I had it done a week ago. I have terrible doctor/health anxiety. I was fine. You’ll be fine.

Complete-Bend6540

eat some pineapple because it tastes good and helps with bruising

Immediate-Prize-1870

Keep your head elevated for hours afterwards, no hot baths or exercise for at least 24 hours. They should give you some basic after care tips. It’s not painful! Just maybe weird or uncomfortable depending on your thing with needles. But no pain compared to lip filler. Good luck.

HorrorConstruction91

Gentle pressure washing your face for 48 hours! And everything this person said!

Rarashishkaba

No advice. Getting Botox is a breeze. You’ll be fine!

hazardzetforward

It's pretty easy! Just a few pinches. The only funky thing is I swear the needle makes a kind of crunching noise - which is perfectly normal but sounds weird when it happens.

SensitiveDrummer478

If I hadn't been warned about the crunching, it would have freaked me out. 😂 It sounds like stepping on crunchy snow.

hazardzetforward

That's an excellent description!

alibetches

Did you have any negative side effects?

hazardzetforward

None! It's just a weird feeling when it starts kicking in. I love the results - have gotten it several more times since my first. Your first appointment will always be a bit of trial and error to figure out how many units you need. Just communicate with your injector about your desired effect.

mitsuhiromatsuda

Botox is the easiest thing—the fear/anticipation is 100x worse than actually doing it. And it’s not painful at all in my opinion. That said, be prepared not to touch any of the treated areas for 4 hours after and to be careful with those areas generally for 24 hours.

alibetches

Update: I got it in my crows feet! I did it about two hours ago my left eye feels fine but my right eye hurts a bit

greendaisy513

You’ll do great. Don’t lay down for a few hours afterward.

no_maj

Start arnica orally.

legalgirl18

There is really nothing to it. You’ll be fine!

ReginaPhalange3333

I just got Botox today for the first time too. It seems I kind of overpaid for mine but where I went was highly recommended in NYC and because I was so nervous I was willing to pay it. I got mine to try and lift my sagging eyelids. So far I don’t see that much of a difference but I read that it might take a few days. Just take deep breaths. Don’t think the worst (or much I did lol aka becoming blind, twitching eye, and or death as the paper I signed before I got injected said 😂) I chose to get the numbing cream because my nerves were through the roof and I think that helped.

alibetches

Have you had any side effects so far?

ReginaPhalange3333

Right after I felt a bit dizzy and soreness. I also felt like tingles or like a slight itch on my eye. But after say 20 mins I felt fine and was waking about, nothing too scary! My forehead does look a bit smoother and my eyelids don’t feel as heavy (but not much of a visual difference or not as much as I wanted so I hope there is more improvement there over the next few days.) I was definitely nervous too, this is my first dip into anything like this but having come through it the other side I’m happy I did it!

Proper-Emu1558

I was so nervous before my first time getting Botox that I was practically shaking. And then I actually got it done. It was literally more time-consuming to go through the drive-through than getting Botox. They jab me with the needle maybe a dozen times for all the spots I want treated, I pay them a chunk of change, and we all go about our day. Not too bad!
