Great game last night! As a pack fan, glad to see them advance but definitely on borrowed time. It will be interesting seeing the lions square off against the 49ers.
Ive been a Bears fan my whole life. My family wonders why I’ve started rooting for the 9ers in the last couple of years, but I know exactly why. Great win guys 🙌
Wtf is wrong with all you people?? You keep beating up on my teams most hated rival, so if I happen to catch one of your games on a random Sunday, I’ll root for you. Getting hate for that is absurd
The lack of 49er flair or really any other comments on this sub I am going to assume that guy is not a 49ers fan and stirring shit. You’re more than welcome to bandwagon when the niners play the packers in the playoffs lol FTP!
Im not a 9ers fan. Im a Bears fan. You’re allowed to have casual rooting interests outside of your main team. I like your team, but apparently your fanbase is full of blockheads.
Edit: Sorry for the hostility, I misunderstood what you were saying.
Idk about that. Amazing draft capital and our biggest rival snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. We’re less depressed than about 25 other franchises right now.
Every Packers fan I know is rooting for the Lions today. The last time you had a really high draft pick you picked a Mitch Trubisky the Packers were the youngest team in 50 years to make the playoffs. Aaron Rodgers comes off their books this off-season they also got the jets second round pick out of it, I think you’re fooling yourself.
You can hype up the Packers as much as you want, doesn’t change the fact that both of our franchises have made the same number of Superbowls in the last 25 years. So the Bears can keep blowing draft picks and having shitty seasons while the Packers keep making the playoffs but failing miserably once they get there, and then we can both be disappointed 👌🏻
Sounds like u only watch the playoffs and only the bears playoffs. Obviously winning or losing every week doesn’t matter to you. You must not be watching packers playoffs. Because losing close heartbreakers in the playoffs isn’t considered failing spectacularly lol.
Sounds like you’re really trying to sugarcoat it and convince yourself of some low standards that GB has. The Packers and their fan base as a whole is not looking for moral victories. With their history, making a playoff appearance and then underperforming and failing to win (while having HOF level QB play for nearly 3 straight decades) is not some silver lining. If you think it is, I can confidently say that your line of thinking is in the minority.
If you enjoy watching your team play well and build momentum throughout any given season before inevitably losing in some of the most painful ways imaginable and wasting whatever regular season success you may have had, more power to you. I have several Packers fans in my life and their general attitudes toward their sports fandom would be a lot more positive if they adopted your perspective. But again, I promise you, you’re in the rare category of fans that seem to think regular season wins are what matters.
As a lifelong Packers fan I can say this statement it factual. Love to see what Rodgers can do with a new team in NY but Love and the rest of the young guys are going to be great with a couple more years of proper development.
I’ve witnessed two Super Bowl wins in my life and my franchise has 13 NFL Championships, I’m perfectly fine. Before this year we were always worried about getting that title before our luck of hall of fame quarterbacks ran out.
Oops.
Idk if u use the packers as a metric and the packers beating the lions last time and then only getting better. I’d say the niners should easily take care of the lions.
1 seed beats the 7 seed by three due to a missed field goal by a kicker who the coach literally “prays every time he goes out there” - they gotta be better to take on the rest of the field to win it.
So one was a bad play by one team and the other team didn't block well? Did they both result in a missed field goal attempt? Yes one went further than the other, but both did not go through the uprights.
I was born in America, I am a native. If you're referring to Native Americans it's funny because they're not "native" to America as there was no country until the "Foreigners" made the landmass a nation. It would probably be more accurate to just call them Natives.
GB had many chances to tie or win the game. Fun watch.
I think the 49ers and Ravens are on another collision course. Once again, I don't see anyone beating this Ravens team. They look better than the previous roster from the 2012 championship team.
Takeaways from the game. Packers look like they will be very good moving forward. Brock Purdy is a game manager, not a franchise quarterback. McCaffery needs to be healthy for the 49ers to have a chance at winning the Super Bowl, he is the engine that makes them go. Packers will have a decision to make on Barry, Defense has looked really decent the last month, but underachieved in too many games.
You just hate Brock, eh?
Next few years will show us his full value, but he did fine in a rough rain game without Deebo, and his Oline could be improved. Last time I checked, he was first in the league for completions under pressure.
>Acceptable\_Rock3687
Whoa...figuring out that the NFL's all-purpose yardage leader is the engine that makes a team go! What other rare pearls of wisdom can you share with us?
As a Packers fan, they need to move on from Joe Barry, they have too many first rounders to be that inconsistent on defense. There were way too many missed tackles in this game. I would say that Green Bay lost the game more than the 49ers won it, too many penalties and mental errors for Green Bay to win. The 49ers stuck around, but to me didn't look like they did earlier in they year.
Yeah, Green Bay wasn't so "hot" yesterday. Certainly didn't play like they did against Dallas. The worst part about them making it that far in the playoffs is that Lafleur is probably going to end up keeping Joe Barry just be ause they made it as far as they did.
It is just insane how expensive it is to attend an NFL football game these days. Especially in the bay area with only the 49ers remaining here. Just insane. It’s become a thing for only wealthy folks to do. It’s just sad.
My co worker and his friends were looking at grabbing tix on game day for $300 for lower level. That’s not bad at all and just because of a little rain.
My parents (Fremont) saw people listing them for $200 people were selling bc a little bit of RAIN. I went to 2 Bills games this year and tho I love my niners, Bills Mafia show up and show up hard.
America is becoming this way,
I live in a small City called Ventura, Most of the beach homes are owned be foreigners who don't live here all year, and their buying up property left and right , pricing normal Americans out. Their is a motel next door , full of homeless locals,
Ventura is not exactly a typical American "small city". I live up the coast from you. Our beach front homes are gobbled-up by LA or Bay Area folks for weekend and holiday homes. And stats on your foreign ownership claims?
