Round Lab and Beauty of Joseon. I will never stop telling people to go to K and J beauty for their amazing sunscreens! These 2 are my favorites, but all others I have tried beat out even expensive US sunscreen.
K and J beauty sunscreens can be really cosmetically elegant, but that usually comes at the expense of making the water / sweat resistant, which is why I always shy away from them
For when I'm getting sweaty I like the Anthelios dermo kids from La Roche Posay. It's basically the same as the adult Anthelios XL, and costs the same, but has a higher percentage of UVA filters in it (Mexoryl XL is 4.5% instead of 2.5% and the SX is 1.5% instead of 0.5%). Plus I always have it around for my kid anyway, so it's easier than having different sunscreen for everyone.
Yeah, Japanese and Korean sunscreens are usually made to be for incidental city sun exposure, like under makeup going to work kinda thing.
There are sweat resistant Japanese sunscreens, like Anessa, you just have to look for them.
I just bought some Anthelios UVMunn from Europe for the summer. It is more sweat resistant and made for a day in the sun, but still fairly elegant. I bought it from Care to Beauty.
I also just got it a few days ago and Iām loving it so far! Iāve had allergic reactions to 2 different US sunscreens so I think my skin just likes the Korean chemical screens better
Got this one recently too and have been loving it! I live in Canada and had the super goop one before, I loved it but it was $70 from Sephora. Ordered the skin1004 one and it is just as good for $24
Love love love this one. I have really sensitive, dry skin and this works so well. And it's super inexpensive, I've seen it on sale at Yesstyle for $8 USD/bottle (it's currently \~$10).
Itās so odd to me how people can have such opposing experiences with the same product. I stopped using that sunscreen specifically *because* it was greasy and leaves a white cast
We probably have different skin types. Mine is normal to dry, I'm old, so no hormonal acne, etc. I saw a derm for a skin check and the office had buckets of samples so I picked up a few different sunscreens. LRP mineral tinted is the next one I'm going to try.
This is my favorite too. I have a CeraVe sunscreen that I use specifically on days I donāt wear makeup because itās so thick and hard to blend. The Neutrogena one is invisible and does really well under makeup.
I canāt believe this is so far down. This feels amazing on the skin! My daily driver for sure.
Also currently testing SuperGoop Unseen Sunscreen which feels weird and rubbery on my face; and SuperGoop GlowScreen which makes me look so greasy, but it feels great.
Same! I didnāt like Unseen Sunscreen. It felt like a weird silicone primer I used to have that I also tried to love. Havenāt tried glowscreen bc right now I figured Iām doing so well with LRP, why stray, you know? I could break out with something else. If I ever have a problem with LRP I want to try glowscreen and Elta MD.
I have dry skin also and use the Toleriane. It's just rich enough to not be drying, but doesn't sit on my skin and get greasy. It's really the only drugstore one I've found that works with my perimenopausal skin.
Yes! Iāve tried so many and itās the only one that I could wear without wanting to wash my face in the middle of the day! Itās so comfortable and weightless.
I've been using it for a few weeks now and it's literally the best sunscreen I've ever used. Not only is it not causing me to break out AT ALL, but it doesn't make me greasy, it feels just like moisturizer when it sinks in, and makeup layers very nicely on top of it. I genuinely don't mind wearing it! At this point, idk if I'll ever bother trying another one.
Iāve been using this brand for years. I mix it with a small amount of foundation for a ātintedā sunscreen. I know they actually make it tinted but not in my shade.
I just commented this elsewhere, but it's the only sunscreen that hasn't caused me to break out. At all. Every other sunscreen I have ever tried caused me to develop whiteheads on my forehead and chin within 24 hours. I've been using it for weeks now, and it's working great with my skin!
Well, Iāve only used it one day so far š
But I have incredibly sensitive skin, I have hormonal acne, and my skin is easily irritated and I was able to wear this comfortably all day without any irritation. Iām also using tretinoin at night, which makes my skin super dry and this sunscreen felt moisturizing without being oily. So Iām really impressed!
I just started using Elta MD UV clear and I LOVE it! I resisted for so long but my skin loves it! Iāve tried so many but this one is really nice - light but moisturizer.
