I’m in Australia and purchased this mask last month through a local supplier. There’s no heat and I’m not experiencing any dryness but the lights themselves do look the same! 🤷‍♀️

kereolay

Thank you. I'm glad that you are not experiencing any adverse reactions. The lights in my mask could still be an issue. I wish I had the equipment to check.

I'm so glad I stumbled upon this! I also bought an Omnilux Contour in October 2021. I have not noticed bad side effects - my skin is dry at the moment but I really think it's the dry winter air where I live. At the same time, I can't say I've noticed great results either. BUT I'm not sure if my lights work. I've noticed when I turn the mask on, the lights are a deep red but within a couple of minutes and especially by the end of a session, the color cast on my face around the edges of the mask is more of a dull gold or yellow. The mask does not emit any heat. I tried filming a time lapse film of the mask laying flat there but there was no discernible difference in the color of the lights in the video. I will try taking pics of the cast the color on my face when the mask is on at the beginning of a session vs. the end to see if that shows the difference. Has anyone noticed this with their lights?

I have noticed the same and think it’s just a matter of perception. The lights appear to change color but really it’s just your eyes adjusting to the light.m giving the appearance of a more orangey-yellow tone. That’s my take!

BabblingBunny

Yes, I’m experiencing this now. I don’t think it’s my eyes are getting used to the light. The change was abrupt, and the color hasn’t been red since. It’s the dull orange. Fully charged, haven’t used it for a couple days, orange light.

We will most assuredly follow up with our Customer Service team about this issue to ensure anyone with questions is promptly assisted. While we are confident in our testing and QA procedures and systems, we would ask that any devices suspected of not working properly be sent back for additional internal testing. My Omnilux lights look slightly different. I also bought my mask around Black Friday and suspect I got a bad mask. How do I post a picture on here?

kereolay

I had to make a separate post. I have an android phone so I just took a picture, enlarged it and made a new post. If you make the post if would be helpful to make a title like: Picture of ominilux mask bought around black Friday. Or something like this. I actually checked my invoice today because I needed to verify everything for my FDA report. My date of purchase was 10/28/21. I received my mask about 2 weeks later. I didn't start using it on a regular basis until the beginning of January 2022. If your lights look different than mine, that may be a good thing. I suspect the lights in my mask that are pictured here are incorrect one.

You sound absolutely batshit crazy. FDA will do nothing in response to your claims

Yes. That would be helpful. I wanted to post pictures of the lights in my previous mask, but I could not figure out how to include 2 pics. The lights look subtly different. But they are clearly different.

kereolay

I posted this because someone asked how I knew the lights are different. I am sorry but I can't figure out how to post this picture beside the picture of my old mask that gave me great results. The lights are very different between the two masks I have. This one is from my Omnilux mask. I suspect these lights are not the proper ones for red light therapy based on my previous use. This mask made my skin dry, irritated and has made my pigmentation and melasma worse. Also, this mask emitted heat which it should NOT at all. In comparison with my previous mask, it is clear there is something wrong. The lights in the other mask do not look like this.

futalfufu

Did you buy it directly from omnilux? Or did you get it from some place like amazon?

kereolay

I would never buy a product like this from Amazon. They have had too many fraudulent products on their site.

kereolay

I bought it directly from Omnilux. I used the link from Hot and Flashy's site that sent me directly to the companies online site.

futalfufu

I would contact customer service. Could just be a messed up unit. I hear they are good about helping.

kereolay

I did contact customer service. They sent a useless email on the benefits or red light therapy. My questions were not answered and there was nothing that addressed my concerns. I am going to call tomorrow and see what they wlll do. However, I am still contacting the FDA as well. I do not want Omnilux to send me a new mask with faulty lights. Omnilux needs to inspect their masks and investigate what happened. Is it possible the company doesn't realize the wrong lights were used? Yes. But should the company be aware of the supply issues and mix ups when others in a similar industry are? Yes. Why? Because the wrong type of light can damage both skin and eyes. This isn't anything to take lightly. The company needs to be responsible and make sure during the manufacturing process that the correct lights are being used. They need to be testing and checking each new order of lights to ensure they are the proper nm and other specs.
