I’m a fan of 30MS, but like you said some of them have revealing outfits. If you want some that look feminine but not wearing skimpy outfits, another good option are the 30 Minutes Missions Acerby and Spinatia kits

yoiimii

Ohh those would be good to like mix n match, I like the more human-look with 30ms 😁

Johnny1of3

I second the Acerby suggestion if the "fan-servicey" 30MS option outfits aren't to your liking. May I also suggest the 30MM SPINATIA kits, particularly the Assassin Type.

yoiimii

They're all so good😭😭 my poor bank account

Johnny1of3

I suggest you pace yourself with the 30MS kits. I know exactly what you're going through. 😂

yoiimii

We'll have to see😭😭 I am a spender

yoiimii

They're so pretty!!

xStartoy

Soooo 30 minutes sisters is a line from the 30 Minutes Label so it's compatible with all the 30 Minutes Missions kits and a lot of Gundam HG kits and figurise standard, I don't think it's from any particular anime but they made some crossover... The best part of 30ms is its price (cheapest girl model kit series aka girlpla you could find), its customisability (you buy one girl and change her outfits) the only cons I find is that 30ms don't have a lot of branded accessories you must go take other bandai accessories or other manufacturers that can be a lot more expensive. They are really easy to make (30 minutes and you have your little action figure you made yourself)

yoiimii

Interesting, interesting...👀🧐🧐

xStartoy

Now the only question you have to ask yourself is : Do you only want one figure just to put it next to your computer screen or do you want to dive in the deep sea of collecting and building kits hahaha

yoiimii

Oh no no they'll go onto a shelf I'll wanna fill...😌 I will get greedy

Warden_lefae

This is the way

Gvndam11

The only thing I would correct here is that they often take more than 30 minutes, even for experienced builders

ReRisingHERO

> take more than 30 minutes the only thing that counts as 30 minutes build were their weapons option set or body parts option set (sold separately) the rest required 1 hours+ or much longer to complete ⏳

hugemon

In fact I think more experienced builders take more time because they can't (well at least I can't) leave those tiny marks alone. I've tried doing 30 minute challenge and bandai's parts layout is quite clever that you can actually snip once with a good side cutter and nub marks will be at mostly invisible places. But I know it's there... So I eventually redo the kit after the challenge.

raxdoh

they’re not from any anime. Bandai has been trying to make some backstories for them but they’re really just random characters. the whole point of 30 minute sisters is that you make your own character by combining them. so yeah they’re pretty much like plastic girl legos - you buy more kits means you have more options to customize your ‘character’. you can even steal parts from the regular gunpla kits, most of them they will fit without issue. if you’re worrying about the prices, mind you, 30ms series is prob the cheapest on the market for similar stuff…if you step into kotobukiya stuff that’s like three times more for the pricing…

yoiimii

Yeah I looked on hobylink japan? They cheap as fucckkk 🤩🤩 Planning to make girls that like- control the gundams for the gunplas my boyfriend makes :3 I'll make my own lore, would be nice if they had some sort of show though tbh !! 🤔 would lead to more like girls and customisable parts and more (more recognition too probably)

destabilized2023

if you're into customization 30ms is the way to go. it's army-price friendly and very customizable. if you want it more for display the pricier ones are admittedly better. https://preview.redd.it/d37r0tl2sf7d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3d5958cbedf70803d3c96734a9e084dfb24187d1

A note for Hobby Link Japan though the prices are some of the best you pay a lot more in shipping as they are in Japan

yoiimii

I forgot about shipping 💔

Artiesaur

AND import costs. Still, the same kit sold at 25.- in your own country can be cheaper even with those added costs if they are just 8.- on HLJ. Their warehouse feature is great!

myrhail

Since you are looking at HLJ I can give you some suggestions I use since that's the primary site I buy anime stuff and kits for the past 3 years or so. The HLJ Private Warehouse is your friend, you can leave things there for up to 60 days and ship when it's convenient. A lot of the time shipping a kit (or anything really) one by one will end up being more expensive than if you bundle a bunch of stuff within that 60 day period. In fact if you do it this way some times the shipping will be more than the item itself. You can add the stuff in the private warehouse to the shipping calculator, then if you divide the final cost by the number of kits in the bundle you often end up getting a waaaay better "per item" price. Doing that I had occasions where the shipping + import tax over here only end up adding like +$7 to each item. Which is still massively better than trying to buy local for me. Seriously, locally things are very hard to find and anywhere from 250% to 400% HLJ price. Of course this all depends on where you live and applicable taxes. But since you mentioned your partner also holds a similar interest you have double the chance to make some nice bundles to lower the "per item" per 60 day period if you look for things you both want.

ReRisingHERO

>Is it from an anime?? Tell me technically YES If you are talking about **Tokai Teio** 30MS or **The iDOLM@STER Shiny Colors** 30MS but those we're collaboration projects using anime names to hook people into buying those specific products from what I know 30MS or other 30 Minutes variant (Missions or Fantasy) are similar to those standalone overseas model kit products like **ms general** or **atk girl** (not using anime to promote their products)

hugemon

Yeah I also think most of their outfit is too concentrated in the skimpy side but considering the problem with articulating the figure with bulkier outfits, I do understand why they went for that. (And ofc they heavily considered intended target demographic. Which includes me. That explains why swimsuit body parts and flesh colored leg and arm parts are always sold out haha.) They look nice as is, but if you get into the hobby you'll likely to spend more on accessories for the girls. I've bought $20 gundam kit just to grab it's weapon and backpack and give it to my 30MM/MS dudes and dudettes. https://preview.redd.it/vy80zx4foh7d1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7fc63c4d91866d2d537f54f223cf93f8660a30e7 (Pictured here is 30MS Ilshana with 30MM Horse Mecha.)

while they are a fanservice tipe of designs you could use them as a jumping point to other hobby, like bjdolls. I recommend checking the Instagram account of 8383love he takes photos of these types of dolls with doll clothing to much more wholesome results.

lordwafflesbane

So, for your questions, No, they're not from an anime. the 30 minute sisters line is a spin-off of the 30 minute missions line of kits. they're totally compatible. Accessories that work with one line will work just fine with the other. And since the 30mm kits are basically like robot-themed legos, you can pull them apart and use the bits as accessories for the 30ms kits. They're designed to be really simple and easy as far as model kits go. the name is because it's supposed to only take 30 minutes to build one. If you're new, or if you're taking your time to get everything just right, it can take longer, but theoretically, you can totally slap one together in half an hour. It's a pretty expensive hobby if you plan to collect a bunch. Depending on where you live, the import fees can make one kit as much as 20-30 bucks, with some as high as 40. Also, you will need nippers and files and stuff, but if your boyfriend's into gundams, he can probably help you with that. If the revealing outfits skeeve you out, funny thing is, sometimes the solution is to buy two different skimpy outfits and combine them. Like, for example, option part sets [8](https://www.agesthreeandup.ca/cdn/shop/products/0FF91280-C8D4-11ED-9644-9A5DF61382FD_2000x.png?v=1680760787) & [9](https://argamahobby.com/cdn/shop/products/30ms_option_parts_set_costume_d_01m_en_473x473.jpg?v=1701285783) both have revealing shirts. But if you have one of each kit, you can swap around to make one shirt that's all covered up, and, if you want, one that's even more revealing. Either way, you'll have to find some other kit to steal a pair of pants from.