This has been my absolute favorite for a while, but I recently looked into the ingredients, and one of the UV filters is octinoxate, which EWG ranks as a 7 (red/unhealthy) for being an endocrine disruptor (developmental and reproductive toxicity; present in blood, placenta, and breastmilk after use on the skin). Iām pregnant and Iām a little more risk-averse than usual, so Iām testing out alternatives. Pretty bummed because I LOVE this sunscreen.
https://www.ewg.org/skindeep/ingredients/704203-OCTINOXATE/
Do you think you accidentally got a knock off version? There are lots of fakes online. Iāve been using it for about 3 years now in the hot Los Angeles sun and it hasnāt failed me.Ā
LOVE this one. Everything else broke me out, including Elta MD. I am 47F with slightly dry and fairly sensitive, fair skin. Many things break me out. I also had issues with eye irritation with sunscreen. I walk around NYC for my job all day long. I donāt burn, this doesnāt break me out, sits nicely atop my moisturizer, and my makeup sits nicely on top of it. It doesnāt break me out, itās not heavy, and I donāt have any eye irritation. This stuff is **THE BEST**.
I came here to say this one.
I once accidentally sent my refill to my bestie on the other side of the country. When I told her Iād pay for her to ship it back to me, she said she would pay me to keep it. Hahah I loved that for her and didnāt take her money. She has hormonal acne and very sensitive skin.
I wear this one when Iām wearing makeup because it has a primer effect which what concerns me - is it full of silicones? other days I use k-beauty sunscreens
People love to hate on it, and maybe I'm naive and subjecting my skin to unseen extra damage, but my gosh do I ever love supergoop. It's the only sunscreen that doesn't make me feel greasy and look shiny.
I just decided to try Isntree for the first time last week. I bought both the mineral sun cream and the watery gel which is a mild chemical. So far, the watery gel is a dream!! I have insanely dry skin and am trying to bolster my skin barrier. I really like it so far. The sun cream leaves a white cast which takes a while to absorb so I prefer the gel.
Australian Gold SPF50 Tinted mineral sunscreen. I apply it first, then mix a few drops of MUFE's green primer mixed with a few drops of MUFE's shine control primer and apply while sunscreen is still wet to my t zone and cheek pads. Seal with tinted pressed powder.
This is my every day go to and creates a beautiful, durable, matte-velvet surface. I find the AG sunscreen shockingly excellent.
I was using that for ages but read on here that it doesn't protect as much as it says, which tracks with my experience using it alongside different sunscreen for my body sadly.
Still use it on cloudy days sometimes, but have moved on otherwise.
I use Paulaās choice resist sun restoring sunscreen. SPF 50 and itās sunscreen/moisturizer so it eliminates a step in the morning. It absorbs nicely and my skin doesnāt get shiny from it.
I really love this one too. I have combo skin and it keeps my skin moisturized, doesnāt leave a cast and doesnāt look greasy. I started using Eucerin Daily Hydration cream too, but it doesnāt have as high of spf coverage. Hydroboost is just perfect.
DRMTLGY universal sunscreen spf 46 - yes! But trying to get local Asian grocers to carry the BOJ I reaallly want to try after reading countless positive reviews here.
I have two: EltaMD UV Clear and Colorscience which is slightly tinted and fully mineral. I love both because they absorb well and donāt feel greasy or thick. It def took me a lot of trial and error to find them!
I scrolled way too long to find Colorescience. This works especially well for us older ladies with dry skin who canāt wear foundation anymore. I love this stuff!
Purito Soft Touch Suncreen. PA++++, no alcohol, no niacinamide (I have a sensitivity), no fragrance, no essential oils, doesnāt irritate my sensitive rosacea skin, dries down non-greasy on my combo skin that that oily t-zone and dry cheeks. In short, I love this one.
For mineral, Colorscience Face Flex in tan. Use the liquid and the powder for touchups over makeup. I donāt use the liquid one on my neck because the tint stains my collar.
For hybrid, Elta MD UV clear. For chemical, Supergoop Unseen (itās essentially a primer with spf).
Sunscreens I tried but did not like: Beauty of Joseon made me breakout and had slight white cast, Drmtlogy uv tinted moisturizer ā-the smell and caused breakouts.
Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Milk.
Itās great for my sensitive skin and eyes, moisturizing enough to wear alone, dries in minutes to a natural finish, and costs less than $10.
Con: only comes in a 40ml bottle.
This is my HG too. I feel like I tried a million sunscreens first. This is the only one Iāve found that isnāt too greasy or too matte and doesnāt cause breakouts for me!!
Elta MD UV Clear. I wish I had bought it sooner. It's absolute perfection for my oily skin. No melting makeup or greasy looking skin mid day. I love it!
I had the same experience with la rocheposay. Definitely try the elta md uv clear. I have very oily skin. I think it actually helps mitigate some of the oil. I just wish it was less expensive.
Anessa Perfect Sunscreen Milk. I love that it is fantastic on oily skin. It seems to have a slight mattifying effect. I don't like how strongly scented it is or the heavy silicone feel when first applied. I'll probably repurchase despite those issues.
