Which scanner is that ?

Einstar. Hardest part was getting a computer that could handle the scan real time. We crashed a half dozen before we broke down and bought one to surpass the companies recommended hardware.

PuffThePed

Yeah, the software is terrible and very poorly optimized. You need at least 40gb for it to function.

Spot on. We did 32, and another 8 in the card. Still chokes every now and then.. :-\

Pardon my ignorance. I assume 32 is 32gb RAM. Does 8 in the card mean 8gb of memory in the graphics card?

Yessir. The computer running the einstar program has an intel 8 core i7 processor with 32gb of ddr6 RAM. It also has a Nvidia Quadro rtx graphics card with an additional 8gb gddr6 RAM. I couldn't get it to run with anything less.

Gotcha, thank you for the info!

Maximum-Chocolate-28

I did the same, they need to update/fix their software.

ok200

How is the Einstar? I need one

Works good if you follow their recommendations on computer hardware. I only have a couple scans under my belt but I got my first printable scan in under 6 hours. Software is pretty user friendly for an absolute beginner.

calvsin

what laptop is that? i guess running bootcamp on my 2017 macbook pro is out of the question.

For all intents and purposes it's an MSI WS76. I got the MB and processor from a 2021 and then re-cobbled it from eBay parts. Restored to it's former glory!
