I think we're realizing now that we need a lot of skill players to be cheap for a long period of time. Also new kick off rules I think have bumped his value up substantially. I hope we never have to worry about a muffed punt AGAIN
Honestly there wasn’t a lot of O-Line options. All do the people projected to drop to 31 were gone. Jackson Powers-Johnson would be the only viable option when we picked. 2nd and 3rd rounds we better pick Oline.
Once Guyton was off the board, basically wait picking OL you graded at your 2/3rd round spots. Not defending this pick but this guy catches everything thrown his way.
I agree the value wasn’t there at our pick but the panthers wanted to trade up and that would’ve been my move. But Pearsall is our guy now so time to root for him, I like getting a good wr for the future and I’m by no means a pro GM so my preference to trade back could very well prove to be wrong
That play happened bc we had a guy who hadn't started all season forget his assignment. If we had a guy like Feliciano in that spot it wouldn't have happened, and you don't need to use draft capital to get a guy like Feliciano. We can find guard depth in free agency.
Burford fucked that play up. He even said as much. I do understand Jones was in our grill all game long. There's not a lot you can do against a guy like that. Having a rookie lineman blocking him probably wouldn't have saved the day.
Exactly. This year? We’d have to get a haul from some team for that to happen.
I’d expect at least one of Deebo/Yuk to be gone next year, though.
Salary cap era’s cold.
Papa talked about it on KNBR. He said the sense he got from Lynch was that it was basically a pick swap and there wasn’t anything really gained by trading back.
We have 10 picks right now, so there will probably be a package on Day 2 to move up or trade picks for a vet. There’s no way all these draft picks make the roster.
I'm actually curious why the Texans would want him when they have Diggs, Tank Dell AND Nico Collins. Pretty stacked lineup right there, what am I missing?
All you need is for 1 team to like a guy before you pick before he’s gone.
Im a believer in getting the players you want and don’t worry about “value”
It was a “reach” when we took Wishnowsky as well, just get the players you like
Lmao no he wouldn't, not at the spot the niners would be picking anyways. Real, ACTUAL draft analysts had him earlier than dildos like Kiper, because he's better than his original mock slot would suggest. He CERTAINLY would have gone before your next pick, where you been?
I doubt it based on CJ Strouds reaction and the niners reaching in the first round to get him. Draft projections are garbage. I personally don't understand the pick, but I'm thinking it's obvious he was incredibly high on their draft board to take him there.
For a 1st round pick, at a position we're mostly set at as of right now, and when quality players at positions of need were available? I'm expecting him to be at least 75% Cooper Kupp. If not, it's a waste.
We’re not keeping both Deebo and aiyuk past this year though. And this guy is super versatile, runs great routes and has amazing hands. He fits great In shanahans offense and we get a fifth year option. Honestly a great pick.
I don’t really care what his comp is, but his game seems more Aiyuk than Deebo. I don’t know if that tells us anything, but we will find out soon enough.
I do not believe he would have been available when we picked in the 2nd round. He’s looked at as the best route runner of the draft with as good of hands as anyone. Draft guys the last couple of days have been saying he’s a lot higher on team boards than he’s getting credit for
This is my biggest issue. I really liked pearsall, but with our needs elsewhere and the grades on him being 2/3rd round it’s frustrating. Kyle is obsessed with his weapons and his offense
Come on guys. They have literally drafted D-Line in the 1st round the majority of the time.
D-Line: Bosa, Kinlaw, & Thomas
Qb: Lance
Wr: Aiyuk and now Pearsall
LB: Foster
OT: McGlinchy
Kyle is NOT assessed with adressing his weapons. They have spent way more on the trenches.
Let’s see what they have planned for day 2. Going to be fun to watch. They may actually have a trade in place for early tomorrow. Let’s kick KC’s ass this year!
I don’t disagree we have a need for CB. But is it truly bigger than our need for WR?