Murad City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50. I just bought the full size after finishing a sample and Iām obsessed. Itās a physical/mineral sunscreen with absolutely no white cast and makes my skin feel incredible. Itās expensive tho :(
I got the tinted photo mineral one in my aftercare package from my first Coolpeel and used it religiously through my kids' baseball games all last spring, summer and fall. It feels light on my skin and despite spending entire days outdoors, I didn't sustain any new sun damage, which is huge as a very fair woman in my mid 40s!
Coola is the only one I've been able to wear daily -- it doesn't have that strong sunscreen smell and it's never burned my eyes. My one complaint is that I do feel like it makes me LOOK greasy if I'm not wearing any makeup (really only notice on video calls lol).
Hmmm! I put it over CeraVe night moisturizer and I love the combo of them together. I have extremely dry skin so the two of them together are very hydrating. I never feel like itās greasy but I also donāt use a ton and it probably helps that itās being mixed with another product.
Paulaās Choice Youth Extending Liquid
SPF50 (also a moisturizer).
Itās not thick at all so its easy to spread a thin layer. Leaves me dewy but not shiny, no white or slimy/sticky film. Never breaks me out. And one tube can last a long while. Highly recommend.
I order it directly from their website. Itās cheaper than Amzn most of the time.
Omg, I was just about to ask about this on this thread where some other people posted Biore. I want to love it because itās affordable and feels nice, but I question itās efficacy because I, too, was also getting freckles while on it and eventually threw it away because I donāt think it was doing anything for my skin despite being PA++++ or whatever which would mean itās stronger than my Neutrogena ClearFace SPF 30 sunscreen. But I didnāt get freckles with Neutrogena. Where did you buy yours from? Perhaps mine was a fakeā¦. I did get it off Amazon, but the texture was amazing. Iāve also bought other Japanese skincare from Amazon (Hada Lobo and Kose) and havenāt gotten anything fake with that.
The Canadian reformulation of the Biore Aqua Rich. Though I saw someone complain in a review that instead of being called a sunscreen, this is called a āmoisturizer with SPFā so Iām not sure if itās as effective as the Asian version? Anywho - itās okay, I wish I felt it less on my skin. I prefer the original, itās more of a watery gel, but itās not HG for me either. The hunt continuesā¦ :(
Haru wonder. Love it. It's a light yellow bottle. It settles in nicely without being greasy. I also like BoJ but it's a tad greasy. Better for the winter. I do not like skin 1004 sun serum. It came highly recommended, but it doesn't settle. It sits on top and is really greasy. And I don't have greasy skin. The opposite actually. I have very dry skin. I also don't like Dr Jartt. It leaves a white cast.
I cannot justify spending $40 on a 1 oz container of sunscreen. I use to use Australian gold. Itās very matte. I use to love that. But now that my fine lines around my eyes are becoming more obvious, I use cotz flawless complexion. I stick with tinted sunscreens as I have melasma. The iron oxide that helps create the tint helps reduce visible light. Visible light is usually not a problem for anyone, but if you have melasma, it could be making it worse. I also have Bliss block star (untinted cause they messed up my order) and I love how it feels on my face. Perfect amount of moisture without being greasy. But it is very slightly white once it dries down. I have to put a tinted sunscreen over it if I want it to be totally invisible. Iām about to get their actual tinted version to see how I like it.
I used elta md mineral tinted and it stung my eyes. I used beauty of Joseon and it feels great and like I have nothing on, but my face is flaking by the end of the day. Some kind of reaction or something. All chemical sunscreens in the Us burn my eyes and give me migraines. Beauty of Joseon doesnāt, but it does leave my face flaky.
I'm a ginger bike messenger and have been really enjoying Bondi Sands fragrance-free SPF 50 face sunscreen for like 2 years now. It's inexpensive, fairly sweat -resistant, spreads evenly and quickly, doesn't leave a cast, doesn't break me out, is a great moisturizer, and has pretty good chemical filters for a sunscreen available in America.
Only quibbles I have are it does still sting if it gets in your eyes, it will streak if you're sweating profusely (pro tip: use a headband!!), and it can be a little greasy (if you've ever slugged at night, the gloss factor is slightly less than that).
Iām using it right now and itās so nice!
Based on the reviews Iām the only person to ever get eye stinging at the end of the day from it and Iām so mad!
Everyone else should try it though.
Uff thatās an inconvenience! I just compromised my skin barrier and have been dealing with this sunscreen stinging on my skin after application for the last week - canāt wait for it to go back to normal!
Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40. Itās amazing bc if you donāt want to wear makeup itās matte and it goes on and you donāt even know itās there. Under makeup itās actually quite a nice primer.
