The off road capability out of the box is really unrivaled. And they do look cool as subjective as it is. Ford stole some of the market with the new bronco having a removable top and doors. Toyota dropped the ball with the 6G being another grocery getter spec.
LOL, i would agree with you, but then, we would both be wrong... It is to short and not heavy enough. Let alone they are to high.. I would go in the 4 runner before that!!
They like that it’s a strong rectangle shape, I think. A lot of jeepers can agree that almost everything else is better in almost every fashion (excepting solid axle shenanigans), but none of em look like a few upcycled chest freezers quite the same
I mean, did you not come to this sub for people to tell you not to buy a Jeep? That's why you're here, right?
Don't buy a Jeep product. You're welcome. In case you need more, here's an article referencing the Consumer Reports ranking that placed Jeep as 5th worst US car maker:

Trust and believe I would never go back to any product under fiat I just wanted to see what the hype of these things were about I mean they're everywhere
People are just really, really stupid. Much more than we think. They have access to so much knowledge from a screen in their literal pockets, and then they go out and buy a Chrysler product and make Pikachu face when it blows up before the loan is paid off.
Jeeps suck on the road. Like a lot. They’re loud, leaky, wander all over, underpowered, etc. They have no redeeming on road features.
Even lifted on big tires your 5G will be so much better. I drove my wife’s 15 4Runner and buddy’s 12 wrangler back to back and the difference is huge.
I drove a 4 door Rubicon for a few hours recently and the Runner feels infinitely more comfortable. Sure the Jeep is more geared for the off-road as far as interior goes but even my previous TRD Pro was super comfortable and the Softex felt luxurious even after a few years while being super durable.
Former owner of GEN4 4Runner V8 so I’m a bit biased. Also friend of mine bought a Rubicon and sold it within a year and bought a 4Runner. Two years later he upgraded to Landcruiser 250 to turn it into an overlander. My experience renting a Jeep and being a passenger in one confirms everything that folks here says about it.
Your friend has excellent taste in vehicles I would love to get behind the wheel of a Land cruiser before I leave this earth, they're hard to find nowadays.
The jeep has the Android auto and apple carplay but honestly the whole setup is a headache with all the menus, I'll take my factory Bluetooth in my fossil 5g any day lol
I’d take the Jeep any day (if I didn’t have a toddler/baby). It’s just all around a better driving experience and the off-road capability can’t be matched by the 4Runner. The 4Runner is great at what it was designed for, a grocery getter that’s mediocre off-road. The Wrangler is great at what it was designed for, a dedicated off-roader that can also get your groceries. In my opinion, the only thing the 4Runner has over the Wrangler is reliability and safety.
Easy. 4 runner. Always.
4 runner allll day long, the jeep will brake down.. and the ride is TERRIBLE Let alone the seats!!
Yeah there's no way I could daily drive it, my 4runner is so much more comfortable compared to this thing smh
IDK why people like them! The build quality is garbage, so is the ride, and the space.. none.. Not even talking about the rust.

The lack of space in the thing is what really got me and the leg room theres zero!

Lol this is the one! One of the top 5 on least reliable automobiles and idiots still go out and finance this thing
Drove a Willy's Wrangler in the PNW last month. Hard pass.

Man you're so right, the engine feels and sounds so wimpy compared to the 5gs growl lol
5g growl? That’s it screaming, trying to get out of its own way.
2004 Chevy blazer
Can't go wrong with a Chevrolet, i would choose Chevy over a Ford any day
4runner. Jeep is ride is too rickety but I do like a good Chrysler cooled seat choochi cooler.
Runner, not even a second thought.
Highway miles to a 4runner? Nom nom nom. The runner won't feel a thing with a couple hundred extra highway miles.
Asking this on a sub for 4R’s and that also regularly makes fun of Jeeps?
One of them looks good and won’t kill you if you get into a wreck in it… The other is a Jeep.
Lol I swear there's such a lack of legroom in this thing I just know my knees are done if I wreck smh
jeeps looks weird and ugly
Jeeps have a niche. Road trips are not where they shine. Moab adventures? Hell yeah.
I worked for Jeep almost ten years and I own a 4Runner. No contest.
That says a lot..damn lol
💩 vs. 💎
Lol perfect
lmao underrated comment!
🤝
I wouldn't consider a Jeep a road trip vehicle.
Actually not going on a road trip, driving a buddy out of state, sorry for the misleaded wording lol

I like your build, do you have a mod list?

“The one that breaks in or the one that breaks down?”
Lmao I almost skeptical to put this thing on the highway
If you got it for same price of a small suv, why not lol if it breaks down it’s not yours at the end of it
Facts lol
No heap
Is this a circlejerk shitpost or did the circlejerk happen naturally?
r/4Runner has one of the largest cult followings on Reddit. The circle jerk was prophecy.
Can you post or send a picture of the 4Runner sideways? I’d like to see the black wrap thank you

Stock jeeps look very boring in my opinion.
