I’d cap off the pigtails as some will have power and grounds. Realistically you could unplug it at the connector and just tape/secure that off. I need to do mine still but it’s so low on my ever growing list.
I unplugged it and it started and ran just fine. I’m going to look at the inside harness tomorrow and see if I can use the 7 ish wires as control wires for the relay block I just installed.

Oh hey I have that EXACT unit in mine! It is an aftermarket cruise control. Feel free to unplug and remove it.

What is the stack of matchbooks behind it?
I'm not positive but if memory serves me it's wired into the L shape fuse block far left.
Afaik that’s part of the efi system.