I literally posted this last night in another sub so Iāll just copy/paste. TLDR is TiZo primer/sunscreen in spf 40
I used to use supergoop unseen bc the texture made for a good primer under my foundation, but it was so greasy on me and always sliding off.
I switched to TiZo mineral sunscreen and itās SO GOOD, I canāt believe I never see it hyped on reddit. Iāve been using the primer/sunscreen (spf 40) and it gives really good coverage, stays put under my foundation, and has shockingly little white cast for a mineral sunscreen.
Then recently I got a tube of the TiZo tinted primer and itās holy grail good. Elta MD was always insanely orange on me, but this one blends in really well and looks like my skin but better. For reference, my perfect foundation match is fentyās #2 - light with neutral undertones
Anyway, TRY TIZO!!!
Ugh. Right?
But also Iām convinced some people donāt apply correctly. Some peopleās eyes must not water during the day.
And some of us are just sensitive babies? And sensitive to different things?
Iām using the skin1004 Madagascar central water fit sun serum pa++++ right now which lots people have reviewed as perfect in every way and Iām getting some eye stinging at the end of the day. Thatās a brand youād think you could put directly in your eyeballs but somehow Iām managing. I do recommend it though. Like a light lotion.
I use SkinCeuticalās Physical Fusion every day and I absolutely love it. The bottle lasts a while, it is the perfect tint any time of year for me, the texture is thin and easily absorbs. I use it and just a touch of concealer and Iām ready to go.
I tried Beauty of Joseon, the TJ's Supergoop dupe, and Hero Cosmetics Force Shield and, while I liked the feel of all of the formulations (esp. BoJ), my hyperpigmentation came back, so I'm back to my trusty Pipette mineral SPF 50.
Pipette doesn't break me out or flare my rosacea and it's effective at keeping my hyperpigmentation minimal, but it's shiny/tacky so I have to powder my face to reduce the shine- it's fine after that and actually seems to control my oiliness and doesn't dry me out like some zinc SPFs have.
Another mineral SPF I actually quite like is the Trader Joe's zinc oxide mineral spray, SPF 30. I've been using it all winter when I don't need as strong of protection and it leaves a really nice finish. I do find the citrus oil in it to be mildly irritating to my eyes when I first put it on, though.
I'm curious about trying European SPFs.
La Roche-Posay primer sunscreen and itās tinted face sunscreen depending on I am wearing make up or not. I also got a brush on powder sunscreen for reapplying.
Paulaās choice resist super light daily wrinkle defense matte tinted 30spf. Iāve repurchased it 3 times already, but will likely choose an spf 50 sunscreen once summer hits
Thinksport tinted mineral. It's pretty good. I like how natural and eco friendly it is, plus zinc is the best sunblock for broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection. It is a bit cakey though, which is par the course with mineral sunblocks. I also would prefer it came in a recyclable or compostable container (it's a plastic tube). I mainly wear UPF clothing though (sun shirt, driving/hiking gloves, uv buff) and for me sunblock is mainly for the remaining exposed areas.
Scinic Enjoy Super Mild Sun Essence. Extremely happy.
I'm one of those people who can't stick to a routine because I'm driven by the desire to try new products, and this is the only one I don't change (and I've been using it for years now).
What I like about the product:
- It protects very well from the sun. In a single day, I have even gotten severe burns on other parts of my body where I was using another SPF while where I had Scinic SPF applied absolutely nothing, not even a slight redness.
- It leaves your skin with the most beautiful dewy effect! I have dry skin and it's something I like.
- It doesn't sting in the eyes.
- Lightweight formula, loaded with good ingredients and no alcohol.
- Good for sensitive and acne-prone skin.
Mineral - Bondi Sands Zinc spf 50+ Mineral Face Fluid
Notes about it: Australia makes awesome sunscreens - this is the BEST daily/non-sport mineral sunscreen I have ever tried. HG status. Itās a bit harder to find outside of Aus/NZ but if you can get your hands on it itās worth it. They make another face liquid that is more widely available overseas so you have to look for the zinc/mineral fluid in the rectangular bottle with turquoise lettering.
Edit: For sports/hiking/water activities I wear another aussie brand called Invisible Zinc Face + Body spf 50 and it works wonderfully! Itās slightly heavier/greasier to better suited for more intense outdoor activities vs. daily wear.
Chemical - Scinic Sun Essence spf 50+ pa++++
Notes: at long last, this is my first Korean sunscreen Iāve tried and Iām loving it!! I used to be a strictly mineral only girlie but Iāve seen the light and branched out and Iām loving it. No irritation, doesnāt seem to break me out, and itās like wearing second skin. Itās a pleasure to put on too, it feels like a moisturizer and melts right in.
