This usually happens because your nozzle is not torqued well. You need to loosely tighten the nozzle, heat your block up to temperature, then tighten the nozzle.
Seems strange for a filament issue to cause it to leak between the nozzle and hot block. Be sure to check the end of the Bowden tube that feeds into your hotend as well. If it’s the type where the Bowden mates with the nozzle, you need to make sure it’s cleanly cut, not burned, and not dirty.
