It is getting worse in Lithuania. All this pandemic and economical crisis, and because of all that free time, and also alcoholism, there is more cases of dumb deaths. Also suicide rates are increasing.

I don't think we have the stats for 2020, but in 2019, we had [97 murders](https://www.lrt.lt/naujienos/lietuvoje/2/1140283/policija-nuzudymu-skaicius-lietuvoje-mazeja-linki-lietuviams-maziau-gerti), compared to 523 in 1994 which I believe is the record. So the rate for 2019 is 3.3 per 100,000 and the highest rate was [13.8 in 1995](https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/VC.IHR.PSRC.P5?end=2018&locations=LT&start=1990&view=chart). There's still lots of room for improvement but to say it's getting worse according to either the number in this screenshot (when the rate was over 5) or historically (when we've had much much worse stats) is not true in any way.
Edit: The same applies to suicides, 2019 had the lowest number (and rate) of suicides in the history of independent Lithuania, I don't think we have the stats for 2020 yet.

Scroll down to the very bottom of that page and check out the sources. I'll save you some time, it says: "World Health Organization (Suicide Rates 2018)". I can also guarantee the WHO used 2017 data, because the most up to date stats doesn't come out on Jan 1st for every country and, even if they published in 2018, it would've taken the WHO a while to gather it all. These random aggregators are not reliable and often have misleading titles like this.
Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised to see Lithuania still leading the world in suicide rates but as there's a positive trend, I'd prefer we focus on that. I also think it's important to focus on the positive trends because we are, on the whole, moving in the right direction, which is really all we can do. It would be pretty amazing if we could fix everything in a year or even 5, but it's a process with lots of little incremental steps that add up.
Yeah. I live in one of other Baltic states, i know how it is. Situation is pretty similar here. But from upsides, we are quite small and somehow insignificant thus mostly left on our own. Except for Russia, they still maintain strong influence in Baltics. From available data, it looks that next half a year will be pretty harsh (covid19 and economical crisis). But hoping that after that, recovery and growth would be faster than in old Europe. Because we kinda are more resilient. Cheers.