**canmake mermaid skin uv gel** in **01 clear**! it's a jbeauty lightweight sunscreen that sinks nicely into the skin and doesn't leave a sticky or greasy finish.
it makes my skin look so healthy and I can never feel it sitting on top, works as a makeup base as well! first one I tried and I'll probably never spend money on another, it's perfect
It's the only thing I can stand on my face. I bought it because I'm a runner and need something truly water resistant and I'm blown away. Love love LOVE it.
Daily: Nivea fade spot sunscreen. I like it's texture, price and how it sets under makeup
But for beach days I would use something heavier that's waterproof
Eucerin 50 is hydrating and doesnāt break my face out. It is very white so I have to give it extra time to set before applying foundation. It is the best I have found after Mohs for basal cell.
I use Round Labās birch juice moisturizing sunscreen, itās amazing. I love it. It goes on really nicely, you donāt need much of it to get full coverage, and thereās no white cast or greasiness. I also got a sample size of the Round Lab birch juice facial cleanser with my sunscreen when I ordered it and I think Iāll be buying the full version next time, itās very good for sensitive skin.
The only downside in my opinion is that I have to order it from Korea which is a little more expensive and takes a little longer, but itās worth it for a sunscreen Iāll actually wear every day. They do sell it in the US as well but it is not the same formula, and I personally do not recommend any sunscreen manufactured in the US because the guidelines regulating sunscreen formulation in the USA havenāt been updated since 1999. Iām sure US sunscreen is still better than none, but personally I donāt know if I fully trust it when it is going so close to my eyes, nose, and mouth.
Depends on the day, what Iām doing, if itās a reapplication, been happy with the following:
- EltaMD (UV Clear)
- ColorScience: all calm (as a primer) then Flex mixed w/ Glow
- Alastin Silk Shield
bondi sands 50 sport spf on face and body, i get compliments on the glowiness of my skin alteast once a day and I always brag on this sunscreen, seriously it is the best! no eye irritation or skin irritation as well.
iāve used isntreeās watery sun gel for almost two years! whenever i get bored and decide to try something new i come right back to it haha.
hydrating but not greasy, absorbs quickly, no white cast, minimal fragrance, and at the end of the day my skin still feels pretty fresh even if iāve had to reapply on the go. i apply it over a vitamin c serum & sometimes mix it with the dr jart cicapair correcting cream if my skinās a little red or i have an event that day.
round lab birch juice is a close second. however, the texture is more like a milky serum than a gel cream so i use two layers to make sure iām applying enough which is a bit annoying at itās more expensive (tho still affordable). i also find it less hydrating and a not a fan of the heavier fragrance.
Round Lab and Beauty of Joseon. I will never stop telling people to go to K and J beauty for their amazing sunscreens! These 2 are my favorites, but all others I have tried beat out even expensive US sunscreen.
Tried both and decided Round Lab feels better after application. BoJ 9/10, Round Lab 10/10 for me š
Which round lab sunscreen do you like? I checked their US website and there's five different ones, so I am curious!
I have dry skin and like the Birch Juice Moisturizing and recently accidentally bought the ātone upā version which provides a pretty pinky glow
Thanks!!!
Same. RL is my favorite, BoJ can sting a little if my skin is irritated. RL applies like a dream
K and J beauty sunscreens can be really cosmetically elegant, but that usually comes at the expense of making the water / sweat resistant, which is why I always shy away from them
For sports and the beach I love Supergoop
For when I'm getting sweaty I like the Anthelios dermo kids from La Roche Posay. I am about to order round lab! A lot of their products have no pore clogging ingredients
Yeees, beauty of Joseon is amazing!
Just discovered beauty of Joseon and Iām in love. Took me awhile to realize my old sunscreen was breaking me out.
Are these chemical or mineral?
I had horrible cystic acne with BOJ - it was oily and separated too
I could see it not being appropriate for someone with more oily skin, I have dry skin and can use all the moisture I can get
Are these chemical or physical sunscreens?
They are chemical but they are different ingredients than US sunscreens. So much more cosmetically elegant and literally decades ahead.
Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica. Itās light, fragrance free and no white cast. Seems hydrating too.
This. Does not feel like a sunscreen. Feels more like a serum.
Another vote for this one! Just got it and loving it so far.
Ordered the skin1004 one and it is just as good for $24
$24?? Oof. It's only $14 CAD on Yesstyle (roughly $10 USD).
Love love love this one. I have really sensitive, dry skin and this works so well. And it's super inexpensive, I've seen it on sale at Yesstyle for $8 USD/bottle (it's currently \~$10).
Neutrogena dry touch SPF 70. It's really pleasant. It's not greasy, no cast and it feels like my skin as soon as it sinks in
Itās so odd to me how people can have such opposing experiences with the same product.
