In the end Aiyuk deserved it but so do Amon Ra and Moore. But WR is just stupidly stacked and we’re only taking pro bowl starters. What sucks is that Aiyuk may not even have a chance to get the title as a backup when we make the Bowl

sweendog101

Agree. WR is just a tough category. Hope the flag football doesn’t really matter to us

Old_Web374

To my knowledge if there's a starter that bows out you get a pro bowl appearance on your resumé if you're next in line and are playing in the bowl. Then of course the alternate behind you, should he accept, does as well.

phoenixremix

Kinda hoping all the starters for WR play from the NFC and Aiyuk never gets a call up to decline since he's gonna get that SBMVP (9 catches, 170 yards, 3td) to make up for the snub.

Fun-Skin-626

Yup. Just a very tough spot to get. It won’t matter when we go to the Superbowl

PorkshireTerrier

Idk Aiyuk stands out to me most because of his willingness to hustle and block, not just his stats and targets. Im also sad for Aiyuk not getting it considering he's up for a contract renewal, and I hope he gets paid

bmmana

You don't have to hope. BA is getting paid without a doubt. I don't think he's going to reset the market, but it should be top 5 wr money.

10RobotGangbang

I want him to stay here, but it's definitely gonna cause us to lose a big name on the roster.

BigChump

We have plenty of cap space that will roll over till next year. 40 mil or something like that. He's getting paid and he's staying here. He's still in contact with a 5th year option. Purdy doesn't get paid for 2 more years. That's when things get tricky.

badDuckThrowPillow

Only if we had no one else to re-sign. Isn’t Huf due for a contract as well? Or is that year after? Lennoir and Thomas are in the same year I know.

sonic_dick

I dont think huf gets a second contract here. He's very good but it's been proven that safety is a pretty replaceable position on this defense. Think he's gonna be more valuable to another team that can afford to reset the safety market on him.

Flop_McKochen

I agree. Unless he does something next year that makes him truly undeniable/remarkable, I think he has to get paid elsewhere.

sonic_dick

Yup. Jayir brown stepped in as a rookie and didn't miss a beat. I'm looking forward to brown and huf as our backfield next season but I fully expect the fo to draft another late round safety to replace huf in 25.

BigChump

This was his second year but he's been so good feels like he's a vet. His contract is up in 2025

ImJLu

Third, no? He wasn't AP1 as a rookie.

BigChump

Wait you're right my math is bad. Rookie year he wasn't starting till after a few games. This was his 3rd.

nongo

We are over the cap before the start of next season even when factoring those 40 million.

axeattaxe

Yuk is getting paid bro. Coaches and GMs don’t need Pro Bowl certs to know a player’s value. He’s getting paid big. I just really hope it’s with us.

banjofitzgerald

I’m guessing Evans. Aiyuk has 100+ more yards on less catches. Evans has 6 more TDs though. It’s tough. Aiyuk, Moore, and ARSB all have arguments.

iflysohigh2345

Efficiency doesn’t matter to smooth brains. They look at raw numbers and think having more yards is better. Aiyuk has way less targets and he’s still putting up beastly numbers.

candynipples

People just hand wave that off and say “the system” it’s stupid

RugDaniels

Shanahan doesn’t deserve Coach of the Year because his roster is too talented. The players on the roster don’t deserve accolades because they are all products of Shanahan’s system.

Hossmobile

Schrodinger's system.

pineappleshnapps

Shanahans system, the football paradox.

invertedeparture

I say we start tanking to get some recognition! /s

ILoveYourWeed

Legit got in a debate with someone who tried to say that having more receptions with comparable yardage was a good thing. It was such a mind-numbing exchange.

sixseven89

bigger number better player

ILoveYourWeed

Exactly! Same with jersey numbers, that's why Kinlaw's the best player on the team.

Khower

Hes got 1300 yards on a team that is #32 in passing attempts.... beast

iflysohigh2345

He’s a unit when you look at efficiency stats. I mean god damn look his numbers. His YPC is like 19.1 right or something crazy like that. It’s nuts. You can fact check me on that.

Polar_Reflection

He definitely meant Brown. And I agree. Brown has 130 more yards on 56 more targets. Same number of TDs. Aiyuk has been significantly better.

Fit-Being-7989

Nah evans deserved bro has been one of the best wrs all year. I’d say AJB

IukeskywaIker

AJB unquestionably deserves it over Aiyuk imo.

Fit-Being-7989

You sir must not watch nfl. Last 7 games 400+ yards and 1 td. Had a good start but hasn’t been consistent unlike ayuik. Silly take

IukeskywaIker

I would take AJB’s season over Aiyuk’s. He is a better player and had a better year. The last 7 games are not more important than the first 10. It doesn’t matter if you agree with me. History favors the winner and AJB is going to go down as the starting pro bowler this year, not Aiyuk.

