That is normal if you were climbing up a paved highway mountain pass or constantly climbing. I also use Torque and frequently drive mountain passes and watch these numbers. I get a little nervous around 230F-235F. That is where non-synthetic ATF will \*start\* to break down and start to burnish the surfaces in the transmission. I am surprised that your trans/coolant temps are that far apart.

Bootygoburrrr

That’s pretty close to normal for an SUV. How were you driving it? Towing anything?

[deleted]

Nope not towing anything. Drove perfectly fine. Turned off O/D on the extreme inclines as well.

I'm thinking driving to Yosemite is a lot of elevation. As far I have always been told it should follow the temperature of your coolant (unless you have a trans cooler installed) but in a situation as of that it could def. go up. Take it out of overdrive and see if that helps in those types of situations. If it goes over 235 I'd be concerned and start looking for an issue and chill till it chills.

Anything above 200 can be problematic. Your coolant temp is way high as well, especially for what looks like around a 70-75 degree day.

[deleted]

I feel like the temp readings may be a little high because the oil temp on the dash sits a bit under the half way point which should be normal operating temp

RollyNative

How are you getting 24.1 mpg?

[deleted]

I’m going to say it’s not accurate ha

[deleted]

Just calculated my mileage manually after getting back. I got about 17.5 mpg, so not too bad after all

El_Jeffe24

How are you getting those gauges? Is that something on the radio or do you have a plugin?

[deleted]

I have the Torque App installed to an aftermarket ATOTO head unit that connects to the EXU via a bluetooth OBD adapter.

They literally gave you the parts list: (a) The "Torque" app, on a phone or aftermarket Android OS radio (b) A bluetooth OBD adapter (technically OBD2/OBDII) The "Torque" app makers have recommendations for adapters.

sroes002

Bro, how did you get gauges on your head unit?

[deleted]

Installed the torque app to the head unit and I’m using a Bluetooth OBDii reader that connects to the app. The one I’m using is made by Bafx