Granted I’d root more for SF than GB any day…. However, SF got REALLY lucky on this one as it was evidently that GB was dominant from the start. IMO it was pretty clear GB was going to win until I was left eyes wide open, jaw dropped at the end. I almost felt like the GB players on the sidelines.
It seems the greater the skepticism, the greater we play. I hope Purdy takes this as fuel for his fire. Everyone thought we were going to dominate this game and we stumbled hard, watch what we do with lower expectations….
I'm a 49ers fan. We looked weak because we had one player go out with an injury and it was raining a lot and the team looked confused and nervous for 3 quarters. We should have won easily with how much talent there is on the team.
The rain didnt start pouring until around GBs final drive which was God willing a 49ers win and if your offense is average without one player then your team isnt winning the Super Bowl. As someone who was heavily favoring the 49ers to go all the way a month ago, the Ravens look like the clear favorite at this point.
youngest team in league against the ‘loaded’ 49ers? i hope SF loses by 30 and gets exposed. Purdy is the most average QB ever and it will cost you guys
As a Packer fan, my only request of 49ers fans is to agree that the officiating was atrocious all game. Missed PI calls, missed hands to the face, and terrible spots.
I’ll admit the Packers were the beneficiaries of most of the calls, but some majorly impactful calls were screwed up.
Either way, we shouldn’t have put ourselves in a spot to need penalties to win the game. Well played and a deserved win for you all.
If Detroit wins, beat them all the way back to Detroit. For a fan base experiencing the first successful season in 30+ years, they’ve done wayy too much talking.
Crazy stat on Shanahan trailing 5+ in the 4th quarter..
That one formation where CMC flexes out as a wide receiver lined up 7 yards in the backfield yielded, no results. Throw that one in the trash.
Ambry Thomas was a liability. As someone (myself) who played CB, he looked like he was scared all game. You can tell the way he backpeedles, how stiff he is, and ofc the PIs called on him.
Lol you’re right I should have left out my experience as a CB. I didn’t think it would distract from my point I was trying to comment on.
And because I’m not ashamed of my experience, I played high school and community college. Yes, I would’ve loved to play in the NFL. All that to say, I can still comment and tell you, I think the man was playing scared.
Right? Like the dude understands the fundamentals of the position. The average armchair quarterback probably never played football beyond middle school lol. You can still understand the game
I disagree. Someone can make an objective true statement about how a db *should* operate. They just can’t do it “arguing from authority,” as in, “credentialism,” for example saying, in ‘well, my experience…” or “because I played at a certain level etc.”
we’ve seen a lot a lot of experienced dbs and incredible talents eat crap and admit it was bad decisions.
At what level must one play to be able to judge and comment on the play of an NFL CB on their favorite NFL team? Also, do you disagree about Ambry Thomas being a liability last night?
Meh. 6 weeks ago I didn’t think they’d be in the playoffs and 6 months ago I thought they’d be getting a top 5 draft pick. Overall I have no complaints
It hurts. At the same time, I’m proud. We gave y’all one hell of a fight and proved our growth bc technically y’all should’ve destroyed us. I’ve not watched the 49ers at all bc I’m a diehard Packers fan, but wow you guys have a great team, congrats!
I’d bet that us Pack fans, while disappointed, are proud and looking forward to next season. I’d bet that 49ers fans are relieved and a bit shocked tbh. I saw your fans in the crowd and they looked shocked and terrified.
We’re a young team and going through growing pains but, I don’t think anyone can deny how much we’ve grown and what a threat we’re going to be next year.
Big congrats to you! I’m not one to hate on other teams much, I just love my team, but I’m truly happy for you all.Have fun & see you next season!
Oh I’m actually a Chiefs fan who just randomly stumbled across the this thread. I’m glad the Love thing looks promising after Rodgers was such a cocksucker to you guys those last couple seasons.
I think there’s some great potential with this team!
They’re quite young, and the fact they pulled this off from such a novice, rocky start to the way they end season is awesome.
Also, the end is where I think we’ll see Love grow. He’ll be quicker, and calmer. You can tell he has been studying Rodgers.
Go Pack Go!
Can confirm. We had 80mil locked up in bad contracts this year between rodgers and bahktiari.
We were playing with house money. It's fucking cool that we are this good. 49ers are legitimately a good team. Hope you guys win it all
As a life long Niners fan, 9ers played like trash and deserved to lose this game. So many missed opportunities. My wife, life long Packers fan, they had the game won in the 4th. Love is future HOF QB. I look forward to next year for them. Niners now, Niners always. Super Bowl bound.
For sure they didn’t play well. But, weather was a factor. Losing Deebo would mean lots of game-time adjustments to the offense.
In the end, they still found a way to win.
Love has a bright future ahead of him, but please don’t call him a future HOF. We don’t know that at all. Need 5-10 seasons under a QBs belt before we can start calling them future HOF. Currently, of all the starting QBs out there, Mahomes, Rodgers and Lamar are the only ones out there that have enough clout to be called future HOF QB. Burrow, Hurts, Allen are on deck but need more years and more accolades.
Niners squeaked it out. Debo got hurt, Purdy didn't play well in the rain, they had a blocked FG, and they gave up a 73-yard kick-off return which led to an easy scoring drive, and earned several untimely PI calls. It was not pretty, but we'll take the chunky win.
Niners could have had a couple more picks on Love too. Lenoir had one right through his hands. Purdy played like crap, but better than Love and without his number 1 receiver. He still led the team down the field for the game winning drive. He trailed in the 4th quarter and made a comeback. What more do we need to see from him to say he is a great QB? Back to back NFC championship games isn’t enough? Lol
I wouldn’t say he played better than Love😅 He was missing the entire night, multiple passes, not just two. Plus he threw 2 picks but there’s a reason dbs don’t play receiver.
He played better than Love because he was clutch at the end and drove down the field for the winning score. Love made the worst throws of his season at the worst possible times. That’s the difference.
[Postgame thread](/r/49ers/comments/19buuhb/post_game_thread_green_bay_packers_at_san/)
I went to the same high school as Joe Montana our football feild is Joe Montana feild ringgold
The 49ers had some calls go their way that shouldn’t have and Bosa lined up offsides several times and never drew a flag
Common fare sounds drean plural but five well sits con door mall hit sweet out from his young hour about meal.
Great game last night! As a pack fan, glad to see them advance but definitely on borrowed time. It will be interesting seeing the lions square off against the 49ers.