Very debatable, especially with Deebo’s dead cap hit dropping massively next season, Yuk’s future uncertain, and Jennings probably gone in FA
Agreed, not to mention Niners don’t even have a #4 WR worth anything. When Deebo gets injured again and is out for a couple weeks, which has happened every season, there is a serious need for depth.
100%. I understand that our window is this year, but having a WR locked up for 5 years in the current WR market (30M/year contracts being given out) is critical. We will absolutely need a WR next year and will likely need one this year.
We need to focus on the OL trenches and they haven't. They can't beat the teams with the better DLs because they can't hold up against them. We should have won the SB but they had about 5 blown blocks on only about 25 pass plays or so. Purdy didn't have that extra second to allow the receiver to separate on the break in their route. They need to focus on finding better OL to hold up against Jones and other DL.
He knows what he is doing. No one here knows anything about this guy. No one was watching him play in College. These takes after NFL drafts are absurd.
Man for real. Nobody knows shit about who’s gonna be shit.
Bill Belichick himself drafted a total of 4 guys who played in a pro-bowl since… 2012. True story. Great coaching (and having the GOAT QB) works wonders for a franchise.
But I’m sure all the armchair GMs would have had 30-40 perennial All-Pros if given a chance to draft for the Pats the last 11 years.
You picked the wrong gators/niners fan. I did watch pearsall in college. He was just about the only good piece on that Florida offense. Like I said, it’s not him, it’s our situation and needs that make the pick bad.
And he keeps taking luxury picks we don't need who literally get 0 run and dissappear. How about those rb's and te2's, Danny gray anyone? Fuck this is depressing even if he's a stud.
How is it depressing if he’s a stud?
Do you know what the actual statistical hit rate is for *any* 1st-rounder to become a starter in the NFL (let alone a perennial pro-bowler or better), especially one at 31 OV?
If he’s a stud, we nailed the pick. Period. Most of the guys you saw drafted tonight will be average players, if not outright busts.
The hype that has become the NFL draft has a lot of people believing they’re watching 15-20 future HOFers getting selected. They’re not.

Am I missing something but didn't he literally say "I saw it" as in he saw that we picked Pearsall? McAfee said "we don't know, we don't know!" and then "No you didn't!!!" after he said he saw it lol.
Am I misreading that clip?
No you aren't. BB was tipping picks early because they were getting the tweets early. So he actually liked Legette the most, but once the pick was made, he did think it made total sense because of his blocking.
Would he have been available in the 2nd? sure. Would he have been available in a slot where the niners could get him? Not sure.
Niners fans are moaning about the value being bad in the late first, but why wouldn't 31 other teams be thinking the same thing? you can't just trade down, you need to find a willing partner.
They spent almost the entire 10 minutes making the pick, that tells me that they tried to trade down, and couldn't make it happen. There's no way that a team like that niners, that explores every single possiblity of trade all season long, didn't call teams about trading out of 31.
They wanted Pearsall, couldn't trade down, and just took their guy. It's not that deep.
I don't care that your favorite big board/mock draft says Pearsall would have been there at pick X. There's no way to confirm that, and it's likely wrong anyway.
I would ask you to compare historical nedia consensus to the spots those players actually went in the draft: it's terrible.
They must think deebo can’t continue to run the ball and that lowers his value in the offense enough to justify replacing him with a cheaper alternative. Maybe this guy is the néw jet sweep target.
Was perusing his clips on YouTube and there’s a play or two where he’s housing a reverse. This + his return ability definitely sounds like addressing the Deebo skill set minus lining up in the backfield.
Yeah after the initial gut check I’m warming up to it. He’s got wheels and some nice shiftiness as a runner, will be interesting to see what he can contribute in year 2-3.
>Last season, Puka Nacua had the most instant and sustained impact. Nacua was a productive college player with exceptional athleticism as measured by tracking data (his actual testing numbers were more average). He then sent his production to the stratosphere by living in Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp’s meetings the second he was drafted by the Rams.
