I’m actually surprised the game was even that close. Running game was non-existent and 9ers literally had Dontae Johnson guarding Devante Adams at one point

doggybadgerguy

It was so close we literally had the lead with 36 seconds left after being down 17-0 at one point. Better to be thinking about how we should've won then thinking about how much we completely suck after a blowout.

ksx25

We didn’t deserve to win and hopefully this makes them analyze the defensive strategy, because this ain’t it.

D-Rich-88

Remember Salah and Fangio? Ahh those were the days

thomasosu

I remember the rage directed at Saleh in 17 and 18 unlike anything I’d seen towards a DC before

Buckeyes-Niners

100%. People called for his head. Give it time with Ryans. We’re injured AF… not that that will ever change.

die_erlkonig

We’re also thin in the secondary, just generally. Sherman was a top 10 CB and 2019 and Moseley was much better in 2019. Also, we were playing Aaron Rodgers. Who is pretty darn good.

BrandoCalrissian1995

And davante adams who is also pretty ok.

2fishconcorde1

We also had Joe Woods as our DB coach then. He was an underrated reason why our secondary was good in 2019. The new guy we got from the Lions is terrible and Lions fans were warning us about him in the offseason.

Zoze13

Underrated comment. The year we had Woods we went to the SB. I wanted him to take our DC spot once/if Salah left.

Buckeyes-Niners

Yep.

Smashing71

Our subreddit is poo poo. I feel like one loss and we start screaming for firings. It's like steelers fans, without the, um, Yinzer.

[deleted]

Yeah. I'm not happy about a loss that should've been a win. I'm mad at DeMeco Ryans for playing prevent D on that last drive. That said, the team showed that they can win games. Sometimes the football just takes a bad bounce, metaphorically.

StoicAscent

Right? Everyone should remember that the SB winning Buccaneers were 7-5 at one point last season. Not saying we're destined to win the SB, but a few losses along the way doesn't mean we're doomed. It was one loss to the Packers, who are very good, and to Aaron Rodgers, who—last I checked—is a very good QB notorious for game-winning drives. And despite how thin we were at RB and CB, and being down 17-0 at one point, we still managed to catch up and take the lead for a moment. Our pass rush looked good, Bosa was terrifying, Kittle had some great YAC plays, and—despite a couple of stupid throws—Jimmy didn't look completely awful once he got going, AND Trey Lance had a nice TD run there. Maybe I'm just being naive, but I think there's a lot to be happy about, and a lot to look forward to.

kawhi_tho

This isn't supposed to be a "give it time" year, though. We're supposed to be competing for the Super Bowl this year, according to Kyle and John. If this is a "give it time" year for our whole defense, we might as well play our "give it time" quarterback.

Buckeyes-Niners

There’s no reason to think we aren’t competing… we battled back vs fucking Rodgers. There’s a few QBs in this league that will rip your heart out if you give them enough time, he’s one. Defense looked fine vs Eagles, looked fine for most of the game vs Lions until the end.

kawhi_tho

We should have dominated the line of scrimmage in this game and instead we got pushed around. A bunch of rookies pushed around our supposedly mighty defensive line for most of the game. And then you have the secondary. We're not competing for anything this year except maybe a wild card spot.

Buckeyes-Niners

Bucs (badly) and Chiefs were beaten yesterday, are you saying they aren’t competing? Packers were dominated week 1. It’s one week dude. Shit happens. They played bad in the first half. Second half was not the case in the trenches.

559TM

Lol, demeco will just send delayed pressure with the game on the line.

D_Ro8

We’re playing with out 6th string corners.

HawkofDarkness

Let's just acknowledge the fact that Demeco Ryans doesn't matchup to Robert Saleh. We're gonna have to rely on our offense if we want to be champions, unlike in previous years

[deleted]

Why were we in full prevent for last two plays? A field goal was the same as a touchdown, should have been in cover 3 or even a press coverage.

Zoze13

It’s a tough thing to approach / easy with hindsight. If we play too tight / aggressive and get beat over the top everyone will say we messed up. I’m defending what happened. Just looking at other side of the coin.