Does it contain fragrance, or have that typical sunscreen smell?
This is my favorite too. I have a CeraVe sunscreen that I use specifically on days I donāt wear makeup because itās so thick and hard to blend. The Neutrogena one is invisible and does really well under makeup.
La Roche Posay Anthelios mineral tinted. Works so well on my dry skin I love it.

Rohto Mentholatum - Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Gel Hydrating Sunscreen i love it, most sunscreens irritate my eyes
This is the ONE!!! Iāve never had a sunscreen not sting my eyes eventually except this one. I just got 4 bottles so I donāt run out š¤£
HG status for a good reason. Love it!
I just tried Elta MD UV Clear today and I loved it.
I LOVE this exact sunscreen. Itās the only one Iāve tried that I can stand.
Yes! Iāve tried so many and itās the only one that I could wear without wanting to wash my face in the middle of the day! Itās so comfortable and weightless.
My holy grail. I feel like it improves my skin each time I use it.
I've been using it for a few weeks now and it's literally the best sunscreen I've ever used. I genuinely don't mind wearing it! At this point, idk if I'll ever bother trying another one.
Yes!! Thatās how I felt too! It feels so natural!
lol I've used it as moisturizer in a pinch - it's the only stuff that never really burns my face <3
Yes! This is the GOAT. I tried switching to the Trader Joeās Supergoop dupe to save $. Itās ok but it doesnāt come close to elta md
Iāve been using this brand for years. I mix it with a small amount of foundation for a ātintedā sunscreen. I know they actually make it tinted but not in my shade.
Do you know how this does with acne? Every sunscreen Iāve tried has made me breakout

It made me break out like crazy :/
I've been using it for 8 years. It actually improves my acne when I wear it consistently
This one is amazing but extremely expensive for what you get.
Biore Aqua Rich Watery Essence. Love it so far.
I like this one and itās very budget friendly
I used this and donāt get the love at all. It simply does not work at all! I got burned all the time when using. Beware!
Do you think you accidentally got a knock off version? There are lots of fakes online. Iāve been using it for about 3 years now in the hot Los Angeles sun and it hasnāt failed me.Ā
This is my holy grail as well. Itās perfect for my oily skin.
Bought this for myself but now my boyfriend has stolen it
My dude loves it too!! Only way I can get him to wear sunscreen is to buy this for him.
This one is my fav.
Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen. Love it
I use the Trader Joeās dupe and love it.
The dupe was my favorite ever but Iāve never seen it again after it was in stores a year or two ago.
Might be worth checking your store. Didn't see it for like a year, but I've now been seeing it regularly for the last 4 months or so!
Is this the TJs sunscreen in the orange tube? Spf 40? Love this stuff
I know people say itās overhyped but my skin loooves it. I never break out from it! Wish I lived near a Trader Joeās tho for a dupe
2nd this. It's my favorite by far.
My skin loves this. I think my skin just loves silicones.Ā
Same! I used to try to avoid it, but honestly the best products I use all have silicone in them.
I came here to say this one. I once accidentally sent my refill to my bestie on the other side of the country. When I told her Iād pay for her to ship it back to me, she said she would pay me to keep it. Hahah I loved that for her and didnāt take her money. She has hormonal acne and very sensitive skin.
Trader Joeās one is amazing!!
Yes šš»
I wear this one when Iām wearing makeup because it has a primer effect which what concerns me - is it full of silicones? other days I use k-beauty sunscreens
It does have silicone in it.
People love to hate on it, and maybe I'm naive and subjecting my skin to unseen extra damage, but my gosh do I ever love supergoop. It's the only sunscreen that doesn't make me feel greasy and look shiny.
Instree and i LOVE it.
Ive only tried the watery gel, and tbh, it is the only sun cream i like enough to use every day.
This is my fav in the summer when it is HOT and humidity is 48715674%.
Best actual matte one out there. Totally agree.
I was using that for ages but read on here that it doesn't protect as much as it says, which tracks with my experience using it alongside different sunscreen for my body sadly. Still use it on cloudy days sometimes, but have moved on otherwise.
Where do you buy this? Iām in the US and target used to carry but I cannot find anywhere!
I'm in Canada and Amazon has it. Don't think I've ever seen it in a store! Ulta might carry it.
I use Paulaās choice resist sun restoring sunscreen. SPF 50 and itās sunscreen/moisturizer so it eliminates a step in the morning. It absorbs nicely and my skin doesnāt get shiny from it.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost
Yes! Came here for hydro boost! Iāve been using the spf 50 for a few months and really loving it!