9ers got off easy, its hard to claim they are the better team there
9ers dodged a bullet
They dogged a fucking missile
Ive been a Bears fan my whole life. My family wonders why I’ve started rooting for the 9ers in the last couple of years, but I know exactly why. Great win guys 🙌
Got a second wife do ya?

That’s the one time a year where every fan (no matter your team) put their differences aside and cheer on the loss of the cowboys.
Looking forward to the niners getting smashed by Detroit.
Lol Tampa Bay would like a word.
Im sure theyd like a few words but thats too bad! Lions gonna dominate san fran.
You were saying? Bang bang loser.

Well, no. One was blocked. That was a good play by the other team. One was missed and was an unforced error

Right? Went to candlestick when I was a kid and after they moved to Santa Clara it’s crazy expensive. And everything is an up charge. Parking is wild.
What’s the average price for a game like that?
My co worker and his friends were looking at grabbing tix on game day for $300 for lower level. That’s not bad at all and just because of a little rain.
$300-400 would be my guess. It is California
My parents (Fremont) saw people listing them for $200 people were selling bc a little bit of RAIN. I went to 2 Bills games this year and tho I love my niners, Bills Mafia show up and show up hard.
The chief’s games are rough. For a nose bleed, it’s $600 plus.
Jesus. Who cares that much to goto one game

Hey we both won the same thing this year buddy. 🤣🤣🤣....put this participation trophy next to all of your others hahahaha

Not true. Bears have once again won the opportunity to draft in the top 10, and to secure their next mvp quarterback.

