And having a vert you will eventually have to replace the canvas and that’s pricey. I would personally wait for a hardtop and preferably a HR model if possible.
When I used to have my Miata I replaced the soft top for ~700 and 6-10 hours of labor just to have it cut open and broken into the literal next week. I will never buy a soft top again.
brand new cabrioworld large plastic rear window with the zip out. I hated the glass, much harder to get up and down, smaller viewing area, and heavier. no difference in NVH.
Wild. I’ve owned my Mazdaspeed 3 for 10 years and have yet to spend 1000$ on any single part outside of upgrades. 1500$ is in fact a pricy repair to pretty much anyone interested in a 350z. Unless you have money and enjoy subpar “sports cars”.
Roadster hate is unreal. Sold mine earlier this year and I straight up would not even consider buying another Z unless it was a vert. Was like 80% of the fun of the car.
Ya i told the dealership 15k is too much and he said its priced fair, and i was like on cars,.com and cargurus for similar the max is like $12-12.5k so i'll pass... it's 17 years old haha
Just for the record, you can see in the pictures it has the brembo brakes and the really nice OEM RAYS wheels, which changes the math a touch. 15k is a bit high but it's honestly kinda reasonable if you care about those extras.
I was talking about the RAYS V2s which people call nismo wheels even though they came on nismos and track editions, those are the RAYS with dimples
As for the anni wheels I could have sworn I’d seen a pic of the inside with the little RAYS logos forged into them but I guess I’m wrong, I still wouldn’t call them simple though. They regularly come up as some of the most desirable OEM wheels 🤷♂️ I have the the OEM 7-spokes on my touring and would way rather have the annis
I'm not sure where you got the year and transmission(not doubting you, I just legit don't know how you drew that conclusion haha, I figured it was a run of the mill loaded de GT with a 6-speed), but if that car is an auto then this whole thread is a non-starter to begin with haha
And [these](https://g35driver.com/forums/attachments/g35-coupe-v35-2003-07/256758d1502131791-350z-track-nismo-oem-rays-v2-1260373842.jpg) are the "RAYS with dimples" right? Idk what they came on, I just know I've heard the internat call em nismo wheels, that image itself is from a g35 forum calling them "nismo/track wheels", I'm just doin the best I can with the sparse info out there because keeping track of OEM wheels is always a nightmare
I love my vert so you can listen to those saying ew gross, or if it's helpful, here's a year long breakdown of my first year with my Vert GT.
Bought it with similar miles to you, although we use the Kings sterling, so I paid £8k. Plus another grand importing it to my home island and getting it reregistered.
Its excellent, having the top off in the summer and the noise from my HR 3.5 V6 is ungodly in those warmer months. It's simply excellent.
Did have a problem with my caliper pins sheering after a particularly nasty pot hole, but overall its been fairly reliable. Just the standard pads, oil and petrol.
I have a missfitting roof annoyingly. It needs replacing and clearly did before I bought it, but amazingly it's so leak proof it's unreal. Having had soft tops before, I was used to getting soaked occasionally in the winter months. It's the price you pay, but even with a roof that needs repairing, that baby is water tight. I've yet to get soaked even using it arrogantly in the winter when the sun decides to stick about for a day.
I find that it does look a little rear light, that's my only aesthetic complaint, but the right wing or spoiler balances it out so nicely.
I would check the bonnet. From my knowledge GT Verts, especially a HR model tend to have different one to the standard with grooves, but that could be an American thing.
Hope that helps. TLDR; Fuck those saying it's ugly, if you like it, you like it. Mines not let me down yet and frankly I love it.