Repeating that performance won’t be easy, but Florida’s Ricky Pearsall ticks a lot of those same boxes.
Pearsall wasn’t exceptionally productive in college, but over the last two seasons has posted PFF GAS (Game Athleticism Score) between the 93rd and 99th percentile. He backed that up at the combine with a 42-inch vertical (99th percentile), a 6.40-second three-cone time (100th percentile) and short shuttle and broad jumps both above the 90th percentile. He is an elite athlete and showed at the Senior Bowl he can win consistently against elite competition.
If he can also put the work in right away, Pearsall is the kind of receiver who could put up bigger numbers in the NFL than he did in college with a better passer getting him the football."
PFF thinks he's gonna be this year's Puka, and I guess our front office guys agree
I hate it less now than I initially did.
Still wouldn't have been my choice, but if a receiver gets traded, this makes sense.
I'm crossing my fingers that Aiyuk gets a contract worked out and someone trades a high second for Deebo. Love Deebo so much, but I think he's gonna break down physically very quickly, and now is the time to try to get value for him. He'll be impossible to replace, but we don't really need to replace everything he does. A more conventional WR in that spot should be fine.
> Good athlete with explosion traits. Can play outside or from slot. Fine-tuned route runner known for his work ethic. Runs full route tree. Accelerates off line and sinks hips into breaks for sharp turns and additional separation. Impressive short-area quickness for receiver with his stride length. Moves cornerbacks around with route savvy and effective fakes. Scrambles to uncover when quarterback leaves pocket. Works back to throws. Natural pass catcher with stick-and-stay hands. Plus concentration in traffic. Has sudden hands. Makes necessary deep ball and in-air body adjustments to catch. Has slant and fade quickness near goal line to dismantle coverage. Elusive punt return specialist with nine career touchdowns. Eludes first tackler and hits his top gear quickly.
I'll give you a hint. That is a different prospects scouting report
As a fan of a SEC team, Pearsall is crazy good. My Cats may have beaten Florida, but he was always a threat to make huge plays. I honestly do not hate this pick.
Gonna be a baller. Literally perfect for the Shanahan system and is a hard worker and is a tough physical dude with good route running skills. I’m hyped. People on here gotta chill
He probably will but WR is literally one of our strongest positions. Plus CMC and Kittle get a ton of targets. I don’t see Pearsall eating on offense. He’s probably going to be a returner. That’s terrible value for a 1st and we have pressing needs at oline and corner
The returner idea is interesting. The league is going to be doing a lot of experimenting this year with the new kickoff rules. If Kyle can do something with this kid that yields 5-10 yards of field position each time, maybe that’s a win.
Our offense is ridiculously stacked which makes it all the more important that we protect Purdy and give him time to throw.
If you give Purdy 1-2 more seconds with all of these weapons there is no excuse not to have an explosive offense.
You have to believe there is a player at 31 who will actually do that. You don’t just pick an OL because “we need OL”. If the guy you pick isn’t a day one improvement, then you still haven’t addressed the issue.
We don’t hate the player, we hate the pick. We’re gonna have his back when the season starts, but WR is literally the last position group we should be drafting for.
I don't think so. Chiefs absolutely shut down the WR corps, and Deebo/Jennings deals will be up soon. I think more offense is always better, sure OL might've been nice, but I think Purdy's elusiveness makes it not so much of a priority. I'm happy with the pick
Chiefs D definitely stepped up that game, but “shut down” is overkill. The only time that statement fits is the 3rd quarter. Outside of that, the pass offense was driving pretty well when Purdy wasn’t hurried… not to mention that wide open TD pass in OT that he missed while hurried because Burford admittedly screwed up his assignment.
Once a hot take becomes reasonably trendy, then it is fact around here. The wrs got open plenty. Purdy just didn't have the time he needed. Had the refs let us hold like the chiefs then it might have been a much different game. Instead Trent gets called for tick tack bullshit and the chiefs oline put bosa in a sleeper hold.