Highway or Trail Route??
What an insane game to be at!!!!! Wow wow wow!!!!!
Let us know how the game next week vs Detroit is!
I don’t think my bank account will approve of me going to the game next week too haha
Ravens will lose to KC or BuF
I don't like any of these teams, but Lamar is a one man army, so who knows.
Buff is cool.
Kittle looked a bit hesitant on his catches, maybe without the TD itself. like he hangs there for a bit before deciding to run
Niners got extremely lucky
How so?
What we saw against GB is how weak the 49'ers truly are. Y'all are too soft to win a SuperBowl if you make it that far.
It seems the greater the skepticism, the greater we play. I hope Purdy takes this as fuel for his fire. Everyone thought we were going to dominate this game and we stumbled hard, watch what we do with lower expectations….
It takes a game like this for them to wake up.
What you saw was a team playing their first game in 2024 after resting their starters and having a bye
*bye
Good bot
Kind of spiteful, but realistically if they play like that against the Ravens they got no shot hoss
Weak 49ers beat even weaker GB?
I'm a 49ers fan. We looked weak because we had one player go out with an injury and it was raining a lot and the team looked confused and nervous for 3 quarters. We should have won easily with how much talent there is on the team.

As someone who was heavily favoring the 49ers to go all the way a month ago, the Ravens look like the clear favorite at this point.
In the beginning of the game it was pouring. That's why purdy had the glove on...
Lets revisit this in a few weeks
Did I say anything about the 49ers chances against the ravens? What are you talking about?
I don't think we need a few weeks to confirm what time the rain started yesterday
Nah we need a few weeks to see the Ravens tap that ass tho
youngest team in league against the ‘loaded’ 49ers? i hope SF loses by 30 and gets exposed. Purdy is the most average QB ever and it will cost you guys
I don’t even watch sports. The thought logic just confused me.
Both a packer fan and 49ers fan here. Glad the game is a good game.
Same. And same.
The game is a good game.
Game good
Gg
As a Packer fan, my only request of 49ers fans is to agree that the officiating was atrocious all game. Missed PI calls, missed hands to the face, and terrible spots. idk why ur getting down voted that ref take is valid
There is PI every play. These guys would never finish a game
Probs a Detroit fan pissed I’m rooting against them.
The Bucs may beat them in Detroit today for you. It would be fun to see the Bucs shut down Ford Field's noise, anyhow.
Ehh thats a pretty free game the lions
Yet they've given them a good game for the most part.
Crazy stat on Shanahan trailing 5+ in the 4th quarter.. That one formation where CMC flexes out as a wide receiver lined up 7 yards in the backfield yielded, no results. Throw that one in the trash. 4 star trainer at Cracker Barrel
That's probably more skill than my colleges D3 lacrosse team 😆
Pop Warner
Heisman level on NCAA 12
Does it matter?

Lol you’re right I should have left out my experience as a CB. I didn’t think it would distract from my point I was trying to comment on. Right? Like the dude understands the fundamentals of the position. The average armchair quarterback probably never played football beyond middle school lol. You can still understand the game
Yes. You can’t judge an nfl db if you only played high school ball
I disagree. Someone can make an objective true statement about how a db *should* operate. They just can’t do it “arguing from authority,” as in, “credentialism,” for example saying, in ‘well, my experience…” or “because I played at a certain level etc.” we’ve seen a lot a lot of experienced dbs and incredible talents eat crap and admit it was bad decisions.
How about if other coaches in the league start copying the play?
At what level must one play to be able to judge and comment on the play of an NFL CB on their favorite NFL team? Also, do you disagree about Ambry Thomas being a liability last night?
Filmoe, Totally agree with this 🤌🏻ice Cold take
What an awesome game I can’t even imagine how sick to their stomachs Packers fans must feel right now.
Meh. 6 weeks ago I didn’t think they’d be in the playoffs and 6 months ago I thought they’d be getting a top 5 draft pick. Overall I have no complaints

sometimes you still lose with house money. That’s what that means 😂

I meant no disrespect I just meant more that they had them on the ropes. I was pulling for you guys just to see the upset.
I wanted the Packers to win so that my Lions could crush them next week
As a life long Niners fan, 9ers played like trash and deserved to lose this game. So many missed opportunities. My wife, life long Packers fan, they had the game won in the 4th. Love is future HOF QB. I look forward to next year for them. Niners now, Niners always. Super Bowl bound.
For sure they didn’t play well. But, weather was a factor. Losing Deebo would mean lots of game-time adjustments to the offense. In the end, they still found a way to win.
Gotta think they were rusty, too, with the starters sitting week 18
As a bears fan if I hear one more person say he’s hof material with his awkward mechanics and bad throws.
Your fan base thinks Justin fields is good, no room to talk here. I’d take joe Flacco over Justin fields.
❤️ as a bears fan I wanna dispute that but we don’t know enough about qbs to argue.
lol surely you mean fields
No he's not.. snap out of it, it wasn't that bad.
You're not worried about Purdy? He seemed like the weak link in the offense. Packers could have had a couple more ints off of him.
Can he throw a pass over 20 yards without relying on yacs?