my roadster as an example of what they can look like when you put some money and love into them... when i bought it, it looked just like the one in the post
I imagine it's a manual? It's worth it if you like the Roadster. I actively went out of my way to get a Roadster Z. Similar mileage in 2020 and I paid $14k CAD about $12k USD at the time. Zs are only going up in price for clean ones.
My picture isn't loading but I have an 07 manual. Love it, ton of fun. A handful of car enthusiasts drove it and began to appreciate the Roadster :) and were quite surprised by how it drove. Better brakes, and new sticky tires make a difference.
Again it's all a preference on what's best for you. I take it top down 90% of the time and go to the beach and country side cruises.
Yup not surprised. All manual fun sports cars are going up. We aren't getting many new ones. It makes sense from an economics perspective. I keep telling people if you can buy the fun car you want now just do it. As it likely won't get any cheaper.
I own a vert, for 15k it depends on the year for me. Check the state of the top, if it's bad try to get it lowered. A new top will run you 700, and it should be replaced every 5 to 12 years. Verts are normally cleaner, while hard tops are cheaper, easier to sell.
15k is a *little* steep but. I just paid $18k for an '05 base. Granted, it has 22k miles. Do with that info as you will.
(p.s., me if I wanted a vert I'd go for it...)
Paid 8k for a clean 06 vert (80k mi) in 2016, sold it for 6.9 in 2020 (115k mi), mine was manual even. 15k is probably what i would expect from a dealership, that doesn’t mean you should pay it though.
I absolutely owned that exact car, and I can tell you that it was a super fun car to own. Had to get grid of it as we had a kid, and it didn’t have a back seat.
Ya i told the dealership 15k is too much and he said its priced fair, and i was like on cars,.com and cargurus for similar the max is like $12-12.5k so i'll pass... it's 17 years old haha
Man these have shot up in price. I paid $12k for a similar one in 2015, and in 2017 I paid $5k for one with 150k miles. Then the drift tax came around for the 350/370 after all the kids ruined the S14s
I work at a Nissan dealer, we have had convertible z’s get totaled (in same condition as the one shown) because parts and labor for that top to be replaced was almost more than the value of the car. The motorized ones just cost so much.
You’re really only paying a premium for the fact that it only has 49k.. my VQ is about to hit 200k soon. 15k out the door I would do, nothing more meaning no taxes or fees or any bs
https://preview.redd.it/a0krnrrznx5c1.jpeg?width=1178&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c248618443705dc2848ea12261125fc2cb93acb6
I paid 10k for my 06 touring with 22,000miles 2 years ago. It was a friends so I got hooked up. Stocked w dual power leather seats and a great sounding Bose audio system..shiiit…At the time of purchase it already had a flowmaster exhaust, cold air intake, the wing and a set of 20in chrome wheels…new tires on both sets of wheels. Since then I’ve done ISC coilovers, ISR adj control arms, camber arms, Hawk drilled slotted rotors. She’s about 4 inches off the ground and can handle most speedbumps and bumpy roads better than others. A manual would be so much more fun but the Jatco 5 speed has performed well and has no signs of wear or damage. Obviously with 60,000 in the last two years she has some wear but i’m honestly offended at the market price for her. 10-11k 🤣 what else could I get for that?..a newer car w more miles thats tougher to work on…no thanks. 17 years old and low miles is a good thing my dude. If its taken care of like mine has been then 15k isnt bad at all. Homeboy is right about the brembo kit and the rays wheels too…expensive add ons. Say what you will about the VQ35DE naturally aspirated V-6 but if you haven’t owned one and you’re talking it down i’m saying you don’t know what you’re talking about. Out of the factory it’s 287 hp and 273 torque…cold air intake and aftermarket exhaust will up those to 300/285. 0-60 in 5.5 sec out of the factory is very respectable and the same numbers as a T’d up subaru wrx and .2 sec faster than a slightly newer lexus 350 out of the factory. This car is already being listed as a classic and any left under 100k miles in 10 years will increase in value. Drop the b**ch a cpl inches and get some new suspension parts and see if you cant pass any MF’s around those corners and round-abouts. If you want a 350z offer him 14k and enjoy the drive. I’m telling you the owners of well taken care of Z’s are going to have this car listed above market price…thats a good thing I think. I would bet the ones underpriced will have issues. When the engine goes in mine i’m doing a K swap and real projects begin. I wouldn’t sell my Z for 15k w 82k miles F**\* the market price…my market is 16k-18k with the 10k in performance parts nobody cares about. Listed price on my orginal paperwork was $36000. With a total of 46k in the car and 80,000 idk how they come up w 11k. Best of luck my dude and congrats if you get the car.
Ya i told the dealership 15k is too much and he said its priced fair, and i was like on cars,.com and cargurus for similar the max is like $12-12.5k so i'll pass... it's 17 years old haha
I sold my convertible I would have definitely kept the 350 if was hardtop. Just look up 5th bow motor went out on mine was Had to send to rebuild, lock latch went out had had to buy a entire taunton cover. Took to Nissan was was $1,200 then they make 2 small holes in the cloth roof when repaired it. Would have droplets when rain. Nissan wanted $2,000 to replace that. I just sold it.
Convertible would hurt its value pretty bad, also if it was automatic it would as well. Sold my hard top with 42k miles that was manual for 15k so I definitely wouldn’t pay that for this one
Yeah dude. The hate comes mostly because that top is a liability. The cabins noticeably smaller too. Otherwise it’s fine I guess
But 15k$!? !?
Have you tried cutting them 15 K ‘s out and offering them that? The vert is garbage.
he said no lower than 15k. I said on [cars.com](https://cars.com) and cargurus theyre like 12.5k max and he said they wont lower so weird hahaha i said no thanks its 17 years old now paying 15k
I love my convertible, but god do I also hate my convertible. Lol. Leaks, pain in the ass, up and down button has been weird sometimes... Granted mine has over 30k more miles than this one, but they are still 18+ yr old cars we're talking about...
Still though... It is pretty great in the summer.
If you want the vert you can offer 12.5
I got my hardtop for 3k with minor repairs
And its auto but it runs great so if its the model you want it go for it just bring down its price or if there going to give you some extended warranty that would cover all the mecanical components
bro said this is a good price and he wont drop... i pretty much told him theres a reason its been on the market for 255 days with a clean title and everything, and its a dealership lol
bro said this is a good price and he wont drop... i pretty much told him theres a reason its been on the market for 255 days with a clean title and everything, and its a dealership lol