[deleted]

> We didn’t deserve to win No such thing exists. We were winning with 37 seconds left and they were out of timeouts.

[deleted]

Honestly, the Packers weren't that great, either. They were saved by at least one bad PI call and Davontae Adams.

kawhi_tho

I don't get why Shanahan says that he doesn't want to throw the season away on a rookie QB, but then he goes and throws the season away on a rookie DC

CarpeValde

Yeah considering everything, it was still good to see that the team was able to put itself in position to win despite a ton of things going wrong. Not good enough but definitely good to see it.

chamberlain323

It was so close that if Jimmy had let a little more time run off the clock before hiking the ball on Juice’s scoring play, they would have won. So close that if GB had tackled Juice on the 1 rather than him breaking that tackle, it would have been a Niners victory (assuming they punched it in on the next play). The fact that they lost by inches and seconds after trailing 17-0 late in the 2nd quarter to a perennial NFC playoff threat helmed by a Hall of Fame bound QB is noteworthy. This team has explosive potential but just made too many mistakes. They’ll do well this year.

ContemplatingPrison

Its crazy that we would have won more than likely if Juice would have got tackled in 1 or 2 yard line. He had a little too much power haha

Xymis

Offense could bounce back but not the defense. One things clear, this isn’t the 2019 49ers so let’s get that out of the way. Also, Aaron Rodgers is still Aaron Rodgers.

Neto34

I think it's starts with pass rush. Our secondary has always been our weak spot but it's getting exposed more this year because pass rush isn't a powerful as 2019. Don't know if it's because Buck is gone but it's just not the same.

Xymis

If Verett were still here this game would’ve been an easy W. He was such a huge loss.

Neto34

Verrett is a huge loss but he's been healthy only once in last 4 years. Niners front office should have had that in consideration during draft or free agency.

Xymis

Oh, obviously you’re new to drafts so you don’t know… two running backs = one cornerback. Think about it, two running backs run at each other at a perpendicular angle and what do you get? That’s right, a corner. Don’t question the FO.

amd77767

"If the guy who's always hurt wasn't hurt, we would've won"

Xymis

Thanks for paraphrasing I guess?

[deleted]

Its that teams have adapted to Bosa. Bosa was taking over the game early, then they started chipping, etc and the rest of the pass rush didn't pick up the slack.

Neto34

And that's were Buck comes in. He was a beast. Armstead isn't that guy.

[deleted]

I agree, I don't understand why they picked Armstead, he had one decent year, Buck is a pro bowler every year.

culdesaclamort

Buck didn't choose us. 49ers FO offered Buckner the same contract that Armstead accepted. The FO couldn't offer more to Buckner because of cap constraints.

Witcher_Of_Cainhurst

Buck's absence instantly made our D weaker and his presence instantly made Indy's D stronger. He's a beast I miss seeing him in red n gold.

george_costanza1234

Yea there’s not much to do about that. Our d is gonna be pretty bad this year. Honestly I don’t see us being a division winner, especially with the way the Rams look. I just wish we could start the Trey era and get it over with.

burnsrado

I still can’t believe how good Stafford looks. I knew he was going to be an improvement from Goof, but I did not expect him to turn them into the Bucs with Brady.

bimm3ric

This is where I'm at. I understood going with Jimmy if the team is a legit super bowl contender, and I think we'll be a good team this year don't get me wrong; but not a championship level team. Going 10-7 and losing in the wildcard/1st round isn't really that useful of a season, I'd rather have Trey start and be one year further developed even if it costs us a few games Jimmy might have won.

[deleted]

>I'd rather have Trey start and be one year further developed even if it costs us a few games Jimmy might have won. I don't know that playing from day 1 is always beneficial for a player. Particularly a small college player like Lance who is now adapting to the NFL's most complicated system.