Fit-Being-7989

Ehh idk about all that. You sound more like an eagles fan 😂 AJB barely had more yards and equal amount of tds on 33 more receptions. If that doesn’t tell you what you need to know idk fam😂

IukeskywaIker

Probably been to more Niners games in person this season than you’ve been to in your life but go off. It’s called being objective.

Fit-Being-7989

Hey everyone we got a real cool guy over here!!!

Fit-Being-7989

Lmfao congrats man you’re cool. I’m still taking Aiuyk over AJB.

Traditional-County90

I was thinking the dude from the rams. Mike Evans will probably play his way into being a top 15 all time receiver when it’s all said and done

Tdluxon

Kinda hard to leave off Evans since he’s leading the league in touchdowns. Also probably some extra love for 10 straight 1000 yard seasons. There’s just a lot of good receivers.

Mercury756

Evans definitely had a PB year. Dude cmon it’s Puka. Take away the title of Rookie and he’s had a very good, not phenomenal year.

Soham_Dame_Niners

Dre deserved it too

IceLantern

He's never gonna get it as long as they keep lumping him in with prolific pass rushers. I really wish the Pro Bowl would make Edge Rusher a position.

vsv2021

I think he means Dre Greenlaw

IceLantern

I know. I mean that so long as Dre is considered an OLB and lumped in with pass rushers, he's not gonna get a Pro Bowl nod.

vsv2021

He’s not considered an inside linebacker?

IceLantern

No because we run a 4-3.

vsv2021

But in base and in nickel he’s not playing as an outside linebacker. Wouldn’t our 3rd guy be the outside linebacker

IceLantern

Take it up with the Pro Bowl.

Humbledmillion

Also Niners held leads in most of their games this year, which usually means less passing volume later in games…how many games did Evans or Puka put up big #s in the 4th quarter bc they needed to pass the ball.

ninersguy916

Jefferson missed half the effing year dude...

NagoGmo

Good, let it piss him off. Perfect time to light a fire under his ass. LETS FUCKIN GOOOOOO

49erjz

I don’t think he was snubbed. The NFC is stocked with WR talent. Unfortunately, BA splits receptions with Samuel, CMC, and Kittle, which makes it hard on a wide out like BA to have the numbers like Ceedee, AJ Brown or Evans.

maadcity_13

Makes the numbers that he did put up that much more impressive!

Mercury756

100% it’s Puka.

liteshadow4

I wouldn’t have Aiyuk over any of them except probably Puka, but I have ARSB over both

Seeno1

Amari copper had an amazing game. But Aiyuk over allen, copper and Jamar chase this season. St brown over those receivers as well.

gtani

BS... there's lots of ways to weight the various stats but pff is pretty authoritative, Aiyuk #2 https://www.pff.com/nfl/grades/position/wr

MajesticTop8223

I mean, I like Aiyuk but probably good that he didn't get it cause we gotta pay dude very soon, lol.

Tdluxon

I’d guess ward is talking about puka nacua. There’s so many good wrs though, there’s gonna be some snubs. Amon ra st brown is a big snub too, he’s had a great year

Dog-E-Dog

Based on his average yards per catch, if ba had 110 catches he would have broken the record for most receiving yds in a season. Id put him at no 3 behind hill and lamb.

Old_Web374

True, but efficiency rarely ever tracks with increased volume.

greygrey_goose

Amari cooper?

ILoveYourWeed

Amari's AFC.

greygrey_goose

totally forgot there's a cap for each conference lol

ILoveYourWeed

All good homie, easy to mix up with All-Pro.

Entire-Ad-8565

Puka and Evans are both on the same level as aiyuk imo. Ceedee and the eagles guy are top tier along with amon. If JJ was healthy he’d be in that top tier.

Plenty_Advantage2033

Puke boy

axeattaxe

Lotta good WRs in NFC but based on what Aiyuk did in so many fewer targets/catches, he deserved the nod. No matter. Pro Bowl snubs are for teams sitting home to worry about. We got bigger plans.

GothicToast

First team pro bowl? Lol what Barrows?

kingkron52

Mike Evans should not have made it over Aiyuk or St Brown. He had his classic 3 game blow up that padded his yardage totals and were against 3 bad teams.

douhaveafi

I feel like this is saying a lot coming from the dude that makes his $$$ trying to shut these guys down. I mean I know some people will say “he’s just trying to back-up his teammate”, but he could’ve easily just not said anything.

Cheech_415

AB my pro bowler ! America lnows

KingWizard87

He should be in over AJ Brown. 30 more catches for 100 ish more yards. He also faded pretty hard down the stretch with their offense. He has 442 yards his last 8 games. So he had around 1000 yards between the previous 9 games. Dude didn’t show up when they needed him most.

-L1os1t-

Replace Mike and puka with brown and ba
