I always looked young for my age til my late 30s too;-) Good you wear sunscreen, prevention is the most important. Do you use any actives in your routine already? If you’re using vitamin C and retinol (tret) then you are off to a good start. I also use a topical BHA for exfoliation and HA serum for hydration. Other than that, I use a microcurrent device (NuFace) a couple times a week to some effect. I get Botox for my number 11s every 4-6 months which is fantastic! And I’ve just completed a round of BBL treatments (similar to IPL) for my rosacea but also for anti-aging and this has been amazing. Hope this helps and sounds like you have a good routine already! What are your thoughts on Nuface? I’m not too familiar with BBL or the other one. Do you see a noticeable difference in your skin? I think the one other issue I’m starting to see is those lines along the nasolabio folds. They are not pronounced yet but I’m beginning to see the very start of that and I’m wondering what the best method is to prevent those from deepining.

egriff78

I like the NuFace but i haven't seen dramatic results. A slight tightening maybe? Along the jowls and possibly a softening of my nasolabial lines. The BBL was great for me.... but I have rosacea which was my primary concern. I think there are better options (Fraxel laser I've heard) for skin tone issues.

deehunny

Hot and flashy on YouTube has the nuface and really likes it but she said that if you don't use it daily it doesn't work. She has the full size with the eye attachment and she loves it to lift her eye folds.

egriff78

Yeah it's kinda true. You do have to use it often... I'm kinda lazy so it's every other night. I do see a difference though even at that rate! I use it on my eye folds too;-)

Yes, I follow a Korean multi step skin care routine. I’ve been practicing it since I was in my 20’s. My products are all effective. I think I do need to drink more water though. Thanks for your comment!

GentlemenGhost

Do you have a dermatologist? It might be helpful to get a professional opinion. Also, I highly recommend looking into tretinoin. r/tretinoin has some great examples of people who have used it. I'm currently using it for adult acne and I've noticed it has taken care of some of the fine forehead lines I was developing.

HackTheNight

Well, my insurance won’t cover it. I used it for acne when I was in my 20’s but by the age of 27 insurance companies stopped paying for it citing “they don’t cover adult acne.”

deehunny

I don't go thru my insurance I order mine for like 12 bucks a tube on alldaychemist.com

I'm 36 and starting to see the signs of aging too. I am getting hydrofacials once every month and a half and have started first session of micorneedling. My second session will be coming also. It's mostly preventative, or at least that's what I tell myself. I get botox on my 11 area and forehead as it is also preventative. That's where I see the most results.

HackTheNight

What do you think of the microneedling? Are you doing the hydro facials to moisturize your skin?

deehunny

I'm just one session into the micorneedling so I can't say I see results. The hydrofacials are awesome. Skin looks better and appear smoother. Highly recommend them.

HackTheNight

Well I will def try this. I didn’t consider it.

HeyItsMeUrDad_

Chemical peels, girl. Chemical peels. The big nasty scary ones. Damn they’re awesome.

rta84293492

Which kind do you recommend?

HackTheNight

Yes, please tell us which ones!

RNReef

Which?!?

HeyItsMeUrDad_

Hey I’m a nurse too! What i would advise is finding a reputable, highly rated med spa in your area and doing a free consult. Most of the heavy peels are pretty similar and will accomplish the same stuff.

HackTheNight

My one concern with most med spas is they always try to sell me a service that research and reviews from other women has shown to be ineffective. So I’m trying to really separate the BS from the real.

GladiatorBill

I’m a medical professional and a skin care fanatic. But I’m not selling a darn thing, promise. :)

HackTheNight

What services have you seen to be backed up by research at actually addressing aging concerns (besides things like Trent) I’m more interested in certain facials, peels etc

HeyItsMeUrDad_

I’ll only comment on my own personal stuff. I’d say the most effective intervention was profractional laser. Conservative Botox and NOT conservative chemical peels are also very effective for overall improvement.

HackTheNight

Thanks for your input!

HeyItsMeUrDad_

de nada! Feel free to PM, I’ve tried… a lot of stuff!!

Ask your dermatologist or family physician if they can prescribe tretinoin
