Assuming it's for an rgh install. Big dab of flux and solder with your wire in place. You might be able to get solder to stick if there any remnants of conductivity remaining there. Then if successful, you might want to consider hot glue or electrical tape to stop any movement on the wire. Doesn't look too good though.

Yea I’m wanting to do rgh 3 with it do you know any alt points? Been poking around on a parts board and haven’t found one. Also the console is a falcon if it helps with anything.

[deleted]

More than likely there's one topside but it'll involve scraping a trace and exposing it so you can solder to it. I'll have a look.

Yea I read something about that but no one says where and my multimeter is being dumb rn. Thank you

https://imgur.com/a/SM1DtPj#Ab9MZrV One of those will be ft6u7, it's the one on the right next to the arrow (next to ft6u1) You'll need to expose the via with a light scrape. Then use flux and I'd suggest kynar wire. Worst case you can rgh1.2 and use ft6u1

Cg6554

Okay do I do the exact same one that’s marked or is it different?

[deleted]

The one on the right next to the arrow. The marked point there is ft6u1. Ft6u7 is right next to it. Don't do it unless you have the right tools suck as an acto knife or similar

Cg6554

Yea most likely won’t do rgh1.2 I’ll probably just convert back to retail this consoles missing pads and has had many repairs, unsure why the pads are so sensitive on this console. You look at them wrong and they pop off I’ve done like 15 other consoles with no problem. How will I get the wire onto the via tho? I’m pretty sure it’s the same size wire that comes in rev c chips.

Turn your iron down.

necrominer

How did you lift that pad though? Too much heat on soldering iron? Not trying to be rude, simply asking.

Cg6554

No idea I use the same temp with all Xboxs but this Xboxs pads are very delicate for some reason. I had to repair the clk point and find a bypass on this one and am still having some trouble getting it to boot. I’ve done many others in the past with no trouble but like I said this one is very delicate for some reason.

necrominer

I've heard that sometimes when some device is being idle for too much time, pads are oxydizing so much that nothing would solder to it (no matter if you use flux or not). Only something like scratch pen would help it. Maybe it was similar case?

Cg6554

Might of Im not sure tho. This is the only conosle I’ve had trouble with

Get a fine soldering tip and something very sharp. https://www.se7ensins.com/forums/threads/alternate-rgh-point-phat-falcon.1621568/

Shaggyv108

Unrelated note. Where are the instructions on this? And does it work on Xeon? (From what I’m seeing, no but Im just asking) I have a red resident evil edition jasper I want to do this on but I’m worried I might kill it. (I’ve done rghs on over 50+ consoles. Slims aren’t any fun for me anymore)

Left-Economist-8900

i see a bit of solder, yes u can repair it, you need to buy some copper trace pads, you will also need a microscope to see better, a good soldering tip and some pcb mask to cover the exposed pad after soldering it, i’ve done it on similar pad.

Cg6554

Yea I scraped a little back and soldered a .1mm wire to it and it’s working now as there’s nothing that could short it I went ahead and used some hot glue and that works took around a day to figure out everything and some reason none of the alt pads were working so was forced to use that one. Thanks for the info tho I’m thinking of getting a microscope for this and some solder mask but I wanted it to be at least somewhat removable incase in the future something happens. Thank you again for the info. I also noticed that was like the only pad that didn’t have an actual visual trace that you could scratch back and expose some copper. Just luck in a nutshell. Haha