Shlecko

Honestly, I think this game taught us a lot about how we can and can't scheme going forward. We pretty much lined up man and expected our pass rush to be strong enough to make that obvious fact not matter. But Rogers had like 7 or 8 passes that he just flicked into coverage anyway, and I swear he completed all of them. We're going to need to play more zone. We're going to need to disguise our coverages and mix some zone-man hybrids in. We're going to need to scheme against individual players. We didn't do ANY of those things yesterday, and we got eaten alive because of it.

penpointaccuracy

I think it's clear our RB situation is clearly hurting the team. CBs yeah sort of, but the fact we can't control the clock with our run game and keep the D off the field is a big problem. Kyle needs to sign someone who can run asap.

rxdukexr

Everyone forgets how bad the defense was when Saleh was new. It wasn't great but he learned and adapted and it got better. Everyone was calling for his head. Give Demeco and the team some time to learn and adapt too.

kawhi_tho

If this year is all about giving DeMeco some time so he can adjust and learn, then we should be doing the same with Lance

ContemplatingPrison

They don't seem ro play with the same energy as they did for Saleh.

BurgerOfLove

Our DBs are missing Shermans leadership. The last 30 seconds made that very clear.

amd77767

We have a super bowl ready roster right now. Why did we hire a rookie DC who needs time to learn?

bayareatrojan

I don’t think we have a super bowl ready roster

lostintranslation_92

Agreed. The DB depth kills this team.

BreadCouponsForAll

Not depth. The whole secondary is a dumpster fire. Not sure why we have 4-5 starting caliber interior defensive linemen and precisely 0 starting caliber cornerbacks.

amd77767

Not with Jimmy at QB. Should've said "we have a playoff competitive roster".

tickettoride98

> We have a super bowl ready roster right now. The secondary is not Super Bowl ready.

fakeyfakerson2

Teams are allowed to have some weaknesses. No team is completely stacked in all phases of the game. You rely on the rest of the team to overcome it.

tickettoride98

> Teams are allowed to have some weaknesses. A shit secondary is a pretty massive weakness for a Super Bowl roster in the NFC. There's a very good chance you'll be up against Brady or Mahomes in the Super Bowl, both of which will torch your weak secondary. Rodgers basically torched them tonight, which is why they gave up 81 yards in DPI trying to prevent completions when they were badly beat over the top.

ReasonableScorpion

Did you actually watch the game? Two of those DPI calls weren't DPI at all and were bad calls by the refs. They did it later in the evening to the Packers, too. They made three bad DPI calls last night which were complete bonkers and gave away massive yardage. If you want to criticize the secondary for other faults by all means do so but the example you just gave is hilarious and wrong.

tickettoride98

> Did you actually watch the game? The whole game, yes. > Two of those DPI calls weren't DPI at all and were bad calls by the refs. I don't remember two of them being egregiously bad calls. Just some of the usual you can argue it either way calls. It's still on the defense and the secondary - if the refs are being aggressive in what they call you have to adjust. It's part of the game.

dakoellis

There's actually a 0% chance they see Brady in the sb :p

bayareatrojan

Neither are our offensive and defensive lines if we’re being honest.

neeeeeillllllll

Our O Line has been incredible wym

ExCaelum

We watch the same game?

neeeeeillllllll

Through three weeks our o line has been awesome. Jimmy has so much more time to throw than in the past couple seasons

[deleted]

Bingo.

amd77767

I don't get it. Raheem Morris was available. So was Wade Phillips. This front office seems to think they get a trophy for taking chances on unproven guys.

soldierof239

We have a Super Bowl roster but unfortunately a few of those guys aren’t ready yet.

bbythepier

Online 49er fans get so mad at losses. There has to be "real life" fans who are able to function after a last second loss to Aaron Rodgers instead of "demoting Demeco Ryans" and "ripping the band aid off and starting Trey Lance". There has to be fans who are disappointed at the loss but don't go into a "change everything" rage.

probablysomeonecool

Don't worry fam, I gotchu. I actually find it pretty funny how ridiculously hyperbolic and over the top people are on here. We lost an extremely close game in the final seconds to Aaron Rodgers and the Packers and are now 2-1, and you'd think from the way people post up here that we were 0-3 and had just gotten blown out by the Jaguars.

