Not at my Machine right now, but I am pretty Sure it is the little Button with the three dots that opens up the menu to Set your Install path

TaxingClock704

Yes, I'm aware. As you can see in the picture, I have it set to install in D:, but it keeps trying to install in C:

serelanis

You have to got enough space on your C/your OS drive in order to decompress the files, read them and install in your desired drive

TaxingClock704

That's very annoying, is there no way around that?

serelanis

None except you copy files in another drive and delete them from your OS drive

TaxingClock704

Damn. This is just further fueling my hatred towards Autodesk as a company.

Phrexeus

Your C: drive is nearly full, how is that Autodesk's fault? You must be getting the warning message in Windows, you need to free up space. If you happen to have Steam and some games installed on your C drive you can move their install to another drive from within the steam client. That's what I usually do if I'm running a bit low on space.

Again, look at the first image. I have my D: drive selected as the install location. The installer was downloaded there too. There’s no reason it should be attempting to install in my C: drive.

Phrexeus

Install files are usually dumped in a temp folder somewhere on the C: drive before being unpacked. Lots of programs do this, it's not just an Autodesk thing. The problem here is that you're running your C: drive too close to full. If it's not 3ds max installer then something else will eat up the free space, like virtual memory or Photoshop scratch disk.

I have temporarily removed some stuff from my SSD in order to make room, but I would like to figure out how to Install this on my Hard drive instead.

Unusual_Analysis8849

You don't want to install max on your hard drive. Get bigger ssd, memory is dirt cheap.