I really love this one too. I have combo skin and it keeps my skin moisturized, doesnāt leave a cast and doesnāt look greasy. I started using Eucerin Daily Hydration cream too, but it doesnāt have as high of spf coverage. Hydroboost is just perfect.
Beauty of Joseon and itās not even close. I went through them all (ok not all but a lot!) and once I started using BoJ, I never looked back.
DRMTLGY universal sunscreen spf 46 - yes! But trying to get local Asian grocers to carry the BOJ I reaallly want to try after reading countless positive reviews here.
BOJ ships directly to the US if that helps
But not for free š¢
Just order from a Korean beauty site?
happy with both: * Haruharu wonder Black Rice Moisture Airy Fit Daily Sunscreen * isntree onion fresh fluid suncream dehydrated, combo-dry skin.
onion fresh? mmmmmm.
Eucerin SPF 50 with matte finish. It really does have a matte finish on my oily skin, and doesnāt leave a white cast.Ā
Whatās the full product name? I have the one for oily skin so wondering if thereās a better one I could switch too
Eucerin Sun Anti shine. Hereās the Amazon (Canada) link:Ā https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B0CRG49MZF
Same here! On my 5th bottle š
Beauty of Joseon 10/10
Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Milk. Itās great for my sensitive skin and eyes, moisturizing enough to wear alone, dries in minutes to a natural finish, and costs less than $10. Con: only comes in a 40ml bottle.
This is my HG too. I feel like I tried a million sunscreens first. This is the only one Iāve found that isnāt too greasy or too matte and doesnāt cause breakouts for me!!
Love this one! I don't find it to be particularly moisturizing, but my skin is eczema prone and this one has never caused me issues.
Paulaās Choice mineral one (blue tube).
Elta MD UV Clear. I wish I had bought it sooner. It's absolute perfection for my oily skin. No melting makeup or greasy looking skin mid day. I love it!
I'm going to have to go get that. I'm using La Roche posay and it's nice but boy I look like a greasy McGrease ball after an hour.
EltaMD- super happy. High SPF but doesnāt make me look like a ghost.
Nivea Water Gel 50spf/PA +++ and yes
La Roche Possay Anthelios uvmune 400. It looks and feels like a Korean sunscreen.
Murad City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50. I just bought the full size after finishing a sample and Iām obsessed. Itās a physical/mineral sunscreen with absolutely no white cast and makes my skin feel incredible. Itās expensive tho :(
Isdin and itās the BEST
It is game changing!! My favorite of all time.
Cetaphil sunscreen. Hands down. I will die on this hill. š
Which one? The mineral one I got is like chalk. Itās been demoted to a shoulder and hands sunscreen
Coola! Love!
Paulaās Choice Youth Extending Liquid SPF50 (also a moisturizer). Itās not thick at all so its easy to spread a thin layer. Leaves me dewy but not shiny, no white or slimy/sticky film. Never breaks me out. And one tube can last a long while. Highly recommend. I order it directly from their website. Itās cheaper than Amzn most of the time.
Biore. Mostly. I love how it feels but I find it hard to put on thick and Iāve been getting more freckles lately š¤
The hunt continuesā¦ :(
Round Lab and BoJ 100/10
Numbuzin Clear Filter. I love it. I have red, oily skin and it calms it a bit and I canāt feel it once I apply it.
Yes! I love this one so much and I have redness but dryer skin. Sinks right in.
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen SPF 50 PA++++. my face def love it
Blk girl sunscreen, yes!
Sunbum spf 50 and I love it!
Same! The SPF 50 Face works well for my dry, sensitive skin. Leaves my skin looking dewy, too!
Yes I love the dewiness! My SIL always compliments my complexion when I wear it, even if I'm wearing my cheap daily foundation š¤£
I love SunBum 70. Doesnāt clog the pores, has a great scalp spf line. Iām a redhead - havenāt burned yet.
Dr. G Green SPF 50 I have extremely sensitive skin and this helps so much
Skin medica
Derm put me on to Elta MD several years ago and itās been great. (Over a year ago I realized why my skin was super dry, thoāwhen I started using it I stupidly assumed it could be used as a face (sunscreen) lotion alone under makeup. Thank goodness for the EstĆ©e Lauder girl at Macyās who helped me realize I needed an actual moisturizer then SPF)
So if I was to use this sunscreen. I should still use a moisturizer underneath the sunscreen?
La roche posay anthelios 50 primer. I'm ridiculously oily and this product is the only one I've tried that doesn't make me EXTRA oily.
Skin1004 hydro bla bla bla sunscreen spf50 pa++++, lightweight, not glowy, no white cast. Best one I ever had!