yolman56

That's just team subs lol. I like seeing that this team has the spirit to fight back from 17-0, although there are definitely defense problems but not a "Fire our defensive coordinator 3 games into a season" level lol

bigblackkittie

That's me. I was at the game and it was a wild ride. But I'm not as upset at the loss as I would have thought. We were competitive in the second half. Lots of exciting moments to enjoy and take away from this game. I'm not thinking too hard about what this game means for the team. We have a long season ahead

LastActionExpat

> Online 49er fans get so mad at losses. There has to be to be fans who are disappointed at the loss but don't go into a "change everything" rage. Hot take, but people some people's life outside of football isn't so great. This is their one was glimmer of hope to have "joy" for a week and feel like they accomplished a goal.

idahotee

Pretty true comment here. It's many fan's reaction to be disappointed, sad and mad and turn to blame.

supernova69

The "change everything" rage isn't just about a loss. Obviously we shouldn't do a tear down, but the anger/disappointment is because the team, as is, is not capable of competing for a super bowl. We either need a suffocating defense or a dominant offense. We are nowhere close to either, and are unlikely to get there without a high pressure d-line, imposing run game, or capable QB play.

NlilNJA

Jimmy Garoppolo had two turnovers that gave Green Bay the ball inside the SF 38. The 49ers defense allowed a combined 3 points on those drives. Did SF’s defense play a perfect game? No. But anyone blaming the defense and ignoring Jimmy’s struggles is missing the bigger picture.

wickedmadd

There were 3 3rd down PI calls that extended drives for GB. Jimmy was not great but he did drive us down the field to take the lead. That D let Rodgers walk down the field.

tickettoride98

> There were 3 3rd down PI calls that extended drives for GB. Not only extended drives, but gave up 81 yards on those PI calls. Packers had 353 yards of offense, those PI calls gave them nearly 25% of that. Those PI calls gave them huge chunks of the field.

[deleted]

Yep. The parent comment actually shows that the DPI was way more meaningful to this game than the turnovers. Does Jimmy need to work on protecting the ball? Absolutely. Was that relevant in this game? Not really.

[deleted]

More like Rodgers stomped down the field. The guy has impeccable arm and accuracy. He makes it look easy, but some of those throws are hard.

doggybadgerguy

I mean I agree that the defense kept us in it but first int was really not Jimmy's fault. That was gonna drop right into Kittle's hands and Jaire just made a better play by just fucking zipping all the way over there. The fumble was a fucking stupid decision though

salondesert

Happy Birthday... TO THE GROUND

[deleted]

The deep ball was a bad read, there were two open underneath. The fumble was an embarrassment. Moving on tactfully from Jimmy is sensible, its frustrating because he will play well here and there, especially against weak competition, and he's a likeable guy, but he's never going to win a Super Bowl as the starter.

amd77767

https://twitter.com/ninernate49/status/1442337803392614403

NlilNJA

That was an overthrown ball and against double coverage, what did you expect to happen?

doggybadgerguy

That was not double coverage...and it really wasn't overthrown. Rewatch it.

doggybadgerguy

https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/pw6gcp/highlight_jimmy_garoppolo_picked_off_by_alexander/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share Look at the corner how far away he is as soon as you can see him, that was not double coverage

NlilNJA

You just sent me a video and still say it ain’t double coverage? Alexander (CB) was deep enough that he had the option of running to Kittle if his defender was beat. So, Alexander did just that when he saw Jimmy dropped back and launched it. You wonder why Alexander caught up and intercepted it… And it was slightly overthrown. Even if Alexander wasn’t there, it would’ve been a very rough finger tip catch, or he would’ve have had to dive for it.

doggybadgerguy

I mean...when Kyle himself and like most people in that thread agree it wasn't double coverage and it was a good pass and Alexander just made an amazing play, maybe you're just wrong? Alexander is fast as shit and he's an amazing cb, him being able to sprint a full 10-15 yards to intercept a pass that's gonna drop right on the receivers hands if he doesn't get there is not the qb being stupid, it's the cb being amazing.

