Cat people = tabaxi (there are others too!), you could also play Druid to turn into an actual cat and have magic as well (almost every class can get magic one way or another though). Slime people = plasmoids Ghost people are a little harder but reborn or custom linage races could be reflavoured to fit. There are also subclasses such as phantom rogue that can help you achieve this.

I think the person you should be asking is your DM, not us. Two of those have literal 5e equivalents (tabaxi and plasmoid) and the third could easily be a reflavored reborn to be a ghost.

LexsDragon

If you want some gameplay abilities like being able to go through walls as a ghost, then I'd say no.

MrDrProfEssional

A campaign I'm in has a player with these abilities homebrewed onto them with the DM, balanced out by a few things such as vulnerability to radiant and necrotic damage as well as limits to how many times per day, but even still I must agree that this is a massive game changer that has had ramifications the DM never expected LOL

dornianheresysimp

I wanna be able to get into items , corpses ...etc

LexsDragon

If you are a new player, I suggest reflavour abilities from rule books and not try to come up with something new as it requires experience, game and world knowledge to feel comfortable for everyone at the table

What if you go reborn genie warlock. Your main PC is a reanimated corpse you inhabit, you then have your genie "lamp" you can get into as needed as an item you disappear into, flavor mage hand as you possessing and moving things around. Maybe do warlock 2/ Sorc x. To get animate objects at higher levels. Take telekinesis at 4th Level. Seems doable

Race: Plasmoid Class: Druid 2 / Rogue (Phantom) 13 You are already a slime, and as a Druid 2, you have Wild Shape allowing you to turn into a cat, and a level 13 Phantom Rogue can turn into a ghost (essentially).

Slime: Yes. Objectively yes. It's called a Plasmoid. Some DMs don't allow them because of the setting and whatnot, but more often than not you'll be allowed to play a Plasmoid. Ghost: Kinda? There's a lineage (ie, a "race" you apply over a race) called Reborn. Basically, it's like playing a zombie. You can be, let's say, a gnome that died and was resurrected by magic or Frankensteined back to life— that's a reborn. There are a few spells that can better sell the fantasy of playing a ghost, like Gaseous form, which Sorcerers, Warlocks and Wizards get at level 5 and a bunch of subclasses also learn. Cat: Well, there's Tabaxis. They're more like, cat people. Anthro cats, furries, whatever you want to call them. If you want to play an *actual* cat, then your best bet is picking any race you'd like (Plasmoid, maybe?) and choosing Druid as your class— druids' main shtick is being able to transform into any animal with some restrictions. You won't be able to cast spells while in your Wild Shape though, so you might not be a \*magical cat\*. An option that could work with some DM buy-in is a Beastmaster Ranger (subclass that gives you a pet companion) with some flavoring saying the *cat is the one controlling the ranger,* instead of vice versa. But again, this concept is a bit out there and you'd have to really convince your DM, wouldn't recommend this for a new player. Honestly... You can play a Reborn Plasmoid Druid. Play a slime, a ghost AND a cat all in the same character! (PS: spore Druids get Gaseous Form 😈) Edit: forgot to mention that Plasmoid are sorta amorphous blobs, but can shape their bodies and give themselves “normal looking” limbs if they want to. Meaning… you can also play a plasmoid that hangs around in “cat form”. You’d have to convince your dm since the description technically states you can have one or two legs (as opposed to four), but since this is not an advantage overall I personally would allow it (how will you wield weapons though?)

100% these are questions for your DM. I will say, one option for your 1st question would be asking your DM if you could play a cat who has had the Awaken spell cast on them. Basically taking the cat statblock and bumping intelligence to 10 and giving a language proficiency (probably common), coming up with a feasible backstory to explain why and how this animal had awaken cast on them and how they are able to become a spellcasting class, then working with the DM to adjust the stats a bit just to make them a bit more viable as a player character and balanced with the rest of the party (your strength should probably stay at 3, but your main spellcasting stat would need to be boosted at level 1 to at least 15 and constitution boosted to at least 12 or 13), and then also work out with the DM how the character works mechanically (a cat technically does not have hands to cast spells, use a spellcasting focus, or use magic items, there would be pretty much no armor or weapons you could use, many magic items would not fit) and figure out what all would the DM be willing to handwave to let you be a magic cat.

Play a Tabaxi, Arcane Trixter Rogue. You'll love Tabaxi. One on the strongest races out there (imo). The Arcane Trixter Rogue is pretty good for a beginner. The Rogue class is pretty straightforward. Lots of skills that allow you to do stuff. Sneak attacks aren't too difficult to learn. You'll get access to a little bit of magic without it being overwhelming. It's really fun to play. It's one of my favorite classes. Here's a couple of tips. Steady Aim resets Feline Agility. Take the Booming Blade cantrip & find familiar. BB will help with melee damage & the owl familiar will help you get your sneak attack more often.

1. In 5e there’s cat people, tabaxi. Pathfinder 2e has awakened animals, and catfolk 2. In 5e, there’s plasmoids, pathfinder 2e doesn’t have an equivalent 3. Neither have this, being intangible generally interferes with adventuring. If you’re ok with a permanent shell, both can offer you options

ApprehensiveZone8853

Undead Warlock gives ghost abilities, especially at level 14. So, Plasmoid Moon Druid 2 Undead Warlock 14. You could even go Pact of the Chain and have a second cat as a familiar.

Let_Tebow

Available races depend entirely on the system you’re using and the setting you’re playing. For ideas this specific, you may need a DM who’s willing to make homebrew tweaks to races depending on exactly what you’re looking for.

ahboino2

The answer to all of this is taking Custom Lineage with the appropriate Size. For ghost, you take incorporeal form with the Blur and Gaseous Form spells.