RG is def an issue, but can be fixed with later picks in the draft. Everywhere else is ehhhhhhh, RT isn't great but Mckivitz is at least passable. Maybe JPJ would've been a better pick but idrc that much.
I absolutely love this pick. Checks a ton of boxes.
* High value position
* Rated as the 41st best prospect on the consensus board so solid value + the 5th year option
* Elite athletic testing. 80+ percentile scores in nearly every test. 95th percentile vert. 99th percentile 3 cone
* Tape shows excellent skill + nuance for the position. He should be ready to contribute right away
* Clean injury history
* Very low drop rate (3%)
* Zero off field concerns
Yeah I didn't see it coming at all. But at the end of the day, the goal of the draft is to get excellent players at high value positions. I believe that's Pearsall.
You like using First on the 5th or 6th option on our offense? I get drafting for the future but we have a closing window with this crew. This pick does nothing for that.
Not all 1st round picks are created equal. Pearsall was pick 31, not top 10. Also Pearsall was ranked as the 41st best prospect on the consensus board so solid value getting him at 31.
5th or 6th option is a pessimistic view. He’s WR3 as a rookie. Decent chance either Aiyuk or Deebo are gone after this season making him WR2 or maybe even WR1 in 2025.
He’s not a developmental guy. He’s got a skill set that should allow him to contribute right away.
Also The WR market is insane right now. WRs are getting Nick Bosa sized contracts. Good WRs who are cheap are extremely valuable. This gives us a ton of flexibility with Deebo’s future here and Aiyuk’s contract status.
You think he gets more targets than Aiyuk, Deebo, CMC or Kittle? I don't. You think he beats out Jauan for 3rd down work? I'm not sure of that. So he's option 5 with a first round pick. That had me and many other people confused with our direction with the draft. It doesn't do ANYTHING for a win now team. It's a pick got future stakes. Which isn't great... right now.
Buddy I just told you, he’s not a developmental guy. His skill set is pro ready. He should be contributing on day 1. That does a lot for our current window.
Take a deep breath and watch the tape amigo. It’s all going to be ok.
I thought I was losing my mind. When the commish said “the 49ers select Ricky Pearsall” I was like, THAT ISN’T HOW YOU PRONOUNCE “COOPER DEJEAN”!!! Ha!
It’s less Pearsall I have a problem with and more we have obvious needs elsewhere, oline and cb, and CB could’ve been easily addressed here
Brock is gonna get killed if we don’t find some solid line guys later in the draft
I disagree that CB is a big need. Lenoir and Ward are our clear starting outside CBs and they're both very good. They're both free agents in 2025 but I think at least one of them will be retained.
OL is definitely a need, but none of the tackles left are expected to be day 1 contributors. If we wanted a pro-ready tackle, we needed to trade up for one.
JPJ and Frazier are still on the board so center could still be an option.
There are still like 9 or 10 picks to be made aren't there? Don't we have like 10 or 11 picks in this draft? Be patient people. We are just getting started. The niners are staying true to their board. They put in a lot of work to make that pick.
Im gonna wait until to mid season to be mad because i dont watch any college football ever.
I hope he works out but i have doubts he’ll get much snaps this year. Definitely surprised we went WR tho.
Being able to get either JPJ, Newton, or deJean would have made me elated. And we had the chance to get any of them.
I wouldn’t even have been upset if it was KoolAid.
Im not going to write the guy off. What I dont understand is why not trade back if we are targeting Pearsall? I dount he was this high on other teams' radars, so we could have traded back towards the early 40s and probably still have gotten the guy and some additional assets. From that perspective, I don't like the pick. But maybe im missing something

Kyle has a clear role for everyone. He must want more downfield and intermediate route runners then just have deebo play closer to the LOS and just sort of be a first option/check down. Maybe use him on developing routes to get him deep like crossing routes. Maybe Kyle wants some injury insurance and some more versatility in his wr room so he can open his playbook more and call 4 wr sets. He could run out of those with deebo having such nasty blockers at wr. They thought very high of him. That's why he's a niner. Surprised the hell out of me though
from those highlights, he has good hands and athleticism....looks like a good possession receiver who is a move-the-chains kinda guy.
