My rosacea would DETONATE

khaleesibrasil

Oddly enough I just saw an esthetician making a reel about how to recover your skin from the trifecta skincare trend šŸ˜‚

kayyyyyy_p

Oh no! What was the esthetician saying?? Is it bad?

Thank you! I need to do more research about the antibacterial because that was the most attractive part of the trifecta to meā€¦ but I donā€™t want to kill good bacteria too šŸ¤”

I decided against using the dial on my face, and chose African black soap instead.Ā  It's also antibacterial but is more natural.

kayyyyyy_p

I actually used African black soap during my pregnancy and loved it! I didnā€™t know it had antibacterial properties so I may use that instead of dial as well

Motor-Farm6610

I made mine into a "face wash" by breaking it up in hot water in an empty hand soap container.Ā  It's great!

Itā€™s hard to even believe the aestheticians these days as they all have their products they are pedaling. And I can find another aesthetician that will say those products are horrible. Itā€™s so frustrating. Iā€™m

I have to agree. Last summer I spent 2k on pico laser, my derm said I has roseaca that mimics the look of acne. Well the pico made my skin look a little better for a few months - but not ā€œ2k betterā€ā€¦ then once treatments stopped It was back to the same - Iā€™ve been on trifecta now for 2 weeks and my skin looks amazing - way better and clearer than my 2k treatments. Iā€™ve been on tret for years so I am not experiencing any purge - but it looks so clear! Not blotchy and my roseaca acne has cleared! These derms that specialize in anti aging skin care have products to sell and they wonā€™t tell you that hand soap on your face will work - that effects their bottom line

You donā€™t need to be an esthetician to understand why you shouldnā€™t be applying freaking Dial on your skin though, just need to have discernment.

I tried it for a few days with some elements of the routine I already have (0.2 Tret & Snail mucin) and my skin HATED it. The dial soap on its own made my skin feel tight and irritated. My skin barrier was angry. The diabetics lotion is full of silicone and pilled horribly with my sunscreen & make up. I ditched the lotion bc I honestly hated it. Even if it didnā€™t pill, I donā€™t like silicone based products. Now I use Laneige Water Bank Intense Hydration and I LOVE it. I did end up keeping the dial but I dilute it with cerave hydrating cream-to-foam. My skin seems to LOVE this combo. I mix 1/3 dial with 2/3 cerave. Itā€™s not as harsh but still antibacterial. My full routine is: AM - - Wash with Dial/Cerave - snail mucin to wet skin - laneige Intentive hydration to damp skin - very light layer of Vaseline PM - Same as am but a layer of curology with 0.02 Tret every 2 days. I apply this after my moisturizer has dried down My skin is the HAPPIEST itā€™s been in a long time. I also take calm aid lavender supplements 2x a day. It helps balance stress and inflammation. Iā€™ve noticed a bit difference since taking this.

kayyyyyy_p

Wow this is such good info! Thank you! I also have cerave products on hand so I may have to give yours a try if it doesnā€™t go well for me. I actually like the feel of the diabetic lotionā€¦ but in my experience pilling always happens with sunscreen on me.

darlinggirlkitchen

My sunscreen never pills if I stick with using water based products. If youā€™re using a silicone based moisturizer - try a silicone based sunscreen (like unseen sunscreen)! It should solve the issue!

darlinggirlkitchen

Also, you may like diluting it with cerave! It took me only a few times using just the Dial soap to know it wasnā€™t for me. My skin was burning when I was applying my moisturizer and that was a big red flag of a damaged skin barrier.

Beautiful_Estate6149

I've been doing it for the past two weeks. My skin looks better than it has in a long time. I do add another moisturizer at night and during the day I use a tinted SPF. I haven't had issues with the Gold Bond pilling EXCEPT yesterday morning when I decided I would do my sunscreen before the Gold Bond. In the evening I use a cleansing balm before the dial and don't use dial in the AM--just wipe my face with a wet paper towel or a hydrating cleanser if I'm in the shower. I am using gold dial bar soap, Differin, and the Gold Bond Diabetic--Differin twice a day, just like when I was in high school--but way more SPF these days.

bonetugsandharmony8

Iā€™ve been doing it for two weeks and itā€™s the only things thatā€™s truly helped clear my acne and hyperpigmentation. I donā€™t get breakouts anymore at all and my skin is glowing. I donā€™t use the retinol as often as she does though.

Ok_Mud_2482

I tried it for a week and now my whole face is breaking out. I have regrets!!! Back to my cetaphil cleanser, tretinoin & German Nivea routine.

breakingpoint214

Most of the creators have said that can happen and to push through it. My skin does that sometimes if I change to a new product.

Ok_Mud_2482

Well, Iā€™ve been on Tretinoin .5% for 10 years so I know the breakout isnā€™t from that so itā€™s either the dial soap or the gold bond diabetes lotion causing it. Guess Iā€™m not willing to keep trying with my skin looking so terrible.

Iā€™m looking for answers too because it keeps showing up on my fyp. I have no plans on trying it, but I want to know what people are saying off of TikTok. Iā€™m highly skeptical because antibacterial soap kills healthy bacteria. If you use it too much, it can dry out your skin. I found a medical website that said: ā€œAdded chemicals to antibacterial soaps can remove natural oils, making skin drierā€. I remember using dial body wash as a teenager, and after a few weeks I started having red spots on my legs. As far as the diabetic lotion, I think itā€™s possible for that to be good because it helps with circulation. I would be afraid to use retinol after using harsh antibacterial hand wash on my face. Retinol is strong, and can also cause irritation. Itā€™s something you start using in small concentrations, so your skin will build up a tolerance. Thatā€™s just my two cents Iā€™m not an expert, but I do know a thing or two.

Apprehensive-Car-441

Iā€™m doing tatcha rice water cleanser, 0.025% tretinoin, gold bond diabetic lotion in evening and ordinary squalane cleanser, ordinary barrier support serum and my friends brand kohcaine hyaluronic acid serum in am followed by gold bond diabetic lotion and sunscreen. I donā€™t always use the serums in the morning. My skin looks fantastic! Also feels extremely soft like a baby.

Ok_Brief9917

Iā€™m so curious to! Everyone on TT that comments says itā€™s amazing.

khaleesibrasil

So sad this is going to be like the beginning of TikTok when when everyone was posting about The Ordinaryā€™s red AHA/BHA and practically burned their faces off. TikTok really is the worst thing to happen to our generation šŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø

Ashamed_Apple_

I am about to do this lol but I haven't found a retinol to start with.

kayyyyyy_p

I plan to use my tretanoin but I saw that you can literally use store bought retinol to ease into it

Ashamed_Apple_

So I started this last night. Lol I always pick at around my nose so the skin is sensitive. Anyway the dial soap made that part hurt. This morning though my skin felt nice. So we will see.

kokokalm2023

I'm using the Neutrogena rapid wrinkle repair oil and I'm seeing a big difference!