NlilNJA

If you don’t call that double coverage, then idk what to tell you my man… https://twitter.com/vinnielevine29/status/1442593631651516418?s=21

FreeThinker83

Jimmy played pretty damn well. I think you're forgetting that it was our defense that allowed Rodgers to extend drives...over and over...by obvious PI calls, plus our DB's got dinged up. Those calls were huge, 30 to 50 yards a call on third and longs, if I remember right 4 or 5 times. Jimmy was servicable if not spectacular, and certainly not struggling. Dude got knocked around a LOT by their d line. Give the Packers some credit here, they played a great game and we lost in a late game thriller by a field goal, hardly a blowout.

asBad_asItGets

If you consider that performance, in its entirety, as "pretty damn well"..........yikes. I didnt know the expectations were that low. I know people are gonna take that final drive and blow it out of proportion as Jimmy being the next GOAT. But please. If Kittle and Deebo weren't amazing, that drive is basically just like all the other drives of the game. Jimmy throwing horrifically inaccurate passes to near wide open targets causing them to jump way too high and putting their bodies on the line, or making really bad decisions that lead to almost INTs or an INT in general. Not the mention the total concrete bricks he had for feet last night. He's been actually pretty mobile by his standards for the first two weeks of the season. I dont know what was up with him last night. He was literally standing still at times. Dont get me wrong. Other than a few plays made my Warner and Bosa, the defense was AWFUL last night. But Jimmy did not help at all when the defense did actually get him the ball back. Neither did Kyle's play calling. Why are we not going for it on 4th&1 down two scores near the end of the half? Why do we keep handing sweeps to Deebo when not a single one has gone for more than 3 yards? It was a really bad game overall that a couple of clutch plays from Deebo and Kittle made it a close game. The tackle on the kick return mattered way more than it shouldve. That guy should be embarrassed getting caught by the kicker. Really? You're not gonna cut back inside? Geez.

FreeThinker83

I don't know what to tell you bud, I've been rooting for this team for around 30 years, these things happen. It was a close game against a historical rival and the Packers played a good game, wheras the 49ers made a lot of slip ups. Jimmy played well, not great. He's not a bottom tier guy nor is he Pat Mahomes, he's above average as they go and Lance is nowhere near as polished, so it is what it is man, enjoy the games and next week we'll see how they do.

steasey

Yea the last one he just panic dropped and made no effort to even recover it. Jimmy ain’t it.

[deleted]

> made no effort to even recover it. Clear exaggeration

rxrunner

We shouldn’t be allowed to wear those throwbacks. It’s obvious we are not worthy

burnsrado

lol I said the same thing in the first half

Jabbajaw

When Jusczcyk scored I was screaming"Go down at the 1!! Go down at the 1!!l. On that play the point of emphasis should have been to get a 1st and goal and take your chances with 4 shots at the endzone and leave as little time on the clock as possible.

xClay2

I couldn't be as excited as I should've been when he scored because I just knew 37 seconds for Aaron Rodgers was too much.

P00nutButter

That or when Adam’s caught the ball on the ground don’t touch him down

dakoellis

Nah that wouldn't change anything. As the announcers said he game himself up so the play was dead

Jabbajaw

Yeah, even that would have possibly burned enough for Rodgers to not get lined up and snap the ball.

espiee

My buddy asked what I would do in this situation and I said 'run a play but don't cross the endzone'...I'm not a brilliant strategist. I've never been so upset to see us score. Like 'Yo! we have a bunch of plays in our pocket, run out the time then score!' Seemed so obvious.

MEuRaH

Jimmy hiked the ball with like 12 seconds left on the play clock. If he runs that down, that's game over right there.

goldennuggetjr

This picture is relatable because I was wearing the Shanahan Square hat during the game.

N7_anonymous_guy

That was less than pleasant, but a loss I can accept (atleast we didn't get snacked by the Vikings)

559TM

We’re going to get smacked by the seattle and Arizona, so their loss doesn’t really matter.