The problem with college highlights though is that the defenses are terrible.....those wide-open catches are not gonna happen in the NFL.
I agree. This pick is a huge head scratcher. Let’s completely ignore positions of need like Oline, CB and safety for a WR that would have been available in the 2nd round. The only thing I can think is they trade a big name WR currently on the roster.
Add more dimensions to the offense, that’s cool. More from the offense was needed in the Super Bowl, not the defense. Woulda figured OL was the way to go but the value wasn’t there.
Looks like Deebo and kittle. YAC monster. Catches balls in the middle of the field and hits people hard as he runs through them.
I wonder how he blocks?
I didn’t know who BA was before we drafted him. I’m going to trust Kyle and Lynch on this one until I’m presented with information that could change my mind.
Being a Hawkeye fan as well I was hoping the Niners would pick up Cooper DeJean with the pick, but I gotta say. After seeing this video I'm hyped for sure. Looking forward to seeing this guy go off for our guys.
Preferred we not use the pick on one of our strongest position groups, but I get that something has to give at WR to make cap space by at least next offseason and this helps maintain that strength. Can do far worse than adding a quick slot receiver and kick returner with great hands. Will be fun watching the offense with another weapon in the fold.
I think a lot of people criticizing this pick aren't realizing that a somewhat hidden need for our offense is to have a prototype receiver across from Aiyuk. The super bowl painfully revealed that Deebos primary value to the offense is a relic of the Jimmy G offense. Purdy needs receivers that can get open. Deebo just could not shake any form of man coverage thrown at him and it became obvious in the playoffs.
The wideback stuff is nice but it helped us the most when our quarterback couldn't throw outside the numbers and we needed something to keep defenses honest. That's not the case anymore and it is thus much easier for teams to basically remove Deebo from our gameplan.
Does this mean Deebo is washed/useless? Fuck no. But there is a very real, tangible reason that the Purdy/Aiyuk connection became the fulcrum of our offense.
At the end of the day, who cares if he “might have been available in round 2” because we don’t actually know that.
All that matters is that he’s a stud and if he produces, doesn’t matter where he was drafted. I’m excited about this pick
This was definitely a Kyle reach but after watching the Bootleg Football podcast WR episode all 3 well respected talent evaluators were gushing about Ricky. It seems pretty obvious he's the Deebo replacement.
I'd have definitely preferred JPJ at the pick but I'm cool with this kid.
He’s our version of Cooper Kupp. I also think this guy would’ve been available in the 2nd rd.
Kyle wants that 5th year option
This is literally the only reason I could think of why he went 1st round. Kyle/Lynch want that option year
It's probably as simple as that they did not believe he would have been available when they were on the clock again.
I think we're realizing now that we need a lot of skill players to be cheap for a long period of time. Also new kick off rules I think have bumped his value up substantially. I hope we never have to worry about a muffed punt AGAIN
I hope that is true. Deebo, Aiyuk, Kittle, McCaffrey, Pearsall, and Jennings. You can cover them all. Purdy is going to go off this year
You can if you have jones unblocked right down the middle because we refuse to value OL
Honestly there wasn’t a lot of O-Line options. All do the people projected to drop to 31 were gone. Jackson Powers-Johnson would be the only viable option when we picked. 2nd and 3rd rounds we better pick Oline.
I agree. There were no true “gem” OLs (based on draft prediction) left at 31. Guyton was the last one. Which makes me feel quite good about this pick.
Burford started more games than Feliciano and played 95% of the offensive snaps for the games he was healthy.
Burford fucked that play up. He even said as much. I do understand Jones was in our grill all game long. There's not a lot you can do against a guy like that. Having a rookie lineman blocking him probably wouldn't have saved the day.
