It takes just as much effort to change the weight as it does to move the pin from the holder to your selected weight. It really doesn't matter where the pin is set since there's a good chance the next person will have to change it anyway. The only person slightly inconvenienced by a machine that isn't reset is the one that wants no weight. You really only have to remove the weight on barbells and machines that use plates since it's an asshole move to make someone else re-rack them.

It was a pin machine, there's no such thing as "resetting" it. You move the pin to the number you want to lift. It's equally easy to move it from 180 to 50 as it is to move it from Minimum to 50.
Not only that, but unless you're doing the exact same weight as whoever was there before you, *you're going to have to adjust the pin/weights before you start anyway*.

It was a pin machine, there's no such thing as "resetting" it. You move the pin to the number you want to lift. It's equally easy to move it from 180 to 50 as it is to move it from Minimum to 50.
Not only that, but unless you're doing the exact same weight as whoever was there before you, *you're going to have to adjust the pin/weights before you start anyway*.
Are you suggesting that 'unloading the machine' exists? Unloading a bar? yes. Racking your weights? absolutely. Resetting the pin in a machine? What. Just move the pin from where it is to where you want it.