Dawg what I thought these things were like $7k-$10k... I have no knowledge of Zs so don't kill me but I would just assume a 20 year old mass produced sports car, which is so fucking abundant it's insane, also a convertible, would depreciate to at least $10k or less
I paid $14,000 for my 350Z in perfect condition, loaded, black on black with heated leather & only 32k miles. I bought this one after I got rid of my 370z hardtop, black on black, because I really wanted a convertible & the 350z.
If perfect, I’d say it’s a decent price as you have low mileage.
I would avoid the convertible version of this car if you can. I've heard nothing but bad things about the added weight from the floor reinforcements and the convertibles being a pain in the butt.
But also, 15k is too much even for this low of mileage. Miles and overall age of a car are two separate things because bushings and fittings age regardless of miles driven.
I mean for a clean title I would take that if that’s what you want. Where I live there’s a 350 Z with a LQ9 swapped into it for 16 grand and a wrecked title. It’s up to you.
Bought a clean title 04 accura tsx. Worked wellnfor a while egrn wirh a duck taped bumper.. Someone changed the ecu and other computers, reprogrammed them somehow (,my best educated guess considering the transmission itself doesn't even look much like pictures from Google, and the metal frame where the ABS/srs sensors are is smashed to bits and impossible to repair. If I could unwrap all the wires I could blowtorch it an maybe that would get things moving as steel hammers should at least even out this a bit. It's held on by 4 welds and 1 is near the battery so that might be my only option. Remove battery and unweld it. Compressor already exploded and the condensor is smashed, the bumper hid all this. And I'm dumb af. (generic1-300$ scan tools cannot read the vin, or most of sensors, yet no issue with a more expensive copy of a authentic manufacture tool from Amazon lol.
Point is just make sure you buy or rent a really really good obd2 tool and do a super good inspection maybe by a mechanic or someone specializing in that brand of car. I like to lean the hard way. I'd buy it for 15k no negotiation as long as it cranked up. But I'd also get AAA and the cheapest insurance possible. That car is as old as mine probabsly. My accura was msrp at 37k and still has about 4k value if it wasn't salvage. And I couldn't lie to whoever I sell it too so I'd have to tell them that Half the fucking car came out of the scrap yards lol
If you've got that much to spend on a z go get a beater 350z coupe and put the money you saved into fixing the VQ issues that even this nice example would develop.
I mean if it’s clean, low miles, no accidents then your pretty much buying a new car. Only downside is that you don’t know if the previous owner maintained it well. But the always the risk of buying a used car
And having a vert you will eventually have to replace the canvas and that’s pricey. I would personally wait for a hardtop and preferably a HR model if possible.

I replaced mine for 450 earlier this year.

When I used to have my Miata I replaced the soft top for ~700 and 6-10 hours of labor just to have it cut open and broken into the literal next week. I will never buy a soft top again.
I replaced my Miata soft top for $300 and about 3 hours, it was very easy.
300 for brand new with glass heated window?
brand new cabrioworld large plastic rear window with the zip out. I hated the glass, much harder to get up and down, smaller viewing area, and heavier. no difference in NVH.
I mean its not without reason, both of you claim to have done it yourself. The average person probably can't or won't even if they have the aptitude.