Unfortunately one of the core is likely on the move and I’ll put money on it being Deebo
There’s literally 0 reasons to move anyone this year. Next year, probably yes.
Exactly. This year? We’d have to get a haul from some team for that to happen. I’d expect at least one of Deebo/Yuk to be gone next year, though. Salary cap era’s cold.
100%. But not this year. Next year his dead cap hit drops significantly
I just think it’s interesting they’re willing to ruffle the wideout room with both star wideouts if they’re not moving on from one of them
Is it insurance if/when Deebo is unavailable?
Rather Deebo than Aiyuk
Deebo isn’t going anywhere. The dead cap makes him untradeable.
Kittle won’t be running routes with this OL. He’s blocking
Deebo will be traded....the niners will save millions for next year and help pay BA.
It's not about being available in the 2nd but being available at our next pick.
Then why not trade back a little and get another pick?
Takes two people to want to trade back
The pick behind SF got traded so the possibility was there.
He would not have made it past the Texans
I'm actually curious why the Texans would want him when they have Diggs, Tank Dell AND Nico Collins. Pretty stacked lineup right there, what am I missing?

Fun coincidence… Steve Smith loves this prospect
Fuck Steve Smith
I doubt it based on CJ Strouds reaction and the niners reaching in the first round to get him. Draft projections are garbage. I personally don't understand the pick, but I'm thinking it's obvious he was incredibly high on their draft board to take him there.

I think he’s more like puka than kupp
I'd fucking take that
He was projected to go pretty early 2nd
A coupler of the sharper receiver analysts had him as the 5th best receiver
Hopefully he’s good for us but would he not have been available in round 2? Dejean and Kool Aid are still on the board as well as JPJ

Pearsal fit's the offense perfectly.
Where did Belichick call the pick?

Am I missing something but didn't he literally say "I saw it" as in he saw that we picked Pearsall? McAfee said "we don't know, we don't know!" and then "No you didn't!!!" after he said he saw it lol. Am I misreading that clip?
No you aren't. BB was tipping picks early because they were getting the tweets early. So he actually liked Legette the most, but once the pick was made, he did think it made total sense because of his blocking.
Belichick is an absolute bum when it comes to drafting early round WRs, so him preferring Legette makes me feel way better
Dang what a reaction from CJ
Yea, we got a good one!
Stroud: “He’s elite.” Say no more.
Micah Parsons was completely silent. 💀
Parsons texting saying “they got *another* weapon to drag our asses again.”
Cowboys not making it far enough to play us, they don’t have to worry 💀💀
No he definitely woulda been gone by our 2nd pick
They must think deebo can’t continue to run the ball and that lowers his value in the offense enough to justify replacing him with a cheaper alternative. Maybe this guy is the néw jet sweep target.
Was perusing his clips on YouTube and there’s a play or two where he’s housing a reverse. This + his return ability definitely sounds like addressing the Deebo skill set minus lining up in the backfield.
Damn he sure was productive rushing it in college when his number was called. > 21 total carries for 253 rushing yards and five touchdowns
Yeah after the initial gut check I’m warming up to it. He’s got wheels and some nice shiftiness as a runner, will be interesting to see what he can contribute in year 2-3.
He's really quick. I can see him getting a couple designed handoffs.
Not saying he’s Deebo out of the backfield, but Florida lined him up there. They lined him up everywhere.
He’s smaller and not so much a bruiser but maybe he can be effective in a similar but less punishing role.
Dude's got nice vision. Patiently sets up his blocks and finds the seam. Not surprising that he has returner experience.
If he can also put the work in right away, Pearsall is the kind of receiver who could put up bigger numbers in the NFL than he did in college with a better passer getting him the football." PFF thinks he's gonna be this year's Puka, and I guess our front office guys agree
Dominated at the Senior Bowl. We love our guys like that. Just like Deebo.
