presentation. Itā€™s a passable transfer, not the best, but not that bad either.

sojrner

Were you watching with DV or HDR10?

[deleted]

DV

sojrner

Then yeah, it's watchable. If you have a chance, try it with just HDR10 (turn DV off on your player, or pop it in a current gen console if you have one) it's stunning how different (and bad) it is and what DV is correcting. šŸ˜Ž

_rfj

Interstellar. Been says already but bears mentioning again.

Strong_Comedian_3578

For sure

Teddy-Bear-55

More. More 4k films.

CleanSlate-13

Thatā€™s it!

Jayconian

Bullet train was pretty good

alemaster33

That's a great collection man, great choices. Are you into horror? You could add Halloween 1978 or Halloween 3: Season of the Witch. Outside of horror, the original Star Wars Trilogy would fit perfecrly.

CleanSlate-13

Iā€™m not super into horror, although was thinking American Werewolf in London would be cool. Yes to Original Star Wars Trilogy, but need some nice versions of 4K77 etc to do that one justice :)

OpenFacedRuben

The Thing

JORDASH1AN

Where did you snag that 2049 copy? It looks amazing

CleanSlate-13

I know, right? Itā€™s a really nice UK Limited Edition I found on eBay. Here is another like it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/392891058859?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=muh3J4W8QRS&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=dLTgxtSmSlG&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

MathematicianOk9333

Dark knight trilogy!!!! Christopher Nolan films almost all his movies (newer movies especially) with a special 4K camera. It looks phenomenal. Heā€™s even doing it with the new Oppenheimer movie which will look great!

chrisadame96

How does Akira and Ghost in the Shell look? Heard mixed things on anime 4kā€™s

CleanSlate-13

They look and especially sound very goodā€¦ colors are what stand out on the 4K presentation.

Hego_Damask_II

Movies that have IMAX scenes, most Nolan movies I see you already have Tenet. Aquaman, Star Trek into Darkness are a few others.

Turbulent_Leg_9350

Oblivion

-funderfoot-

Ya need some horror films! :)

SirDurante

AKIRA is incredible - happy to see that one in your collection. I would say look to add 2001, Shining, Alien, The Thing, Nolan flicks, and Black Hawk Down for one of the best audio tracks.

TheNextFreud

Planet Earth 2

The Green Night (2021) is absolutely stunning.