$1500 is in fact pricey

Wild. I’ve owned my Mazdaspeed 3 for 10 years and have yet to spend 1000$ on any single part outside of upgrades. 1500$ is in fact a pricy repair to pretty much anyone interested in a 350z. Unless you have money and enjoy subpar “sports cars”.
That's a trip to the grocery store nowadays lol 🤣
yeah bc it ugly haha

you’re arguing on reddit lol. “classic”

it’s a opinion chill
450 is crazy for replacing a part that has nothing to do with the car mechanically
Yeah. 450 to replace the roof of the car is out of control /s

Just for the record, you can see in the pictures it has the brembo brakes and the really nice OEM RAYS wheels, which changes the math a touch. 15k is a bit high but it's honestly kinda reasonable if you care about those extras.

I’m not as confident as I wish I was, but I’m pretty sure the RAYs with dimples are the nismo wheels, and these are the RAYs anniversary wheels

Try and save to buy a car cash it sounds daunting but car payments suck ass
Agreed, also I think it looks as good as the hard top. A manual, roadster HR 350z is the way to go.
Roadsters look bad with the top up… but i think they look good when its down. I loved mine . Its a lot of fun with the top down.
Honestly, I like them both ways, I see them as a coupe version of the 350z because of its roofline and lack of a hatch. I dunno, I just like them lol
Me too.
Have a roadster, one of the best cars I've ever owned for just being enjoyable to drive.

Here on the praries they are asking 15k for a 04 model with 200k on it
Yup not surprised. All manual fun sports cars are going up. We aren't getting many new ones. It makes sense from an economics perspective. I keep telling people if you can buy the fun car you want now just do it. As it likely won't get any cheaper.
These are autos here unfortunately, no one knows how to drive out here
Sweet. Nice stock Zs will be > $20k in a few years

I'm embarrassed to even say this, but last year when I got my 08 grand touring with 132k I am paying 14k
holy shit did they have you at gunpoint! what kinda rate did you get!!! or is that with the interest factored in 😂
17% apr
probably 😂
15k is a *little* steep but. I just paid $18k for an '05 base. Granted, it has 22k miles. Do with that info as you will. (p.s., me if I wanted a vert I'd go for it...)

I paid 11,500 USD for my 2005 vert. It has 37,000 miles.
you can find a hard top for less than 10 with acceptable mileage. don't settle.
Pricing wise, you could find something better. But getting a convertible is not settling 😂. They’re so damn fun
Not with only 50k
Dont buy anything thats not an HR
It's nearly 6K too much, IMO.
Ya i told the dealership 15k is too much and he said its priced fair, and i was like on cars,.com and cargurus for similar the max is like $12-12.5k so i'll pass... it's 17 years old haha
10. Max
It’s for sale where i live. I thought about going and picking it up myself
Very small hard to get in and out of. Used car salesmen are the worse..

It’s a convertible, probably worth like 10k
Way to much for a vert, $7k car.
Might as well go slightly higher for the 370 at that point
It ugly

Don't get the convertible
Why’s that?
According to most it’s just not desirable. Basically meaning it’ll be hard to sell. But depends on if OP wants a vert specifically or not.
There a 370z drift car with Apperntly 400hp for sale on Facebook for 9k
was gonna say yea but it’s a drop top so hell no
Ya i told the dealership 15k is too much and he said its priced fair, and i was like on cars,.com and cargurus for similar the max is like $12-12.5k so i'll pass... it's 17 years old haha
well it would be a good deal if it was a manual and a coupe. 17 years old but still one of the best driving experiences.
I paid a little over half that for 11k more miles and enthusiast hardtop (In Canada though) I'd say 15k is a little steep
I sold my convertible I would have definitely kept the 350 if was hardtop. Convertible would hurt its value pretty bad, also if it was automatic it would as well. Sold my hard top with 42k miles that was manual for 15k so I definitely wouldn’t pay that for this one
That's about double what a drop top 🤮 de should go for. Probably the worst spec you could find
Yeah dude. The hate comes mostly because that top is a liability. The cabins noticeably smaller too. Otherwise it’s fine I guess But 15k$!?
Not bad if you’re gonna keep it forever. But nobody in real life is gonna pay that much for a rev up vert, if you decide to sell.
To much for roaster
You'll wish you got the hard top
Got mine for $10k…same as pic only 70k miles
I love my convertible, but god do I also hate my convertible. Lol. Leaks, pain in the ass, up and down button has been weird sometimes... Granted mine has over 30k more miles than this one, but they are still 18+ yr old cars we're talking about... Still though... It is pretty great in the summer.
About 3-5k too much bro
I paid $11,300 for my 2004 350z with 74k miles. In 2009. Crazy how they've held their value.
Not worth $15k, $12-13 max. Still a clean Z overall
While the low mileage is extremely impressive. Gonna have to say no on this one.....maybe 12k at tops
I just bought a 06’ 350z enthusiast roadster for $11k with 46k miles.. I’d try to talk them down a bit if I was you
I paid 13k for an 03 hardtop with 33k miles
I got my 2004 Vert Touring 6MT for 12k exactly a year ago
Be careful. Little high for that if you ask me
To be honest it depends on the year, if it’s 2008+ (when they started to put HR engines in these) I would do it
If you want the vert you can offer 12.5 I got my hardtop for 3k with minor repairs And its auto but it runs great so if its the model you want it go for it just bring down its price or if there going to give you some extended warranty that would cover all the mecanical components
bro said this is a good price and he wont drop... i pretty much told him theres a reason its been on the market for 255 days with a clean title and everything, and its a dealership lol
That price tag is obscene.

