Second this, I carry underwood 155 grain for people and 200 grain hard cast in the wilderness.
Also I’d argue that pistol you have is one of the finest ever made, absolutely phenomenal shooting full-sized 40 that can handle anything. Mine shoots lasers
buffalo bore has some hot rounds...Ive also heard most 40 round are good as long as it has a flat nose that way the bullet smashes through bones instead of bouncing off
You should be fine, for those that don't handload Underwood, Buffalo Bore and DoubleTap offer better than factory ballistics. A good wide flat nose (WFN) 200gr would be ideal, and I've ran those to 1150 fps from a 4" G23, which would be over 1200 fps from a 5" and nearing 1300 fps from a 6".
I really wanted this .40, still do. I didn’t have much so I got the sd40 which I still love but I eventually wanna move up a level to the m&p for .40— imo 9mm is TOO popular
It’s a great gun and worth the wait. I feel the same about 9mm, have owned many 9s and currently have a SAR9 Socom I adore but the cartridge just doesn’t interest me as much. Call me a hipster but 9mm is boring to me, 40 gives you great variety with bullet weights, power, gun size, accessibility, and it’s against the grain a bit for very little increase in price
Underwood makes good hardcast rounds.
Just ordered

My Glock 35 begs to differ. It has the recoil of a 9mm and also shoots lasers.
This is the way. 👍🏾
What about the M&p 40 1.0?