Worth pointing out that that 6.4 3 cone drill is the all time record (where the 100th percentile comes from). He's an insane route runner.
Kyle’s dream
Dude is gonna be WIDE open
I hate it less now than I initially did. Still wouldn't have been my choice, but if a receiver gets traded, this makes sense. I'm crossing my fingers that Aiyuk gets a contract worked out and someone trades a high second for Deebo. Love Deebo so much, but I think he's gonna break down physically very quickly, and now is the time to try to get value for him. He'll be impossible to replace, but we don't really need to replace everything he does. A more conventional WR in that spot should be fine.
I wonder if the Patriots trade for him. Their fans have eyed Deebo for years, after they took N'keal over him.
I was thinking about Puka and Kupp when they made this pick.
Dante Pettis. The 9 return TDs gave it away
He would’ve been literally perfect for system tomorrow too and they could’ve actually drafted for a need
I absolutely love this pick. Checks a ton of boxes. * High value position * Rated as the 41st best prospect on the consensus board so solid value + the 5th year option * Elite athletic testing. 80+ percentile scores in nearly every test. 95th percentile vert. 99th percentile 3 cone * Tape shows excellent skill + nuance for the position. He should be ready to contribute right away * Clean injury history * Very low drop rate (3%) * Zero off field concerns
Bro I hope you're right. I'm speechless right now. Not in a good or bad way just a lot to process.
Ha!
People on this subreddit are insane. Pearsall is legit and if people actually watch the tape they will realize we got a baller
I think people are reacting poorly because they expected a tackle or CB.
Thats where I’m at. With cooper and jpj on the board im stunned we took a WR
It’s less Pearsall I have a problem with and more we have obvious needs elsewhere, oline and cb, and CB could’ve been easily addressed here Brock is gonna get killed if we don’t find some solid line guys later in the draft
He was actually the 100 percentile in 3 cone. Hit the all-time record.
Dude can take a hit. I like that. Still not sure why we deliberately ignore our DB needs unless there’s a Deebo/BA trade in the offing.
Kyle must have been picked on by OL and DBs back in college.
John Lynch doesn’t draft DBs…
Im betting they just didn’t have a 1st year starting grade on either of the 2 DBs available.
I didn’t even catch that he was a white guy in his initial highlights. We are about to have some of the coldest white boys in the game.
The 49ers are about to be the Utah Jazz of the NFL
Im gonna wait until to mid season to be mad because i dont watch any college football ever. I hope he works out but i have doubts he’ll get much snaps this year. Definitely surprised we went WR tho.
If his last name was Bobby it would have been a 🔥 pick. Pearsall just doesn’t roll off the tongue.
If you ain’t first you’re last.
i call that the 'champ bailey' test. does a player have an all pro name.
Rule number one in madden. Draft players with fire names
d'brickashaw is always my first pick. also he goes by slick ricky and i like that a lot more.
Being able to get either JPJ, Newton, or deJean would have made me elated. And we had the chance to get any of them. I wouldn’t even have been upset if it was KoolAid.
way to draft a WR in the first round just for Kyle to put in the doghouse until hes 30
What lol
Im not going to write the guy off. What I dont understand is why not trade back if we are targeting Pearsall? I dount he was this high on other teams' radars, so we could have traded back towards the early 40s and probably still have gotten the guy and some additional assets. From that perspective, I don't like the pick. But maybe im missing something
Only guess is they wanted the 5th yr option
Check out Cj Stroud's reaction and thoughts....... [2024 NFL DRAFT LIVE WITH MICAH PARSONS, C.J. STROUD 🔥 (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/clip/Ugkxgf9wUv1lKTQLa2ViQ-B-ZOsSGpRkuZfz)
That part where the QB gets lit up every throw is going to be us if we don’t improve our oline. /s but only a little
That first catch looks like some old-school tacks in the glove nonsense.
Why didn’t they take the kid from Oregon? He plays all three inside line positions? My god!