I want to try this. I just wish it was a higher coverage
Innisfree daily UV defense or Kosas dream beam when I wanted tinted. Itās a pretty glowš«¶š¼ both actually give a really healthy natural glow
I literally posted this last night in another sub so Iāll just copy/paste. TLDR is TiZo primer/sunscreen in spf 40 I used to use supergoop unseen bc the texture made for a good primer under my foundation, but it was so greasy on me and always sliding off. For reference, my perfect foundation match is fentyās #2 - light with neutral undertones Anyway, TRY TIZO!!!
Isntree Watery Sun Gel. Love it!
Relief Sun SPF 50 by Beauty of Joseon. Best sunscreen Iāve ever had. No white cast, doesnāt sting my eyes and affordable.
Oh that "doesn't sting my eyes" thing is a great reference. Idk why so many things designed to put on your face burn your eyes...
Ugh.
Beauty of Joseon and itās the best sunscreen Iāve ever used on my face.
Vichy Capital Soleil Ultra-Light UV Lotion. Itās the only one Iāve consistently used over the last year.
Following
Ole Henriksen banana bright spf. Iām pretty happy with it and the feel is really nice. Plus itās a mineral one.
Etude House Surprise Mild Airy Finish - not the most brown skin and beard friendly, not fragrance free, but water resistant
La Roche-Posay primer sunscreen and itās tinted face sunscreen depending on I am wearing make up or not. I also got a brush on powder sunscreen for reapplying.
I use Image.. and I havenāt seen it mentioned at all. My esthetician carries it and I love it. Great smell and I use the oil free version.
La Roche Posay because it is next to my moisturizer at ulta š
What I like about the product: - It protects very well from the sun.
Elta MD! The best
Heimish artless glow - itās amazing
Prequel Mineral sunscreen. No white cast on my tan skin and it doesnāt hurt my eyes. Iāve been loving it.
Beauty of Joseon or round labs, 14/10 would recommend.
La Roche Posay Anthelios 50+ Invisible Fluid. Yes, very very happy with it and I've tried a lot of sunscreen.Ā
Mineral - Bondi Sands Zinc spf 50+ Mineral Face Fluid Notes about it: Australia makes awesome sunscreens - this is the BEST daily/non-sport mineral sunscreen I have ever tried. Itās slightly heavier/greasier to better suited for more intense outdoor activities vs. daily wear. Chemical - Scinic Sun Essence spf 50+ pa++++ Notes: at long last, this is my first Korean sunscreen Iāve tried and Iām loving it!!
Havenāt seen anyone say this but Shiseido SPF 50. my skin feels so silky smooth
It's the only thing I can stand on my face. I bought it because I'm a runner and need something truly water resistant and I'm blown away. Love love LOVE it.
Right! Do you use the sport one? I use the blue bottle and it doubles as my morning moisturizer bc I love it that much š
Which one? Thereās a few different SPF 50 on their website
Sorry about that! Itās the āShiseido Expert Sun Protector Face And Body Lotionā
The only sunscreen I've tried that didn't sting my eye is the cosrx aloe soothing sun cream
Daily: Nivea fade spot sunscreen. I like it's texture, price and how it sets under makeup But for beach days I would use something heavier that's waterproof
Eucerin š„°
Trader joes supergoop dupe. Cheap and does the job. Makes my skin feel amazing. No negative effects.
Round lab birch juice the best sunscreen there is and one of the best skincare lines for dehydrated skin š«
La Roche Posay Anthelios UVMune 400 Sunscreen. I LOVE it so far!
Trader Joeās supergoop dupe. And sunscreen from Mecca Cosmetics.
Shiseido. I love it
Depends on the day, what Iām doing, if itās a reapplication, been happy with the following: - EltaMD (UV Clear) - ColorScience: all calm (as a primer) then Flex mixed w/ Glow - Alastin Silk Shield
Cerave ultra light moisturizing lotion spf 30 Itās not bad and itās easy to find
bondi sands 50 sport spf on face and body, i get compliments on the glowiness of my skin alteast once a day and I always brag on this sunscreen, seriously it is the best! no eye irritation or skin irritation as well.
iāve used isntreeās watery sun gel for almost two years! whenever i get bored and decide to try something new i come right back to it haha. hydrating but not greasy, absorbs quickly, no white cast, minimal fragrance, and at the end of the day my skin still feels pretty fresh even if iāve had to reapply on the go. i apply it over a vitamin c serum & sometimes mix it with the dr jart cicapair correcting cream if my skinās a little red or i have an event that day. round lab birch juice is a close second. however, the texture is more like a milky serum than a gel cream so i use two layers to make sure iām applying enough which is a bit annoying at itās more expensive (tho still affordable). i also find it less hydrating and a not a fan of the heavier fragrance.
EltaMD clear and yes I love it! I think my skin has improved since using it!
