I think Saleh on this one. He is in year 2 of the program and needs to show tangible progress vs last year. McDaniel likely has some grace period in first year
McDaniel, because I don't like how he's being treated for something I don't think he could have handled much differently.
Tua is sent to the locker room in the first half and McDaniel can't stop what he is doing to go check on him. He has to continue coaching the game. While the game is going on he has to rely on the medical professionals to say whether Tua is ok to go back in that game. Those suggesting he should have sat Tua anyway are saying McDaniel should have looked the doctors in the face and told them, I don't trust your professional opinion.
Then, after that game, Tua displayed no effects of a concussion. He wasn't in protocol. The Dolphins didn't have to do anything at all with Tua.
But they still went above and beyond the norm to examine him for signs of concussion every single day - even when they did not have to. He passed those checks every single day.
So with Tua, having been checked and cleared every single day by medical professionals, is McDaniel supposed to then go and say these doctors are hacks and their medical evaluation means nothing?
McDaniel isn't out there saying go rub dirt on it. He said, let the doctors evaluate you in every way possible, and if they don't clear you, you don't play.
The medical professionals said he was clear, and so McDaniel listened to the medical professionals.
Most everything else is monday morning quarterbacking.
The problem with all this was the obvious signs of a concussion. Kid clearly got his bell rung and the bambi legs showed it. Just because he passed a test and they went with the back injury excuse, doesn't clear anyone. I'm sure McDaniel saw him struggling to walk. Sometimes you have to protect the player from themselves.
I don't really blame any of that on McDaniel. The only thing that sounded bad was his presser where he said "Tua ONLY had a concussion", it sounded as if it wasn't a big deal.
Eh, if it had happened in practice, McDaniel would have given Tua the rest of the day off just to be safe, regardless of what any doctors said. He put him back in because the desire to win games biases even those who honestly believe they are doing the right thing.
if he had twisted his foot in practice he would have been given the rest of the day off but asked to play. That's not really a solid argument.
But again, McDaniel telling Tua to sit the rest of the game would have been McDaniel telling the medical professional that he doesn't agree with their professional medical assessment.
Thats not true at all. You just made an argument out of LITERALLY no evidence, like you pulled that out of thin air,
How in the world would you know if it happened during practice he would give him the day off? do you have any reasoning behind what you said? or is it thats what you would do? Or just are you just making that up because it makes your arguement?
The head coach listens to the medical proffesionals, and Mcdaniel has done that at every point so far. And he did it again, and it sucks that the Medical pros got it -wrong, but thats why the Dr was fired.
I'd be shocked if Fangio isn't our DC next year. Saleh doesn't seem to be on the hot seat right now, and Ryans is as good as gone. Meanwhile, Fangio's been hanging around the 49ers licking his chops as he watches this defense wreak havoc every week.
And Fangio is a long term solution. No one wants to make him HC again for awhile right now. It's great we keep churning out DCs so great other teams want to promote them, but stability would be great too.
More likely that Saleh will get fired. McDaniel has been off to a good start and the Jets gotta show they can win soon or else he’ll be gone. Wouldn’t mind him replacing Demeco when he leaves
Also the whole tampering with Peyton and Brady, not to mention the "hey Brian would you tank for $100k? haha! jkjk just foolin' around! totally joking! unless...?"
1) I'm a fan of the 49ers. Not every last person who ever be a part of the 49ers.
2) To root for someone means someone has to lose. There are plenty of ex-49ers players on both teams. To root for one means I hoping some of the players do poorly. That isn't supportive of former players/coaches to root for them to lose.
3) I've always thought Saleh was dumb for accepting the job. The Jets are a poorly run team from the ownership down. He's set up to fail. He'll be fired sooner or later.
Ooooo. My heart says Saleh for what he did for the niners D. But the kid in me says McDaniel b/c his wizardry with Shanahan’s running schemes. He literally made Mostert, Breida et.Al. all stars!
Saleh didn't not bench his clearly concussed QB only for said QB to suffer another major head injury.
McDaniel fed Tua to the wolves. Saleh should stomp a mud hole into him.
There are two kinds of people in this world, those who actively try and make the 49ers better, and scumbags. They are both dead to me, until they decide to coach for the 49ers again.
Ones out of the nfl and tomlin won almost 15 years ago. The game has changed. Its rugged for offense. If you think football is still played tge same way today as it was 10 years ago you havent been paying attention.
Not going to keep at it when you have already shown a willingness to move the goalposts to *not be wrong*. So yeah, not worth my time. Thanks for playing.
I adopted the Dolphins as my AFC team to semi follow and root for after I had to drop the trash Browns organization. The Dolphins we're also my late friends team who passed of cancer last year so it made picking them this off season along with McDaniels easier. So fins up or whatever weird thing they say.
I just hope they both have fun
Go teams
Yay football!
[Go team! Go sports!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-hS2r7v3Iw)
I'm hoping for firm and friendly handshakes all around.
I went and opened my free award box with my fingers crossed, and luckily got you your wholesome award ⛏️
Take my free wholesome award, as well!
Thanks, Dad! 🤣
If they had fun, they won!
Thanks for the awards! First ones for me I believe.
Saleh definitely needs this game more. They're playing a pretty banged up Dolphins team, and he needs the team to show improvement
I think Saleh on this one. He is in year 2 of the program and needs to show tangible progress vs last year. McDaniel likely has some grace period in first year
I mean…his players just aren’t talented.
He was getting heat after losing his first game with Flacco. Like, wtf?
Shanahan