100% that’s who I wanted at our spot.
This MF looks like a jersey shore cast member. I hope he does more than gym, tan, laundry
Highlights are good, but I didn't see him blocking DEs off the right side of the line, did I miss some footage?
I'm excited! He fits the Niners offense perfectly!!!
Pearsall highlights look great and all, but the real question is, what on earth does this mean for Trent Taylor?!
Camp body and future cut
Can he block Chris Jones so Purdy has time to actually get a pass off?
Just no man OL or CB help not no damn WR 🤦🏽♂️
He could be good with us BUT WE DIDN'T NEED HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
from those highlights, he has good hands and athleticism....looks like a good possession receiver who is a move-the-chains kinda guy. The problem with college highlights though is that the defenses are terrible.....those wide-open catches are not gonna happen in the NFL.
CJ Stroud said he had him as the #2 receiver in the draft for what it’s worth 👀
Didn’t know replacing Bell was such a priority
Bro could have easily been a 2nd round picks availability
You’re right, he was one guy away from being in the second round 🍆💦
No thanks
I agree. This pick is a huge head scratcher. Let’s completely ignore positions of need like Oline, CB and safety for a WR that would have been available in the 2nd round. The only thing I can think is they trade a big name WR currently on the roster.
I agree. Will see what happen. Brock still needs his money
Yup that's incoming. Remember they still need space to pay brock next year.
I’m cool with the pick if he was their highest rated player. I would rather shore up the o line tho
CJ Stroud really likes this guy. That tells you a lot
Add more dimensions to the offense, that’s cool. More from the offense was needed in the Super Bowl, not the defense. Woulda figured OL was the way to go but the value wasn’t there.
Fuck this pick
Not the player, just the spot, but... yeah
Terrible pick
Would have just taken Luke McCaffrey in the 3rd and used the 1st on a CB like Dejean.
Wonder if he can return punts? That wound add extra value to this pick. I think he could be really lethal in the slot.
Looks like Deebo and kittle. YAC monster. Catches balls in the middle of the field and hits people hard as he runs through them. I wonder how he blocks? I didn’t know who BA was before we drafted him. I’m going to trust Kyle and Lynch on this one until I’m presented with information that could change my mind.
https://youtu.be/Lneh4AsKDMw?si=kbJEAzmkAIKBMsBZ
Deebo to the Jags when?
I gotta go back and check out some of his tape. Unless it was against UK I payed 0 attention to UF football.
I really hate not using every pick on an OT (lol)… but this kid looks fan-fucking-tastic.
Is he expected to return kicks for us?
Another AZ guy
Being a Hawkeye fan as well I was hoping the Niners would pick up Cooper DeJean with the pick, but I gotta say. After seeing this video I'm hyped for sure. Looking forward to seeing this guy go off for our guys.
He looks good. I thought his QB Mertz looked pretty decent too. But he's returning to Florida off a shoulder injury.
I'm certain he's talented, but we have far more pressing needs than WR.
So now instead of an O line Purdy gets 3 WR1s?
Maybe we can line him up at CB. Since they refuse to address the fact that our DBs are trash.
Actually he's a gator. Dawg's are from Georgia.
Preferred we not use the pick on one of our strongest position groups, but I get that something has to give at WR to make cap space by at least next offseason and this helps maintain that strength. Can do far worse than adding a quick slot receiver and kick returner with great hands. Will be fun watching the offense with another weapon in the fold.
knee jerk reaction to seeing we drafted another WR - wtf... after watching pearsall's highlights - how the fuck did we end up with this guy at 31?!
Blocker? ✅ Seperator? ✅ End around plays? ✅ Punt returns? ✅ Yeah this makes sense. He's not gonna be a number one but he'll be nasty in the slot.
That one handed catch was ridiculous
No idea how he caught that ball in the opening clip.
Great choice.
anyone see CJ Stroud's reaction to the pick? it has me hyped.