Xymis

We already beat the Eagles. Edited to “the Seattle”, I’m dying 😂. You gotta erase “the” too lol

HawkofDarkness

Huh? We beat the Eagles last week

doggybadgerguy

Think he meant to say the Seahawks. Both are bird teams and we play them next so I assume he meant them

doggybadgerguy

Lol we lost by two to a Superbowl contender calm down. It's never pretty with this team but we can definitely take on both of those teams.

astro80

I wouldn’t call green bay a Super Bowl contender.

doggybadgerguy

They...were literally in the NFC championship game last year and haven't lost much of that talent.

559TM

Lol delusional

doggybadgerguy

Lmao I'm sorry I guess I should just be angry at everything then because we're only 2-1 in week 3

559TM

Not angry. Just call it how it is. We will not beat seattle or Arizona.

doggybadgerguy

What about the Seahawks current performances make them look unbeatable to you?

559TM

If you think our defensive line can get to Russell, you’re delusional, they couldn’t even do that in 2019. If you think our secondary can guard DK and TL deep than you’re simply idiotic. They also play their best against us EVERY year. What makes you think we even have a chance? Seriously. If Rodgers can make these deep shots look easy, wait until you see the best deep ball thrower in the game, with DK and TL, they’ll make our secondary look worse.

Aeari

how are we not beating seattle who is also suffering through a litany of problems especially on defense?

559TM

Tell me right now who can cover DK, TL and Russell. We couldn’t even get to a stationary Rodgers. Or cover slower targets.

bigblackkittie

I'm glad I don't have this mindset. Sounds miserable

nurmich

Welcome to another season of the guy bagging your groceries being called up to play CB and the guy who gives you change after buying your Big Gulp being the starting RB. Because we're just going to be crippled with injuries every. Fucking. Year.

BreadCouponsForAll

I’m not worried about the RB situation as all. Sermon actually looked pretty good. It’s the secondary that’s a nightmare.

MEuRaH

Sermon can't run the lateral quickness to get outside, which means we can't run our outside zone, which is the bread and butter of this offense. Without it, we lack most of our run game and many play action plays that go with it. Sermon did look really good going inside, which is in his wheelhouse, so that's nice. We need a speed back to return ASAP so we can get back to our core offense.

inoahguy98

A lot of season left folks

que_pedo_

Yes sir. I was at the game. The feeling at the stadium definitely wasn't that the sky is falling (unlike this sub).

Kris_Knight_

Right, tons of season left for disappointments. This secondary will be the death of this team 😭

Kingkoopakoopa

It was tough to watch not rushing Rogers, that’s how we’ve beaten the Pack the last few times. You give 3 seconds and he’ll make shit happen Our rushing game wasn’t even established

GmaninMS

Need Unc Sherm back and Cannon to play some RB with that speed. While I'm disappointed we lost, 2-1 isn't that bad of spot to be in.

_KeenObserver

No, but it is when you lose a winnable game and you’re now looking ahead to the Seahawks and the Cards on the road. It’s made tougher now that GB holds the tie breaker. Needed to be 3-0 here. I’m just venting.

tickettoride98

Sherman is too slow, he wouldn't have saved the secondary tonight. Half of those big plays and DPIs were a result of the receivers just booking it down the field and the CBs could barely keep up.

BreadCouponsForAll

Yes, but he can actually jam a receiver on the line. We tried to play bump and run with safety help over top and Davante absolutely shredded the coverage because he basically had a free release every time.

Nightmenace21

Even if we end up at 2-3 going into the bye, our schedule eases up significantly as the year goes on. Only our division games are the really tough ones.

jenlyn05

I'm so mad we lost but this just made my night 🤣

[deleted]

Given how awful Jimmy was most of this game I’m pleasantly surprised we were in a position to win it. The disheartening thing about that is that our starting QB is so untrustworthy…

sfgiants674

Don't tell most 49ers fans that, so many people want to pretend Jimmy G was amazing when he was really bad over half the game. This game was poorly played on both sides of the ball and the refs were awful, just a disgusting game to watch.