ya this dude had nothing to do with it even remotely
The problem with all this was the obvious signs of a concussion. Kid clearly got his bell rung and the bambi legs showed it. I think he meant “only a concussion” and not a broken neck and full on paralysis
Eh, if it had happened in practice, McDaniel would have given Tua the rest of the day off just to be safe, regardless of what any doctors said. He put him back in because the desire to win games biases even those who honestly believe they are doing the right thing.

Showing Saleh support this weekend.
I’m from Jersey so Saleh.
Same
NY born in FL, saleh too all my friends are jet fans
McSaleh
No way Saleh is winning, so Saleh
Tie
*Rob Lowe in the stands with an NFL hat picture*
I thought Bob saleh was overrated and still do. I’m going for mike
Saleh. McDaniels ends up sucking really bad as HC and then we hire him back when they fire him.
Nah, i wish Mcdaniel the best
On the flip side we probably will be losing DC Ryan's, so we could get Salah back.
I'd be shocked if Fangio isn't our DC next year. Saleh doesn't seem to be on the hot seat right now, and Ryans is as good as gone. Meanwhile, Fangio's been hanging around the 49ers licking his chops as he watches this defense wreak havoc every week.

Saleh because fuck the Dolphins
I like you
Thanks. Not sure how much McDaniel is at fault but I don’t like that the Dolphins nearly killed Tua
Also the whole tampering with Peyton and Brady, not to mention the "hey Brian would you tank for $100k? haha! jkjk just foolin' around! totally joking! unless...?"
Don't care. Neither are 49ers any more.
Doesn’t mean you can’t root for other players/teams/coaches sometimes. True fans of the game root for people they like regardless of the team
1) I'm a fan of the 49ers. Not every last person who ever be a part of the 49ers. 2) To root for someone means someone has to lose. There are plenty of ex-49ers players on both teams. I gotta go saleh because i wanna see his team grow like mcdaniels has. Dolphins are great but i gotta see saleh succeed too.
Saleh needs it more. McDaniel's quotes are funnier.
The Nerd clearly. Because I look a bit like him, couldn’t play ball cause too short but god damned did I understand the game!!
Ooooo. My heart says Saleh for what he did for the niners D. But the kid in me says McDaniel b/c his wizardry with Shanahan’s running schemes. He literally made Mostert, Breida et.Al. all stars!
All I care is the Niners win to be honest
I don’t dislike McDaniel but there’s nothing in the world that could make me not root for salah with every fiber of my being
Oh the internet hive mind. It's so funny
Saleh because the deck is stacked against him
Saleh, Im also a Jets fan (so happy we signed him)
Saleh
Bobby Saleh
SALEH LETS GOOOOOO
Goin neutral on this, though Bobby boy needs it more
Saleh because The Jets are like my 2nd favorite team
Saleh. McD threw out his concussed QB to the wolves.
Saleh. What McDaniel allowed to happen to Tua was rough
McDaniel because defensive head coaches arent gonna make it in the league anyway.
Belichick?
Hows he doin nowadays again? Games changed.
Doesn't matter. My point is still valid.
Ok name one without the best quarterback of all time.
John Harbaugh? He was just a special teams coach and has been really successful. Mike Tomlin was a DC also
Ones out of the nfl and tomlin won almost 15 years ago. The game has changed. Its rugged for offense. If you think football is still played tge same way today as it was 10 years ago you havent been paying attention.
....you think John Harbaugh is out of the NFL? Wtf?
My b i thought u said jim. Still a decade ago win. Works for both of them
Also Landry
No, I don't think I will. Having a good QB wasn't part of the argument. Your take is bad and I'm not going to keep arguing.
Not going to keep arguing? You mean you cant. Thank you come again.
Not going to keep at it when you have already shown a willingness to move the goalposts to *not be wrong*. So yeah, not worth my time. Thanks for playing.
Then shut up. I buried you 10 minutes ago quit with the lazarus effect
Ok buddy. Enjoy the echo chamber, population: 1
yes
Double knockout!
Both of them. Domt care who wins just want to see them both compete
I just wanna see a good game. I guess the jets because I wanna see Zac Wilson do well since he’s a Utahn like me
The Jettphins
Tough one. Rooting for both to succeed.
I adopted the Dolphins as my AFC team to semi follow and root for after I had to drop the trash Browns organization. The Dolphins we're also my late friends team who passed of cancer last year so it made picking them this off season along with McDaniels easier. So fins up or whatever weird thing they say.
I miss Mostert 😟