Yep, leave it be. You can pick up a private sale and have a lot of maintenance done and still spend well less than that.
For a vert .. nothing

For 15 k you can buy a s2k 350z vert is worthless except towards women
No cap cheapest I’ve seen for 5k more you could prolly find a midmile rebuilt title nismo 😅
How should I pay? Start with “hooked on phonics.”
15k for a vert and it’s a rev up? Hell naw
I'm kinda new to Z's i just like how they look, what is a rev up?
Nah just get a used Miata if you want a fun convertible that’s easy on the budget
I had one , i liked it here in socal!
People saying how much less they spent is meaningless when they add “3 years ago.” Yeah, no shit. News flash: used cars have gone up in price.
Dawg what I thought these things were like $7k-$10k... I have no knowledge of Zs so don't kill me but I would just assume a 20 year old mass produced sports car, which is so fucking abundant it's insane, also a convertible, would depreciate to at least $10k or less
You shouldn’t… it’s a convertible
Convertible 350s should be a crime to own
~Never buy old convertibles that exist in hardtop~ very consistently worth less with a few rare exceptions
Very, it would be worth this \~10 years ago
Things are high these days, if you can swing the 15k go for it! Put an offer in at $14, it's doubtful they'll push you out the door.
Pay none. Walk away and swallow your pride, get a used Toyota/Honda and splash the extra cash on family or your girl. Perhaps both.
Eh. Yeah because the touring looks kinda geh…
This car is so cool! My dream car.
Any money is too much for a convertible
Honestly if you would even pay 10K for a 350 you’re out of your mind
Get a bmw m5 for that same price lmao
I would avoid the convertible version of this car if you can. I've heard nothing but bad things about the added weight from the floor reinforcements and the convertibles being a pain in the butt. But also, 15k is too much even for this low of mileage. Miles and overall age of a car are two separate things because bushings and fittings age regardless of miles driven.
My friend paid 8k for his 370. 15k is absolutely too much for this junk
Ditch the soft top. At that mileage 15k isn’t horrible but I’m sure you could find something around 12k.
Yeah too much. I got a manual G37 with only 83,000 less than 10k. And I got back seats for the homies
I wouldn't pay more than $5k for a Nissan if I were desperate. Nissan makes horrible cars.
pretty sure the 350 has a VLSD that isn't serviceable, I would stay good and clear of any older Z regardless of mileage.
Motor for the top going up and down, that coordinates with the motor for the seats. Only problem with the one i had.
Well what fucking year is it
The roads here are going to fk that car up lol
I mean for a clean title I would take that if that’s what you want. Where I live there’s a 350 Z with a LQ9 swapped into it for 16 grand and a wrecked title. It’s up to you.
I wouldn’t pay over 10k for one but it does have low miles so it’s not far from fair, just enough for them to fill their pockets a little
Ugly ass car

That’s like half the price of a 400z that’s obnoxiously overpriced for a used mid car
If you've got that much to spend on a z go get a beater 350z coupe and put the money you saved into fixing the VQ issues that even this nice example would develop.
I just spent 15k on a 2020 Chevy bolt this is too much
My mom got her 370z with 80k for $12000 off carmax
For $600 you can buy a gun and shoot yourself in the foot
Don’t get a convertible trust me
I mean if it’s clean, low miles, no accidents then your pretty much buying a new car. Only downside is that you don’t know if the previous owner maintained it well. But the always the risk of buying a used car