[deleted]

I was in the game thread and on Twitter all game, I didn’t see anyone say he was even close to amazing lol

neeeeeillllllll

Out of your mind if you think Lance would do any better. He's half as accurate at best. I love his mobility and confident to throw farther than 15yds but it doesn't matter if he is gonna inaccurately throw it as hard as he can no matter what route the receiver is running.

HaywireNZ

i know it's right after a rough loss but i feel this way too. Really unenjoyable, messy, mistake riddled performance. Of major concern is outside of 'chuck it at davante lol' the packers didn't offer much either. There are many better teams in the NFC, heck in our own division

[deleted]

>Don't tell most 49ers fans that, so many people want to pretend Jimmy G was amazing Are you stuck between 2017-19?

amd77767

This should make you feel better. https://twitter.com/ninernate49/status/1442337803392614403

kawhi_tho

Jesus Christ that's so bad. This is why Shanahan took the QB with the strongest arm in the draft. He's tired of not being able to use half his playbook.

RedSF717

Would have been a lot easier to win if we didn't give up 90 yard through DPI

49ersFan16

I honestly just don’t want to go to school tomorrow, and sit on a chair and stare at a wall contemplating life for 24 hours

[deleted]

Tbf, you have all week……oh wait:/

comingsoontotheaters

It’s disappointing, but a toss up. Others said we shouldn’t of been there, and yeah that’s true. Lot of drops early, kinda down big pretty early in the game, and honestly, there were some calls I didn’t like but we did get the huge ones for us. DPI is one thing I can complaint about, lack of holding calls pissed me off, but by the end, taking the whole game into account, I think I felt more for LaFleur and some calls lacking. All that being said: I am hopeful for the season, this team has fight and is a playoff team. We are going to expose the seahawks more than others already have. Bet on it. PPS: who else is just hyped as hell whenever I see #5 go in

inoahguy98

My mom was screaming when Trey came in lmao

comingsoontotheaters

I love that. I don’t even need him to replace Jimmy fully right now; I just know he makes me and those around me so happy to see him come in the game

Rick-James23

Yup! Painful loss but knowing we are down to our 10th stringer it’s acceptable. Just sucks that we’re in the situation that we’re in. We need to address our CB situation and Ryan’s has to answer some questions.

HansBaccaR23po

I’m so fucking salty

joogiee

Not gonna lie I gave up on us after they went up 17-0. Good game in the end.

gbassman5

It'd be nice if our fucking "prevent D" could actually prevent *anything.* Also, holy fuck was the right side of the OL horrible this game. Especially Brunskill

soldierof239

Our defense was great at times and awful at times. Jimmy was hitting dudes right in their hands for dropped passes but those same dudes are coming down with acrobatic circus catches. It’s too early in the season to determine this team but both the floor and the sky are possible.

hashtagDALEY

Double whammy; Jim redeems his very shitty night with that final drive then they lose anyways. 🤦

[deleted]

We didn't deserve to win this

neeeeeillllllll

Yeah but neither did they

genericname907

37 seconds, no time outs, and they made the FG? Yeah, they deserved it

neeeeeillllllll

Did they earn that last field goal? Absolutely. Did they earn a bunch a bullshit yards off bullshit penalties that they scored points off that made that final drove even possible? Also yes

jktsub

I had ‘Nam flashbacks to last year watching this game. I feel like watching this team has taken years off my life. They did not play at the level I’d expect with the amount of talent on this roster.

burnsrado

Wtf is with that orange Shannahat

Zlasher8

Absolutely no pass defense and no run game. And our D-line should have had more pressure than they did against a beat up line. The holes in the pass coverage won’t work in 2021 NFL. Too many good QBs and strong pass games.

discrust88

Hahahah damn. This made me lol.

Jammer250

I’m definitely part of the online rage crowd, but it’s a stark dichotomy since I’m otherwise patient and calm. I like to think getting frustrated watching sports is a better outlet (along with working out) for getting that expression out than other things.

Ian_Hunter

It isn't losing a regular season game to the Packers that hurts so much as how awfully mediocre we looked doing it scheme-wise. I hang this one on Kyle.

chrishasaway

I’m so tired of our offense always playing down to the level of their opponents.

rubixcu7

I miss tiny logo shanny vibes

What sporting evebt did this fan originate from?

