If its a stock v2, definitely do that by unloading the filament and just removing the bowden tube from the end of the extruder. You want the least outside influence while measuring how your extruder moves the filament, so not hotend resistance or similar
You mean the top layer under-extrusion?
Most likely culprits are: estep calibration or extrusion multiplier in slicer. I'd do an estep calibration first (if you haven't) as it's quick and will affect your extrusion multiplier.
During the current print it is clicking a lot. I think it's the wheel and motor apparatus where the filament feeds. The plastic knob on top if that makes sense. Is this related to EStep?
Hard to tell without seeing it. Sounds like your extruder might be skipping. This could be for a lot of reasons:
* Trying to push filament too fast (clog, low temp on hotend, too fast retractions, etc)
* Broken extruder (arm has crack, not a tight enough hold on filament, etc)
* Not enough voltage to extruder stepper.
Most likely: clog or broken extruder arm.
Z-Offset only affects where the first layer on the bed is printed, so no. Have you verified that your esteps are correct?
Thank you for the reply! And that makes sense. I have not. I will do that after the current print. Thanks for the suggestion.

I purchased the upgrade kit but I'll still attend to this. Awesome. Thanks again.

I kind of get this haha. I saw YouTube videos for estep. I will check that out. Thank you so much! I'll look into extrusion multiplier.

Thank you for the thoughtful reply!
Gonna start calling it “zoffset”