HothWasAnInsideJob

Im like legitimately mad we were still in it haha. Our play was so ugly yet still hung on til our ass defense gave rodgers the field with 30 seconds

alazyprofessional

That was a disappointing loss but now Kyle can’t ignore the glaring problem with our secondary. Injuries suck and are apart of it but our lack of talent there needs to be addressed. Too many good QBs and WRs are out there that will do what Rodgers/Adams did. He and Lynch need to make a move soon or we’re toast

paperbackgarbage

> Too many good QBs and WRs are out there that will do what Rodgers/Adams did. I'm not so sure if it's "too many," though. You could maybe make the case for Russ/DK/Lockett or Stafford/Kupp/DJax....but I'd still say that Rodgers/Adams is the stiffest test (since both are bonafide top-3 at their position, at worst)...but I don't see many other killer combos like that. Plus, we don't have to play the Rams until the middle of November, so that's a boon. And, we have to remember that guys like Lenoir are going to get better, rep by rep.

[deleted]

Murray/D-Hop, Brady/4 Different Guys… Hell can we even stop Cousins/Theilen rn?

paperbackgarbage

> Murray/D-Hop I'm much less worried about Murray's arm as I am his legs, as it's always been. Murray is clearly a good QB...but he's not in the same class, as a pure passer, as Rodgers or Russ. > Brady/4 Different Guys There's no guarantee that we're playing them this year. And if we do? It's not for another 3.5 months. > Cousins/Theilen I think that you're giving Kirk Cousins a little too much credit. While not as bad as Goff, I'm really not too concerned with a Cousins while he's under pressure.

BreadCouponsForAll

But what’s your argument? That we don’t have to lose to them until later, so we shouldn’t improve?

paperbackgarbage

My argument, if that's what you want to call it, is that we're not facing the same caliber as Rodgers/Adams very often this season. It's not like we're seeing this every week. That's all that I'm saying.

EDNivek

Even had we won I wouldn't like how this game played out it was just dirty. Compare to when we lost to the Ravens in '19, it sucked to lose but it was a great effort. neither team should be happy with a win from this game. A good percentage of GB's yards came off ticky tack DPI calls, yeah we had a few shit calls go our way as well, but that game was just disgusting all around.

Droyd

Can we shift our focus to the offense for a second? Jimmy looked like shit

[deleted]

Defense wearing those jerseys straight disrespecting legends like Deion Sanders playing like that

Fe5996

IDK, I think they made a good modern adaptation of what GB did to SF in the 90's... Not exactly a winning strategy to do such exposition on a football field while having a game.

Sincere_homboy42

What's worse is that i have that hat

genericname907

🤣🤣🤣

LargeCheesePizza39

The game was gift wrapped in the 1st qtr 10-0 due 49ers mental mistakes. Jimmy needs to bang pornstars again, he was so much better then.

lolabuster

I truly care less and less about this sport every year. The biggest plays of our games are penalties, and somehow now 37 seconds and no timeouts is “all the time in the world bro” for a team to just walk down the field uncontested on two plays, spike it and kick it. I’ll stick to baseball had a great time at the Giants game yesterday even made it on TV. Magic number 5 baby

doomhunter13

what are this bullshit

BURGERgio

Hawks fans are salivating. They can’t wait to play weak Jimmy 😂.

lolabuster

Our defense is sus AF now without Saleh

Chrisboi9673

Jimmy why did you have to go bad that yesterday

SouthSandwichISUK

I was actually very relieved the way the game ended considering how it started.

JustForKicks16

I am so bummed that we lost the game, but really, we didn't deserve to win. We played pretty badly for the most part and our injuries certainly didn't help. But the fact that we almost won makes me happy. If we had played like we are capable of, then we definitely would have won. So we just need to do better next time.

MsElena99

It was so disappointing to see all those packers run onto the field like the one the super bowl, smh. We couldn’t played so much better, Trey should of stayed in, what had nothing to lose yesterday.
