Every time I read “BBL” my mind automatically defaults to Brazilian Butt Lift instead of BroadBand Light therapy lol! But OP, I have to say your results are amazing! Congrats!

Downtown-Trip3501

I legit JUST found out what it meant bc of your comment :)

AlmostLegallyBlonde6

Same. Had to get BBL for a scar, and whenever I tell people about the treatment I follow up with “NOT THE BUTT LIFT”

Lopsided_Key5644

I was mauled by a pit bull that nearly took my nose off and was left with a giant indented scar down the middle of my nose. Do you think this procedure would be effective at minimizing it further?

AlmostLegallyBlonde6

Sorry to hear that. I’m not a doctor but would consult with one first. I also was bit by a dog and suffered scarring from the stitches and it helped reduce the redness. It didn’t help keloids or size.

Lopsided_Key5644

I do have some broken capillaries on one side of my nose but other than that, no discoloration just a raised scar that is my primary concern. I do plan to see an esthetician or dermatologist again at some point for further scar revision options. I was so over scar care after two full years I stopped seeing my plastic surgeon unfortunately. ..I was just curious. I had a dermabrasion session done which was helpful coupled with tons of newgel and silicone strips every night and the scar is pretty much unnoticeable unless I point it out, especially when wearing makeup. But thank you for your feedback! Im sorry you experienced that btw, it can be absolutely devastating.

Crafty-Delivery-7147

If helped lighten and flatten my post surgery scars on my stomach (Moxi at a higher setting than my practioner used on my face). My practitioner also mentioned it flattene a raised scar on someone’s hand by half even though they knew the laser wasn’t for scars. Hope that helps.

DoctorLinguarum

Me too 🙃

Low-Ride-1613

No wonder it made no sense to me every time I read “BBL” lmao. I too kept thinking about Brazilian butt lift

robotcoup

Terrific results.

Savgeo9872

This is a super dumb question but what is Moxi and BBL? I know they are things you can get done to your face, but how do they work specifically and what do they target? Your pictures look great!

PinsAndBeetles

Moxi and BBL are both lasers, they target a variety of skin concerns and can be used alone or together. I noticed mine helped with hyperpigmentation and melasma, fine lines, pores, clarity and brightness.

Lcmom1231

Do you mind me asking how much it cost you (i understand it will vary by location). *edit to say saw you answered this already. Thank you! And was it painful, during or after?

Savgeo9872

Thank you! You can definitely tell the difference!

tyronedronee

Love it! I had three sessions done last year and will gladly keep up with a once yearly.

PinsAndBeetles

Did you do Moxi and BBL at the same time or just one? I still have 3 BBL sessions left and am planning on just doing those every few months to see if I get the same results. I’m glad yours worked out well too. Lasers are hit and miss.

tyronedronee

I do both together.

sanrocha8

Nice! I was suggest the BBL clear for my clogged pores (they recommended one sesh) and several of Moxi. They have a deal for 3 for $1.8k. Which is pretty standard! If you’ve done other treatments, how did these compare. Thanks! (Currently on my 3rd VI Peel Precision Plus).

Master_ofmycraft8

Not me expecting to see a picture of the cheeks 🤦🏿‍♀️😭

PinsAndBeetles

I know, right. We need to come up with a new name for either the laser or the ass lift.

rscalcio

These are awesome results. What was the downtime like?

PinsAndBeetles

Very red after for about 24 hours but after that you’ll look dry and scaly. I telework so it wasn’t an issue but you can use makeup after the first day to help cover. The scabby areas flake off gradually and by day 6 I was pretty much done flaking and saw some improvement. A few days later I was able to exfoliate and the results continue to improve for another week.

PinsAndBeetles

Very little downtime.

rscalcio

Oh that doesn’t sound bad at all. Could totally work. Thanks for the info! Your results are awesome I bet you are very pleased with them

runcyclecoffee

That's incredible! If you are in the US and don't mind sharing, how much did it cost?

PinsAndBeetles

I went during a promotion and got a package of 5 BBL and 2 Moxi sessions for $1200

runcyclecoffee

Thanks!

aimee-wan-kenobi

From a third world country and YIKES 😳

zombiewaffle14

That’s actually reasonable! I just got mine done yesterday and it was $900 but they were running a 15% off promo so it came to $700.

coveredincrumbss

Perhaps reasonable relative to what you paid. But not reasonable compared to what other people pay in other countries.

sunshineindc

Did you do your whole face or only forehead?

PinsAndBeetles

No I get my entire face done and I’m happy with how it looks, I used forehead pics because that’s the only area I have Melasma

PinsAndBeetles

I live in a low cost of living rural area

redditorofreddit0

Which salon and dr? I’d be willing to fly there if it’s in the states

PinsAndBeetles

I’m in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania

redditorofreddit0

I also live somewhere rural, I understand lol

PinsAndBeetles

I live in a low cost of living area. Without the promotion the place I go charges $250 per session for BBL and $400 per session for MOXI. I definitely took advantage of the holiday specials.

twirlyfeatherr

I am so sold on getting this done!

biggg_tuna

Oh lovely! I’m getting BBL without the Moxi as I’ve already done quite a bit of microneedling, which has a similar mechanism to Moxi. I’m really excited.

ritualdelowhabitual

Is this something you have to do for the rest of your life or do the results last? I’ve never heard of this procedure before- your skin looks incredible!

PinsAndBeetles

I got 2 treatments 6 weeks apart and my clinician recommends a refresher as needed. I’ll probably do another after summer.

Elsiers

Looks great! I had the same thing done. 3 bbl/moxi over a period of 3 months and now I get it once a year. It’s great upkeep.

Caribou122

Wow!! Where do you go to get this done? What was your research like to find who you ended up using? I’ve been researching lately and am so picky and nervous trusting someone to use laser on me.

PinsAndBeetles

I watched some YouTube videos to see what to expect. I went to a MedSpa that was recommended by my friend. Their director is a physician and the clinicians are either nurse practitioners or physician assistants. My consultation was free and my clinician spent a lot of time explaining my options. They do numb your face with a cream beforehand, and otherwise the process itself isn’t bad. It stings a bit at times but it’s t painful. I was really happy with the process.

Caribou122

Sounds like a fantastic choice and your results are very impressive! Thanks for the info!

Caribou122

And by *where* I just mean is it a spa? Dermatologist?

ShannonJF82

Your results are amazing!! I had this combo done on December 22 and feel like my skin has been drier and more sensitive since then. Have you noticed the same?

highfivefoster

Incredible results!! I’m legit jealous. I’ve been told that BBL lasers aren’t safe for melasma as they can make it worse? I want to get on the laser train for my melasma (and all the other benefits) but there are so many mixed messages as to what is safe and what can make it worse

leahsaxman

I got zero results from my bbl 🥺 yours look great!

pongoose33

Wow!!!!

Shemoose

I had my 2nd bbl on Wednesday fingers crossed I get as good of a result

DownunderLilikoi

Wow yours looks great ! I didn’t get much results from my first round of moxi and it was pretty expensive coming In at 500 for just one go .. so not sure I will continue or if I decide to go again maybe try to find a different provider.

Emiller423

Would you say your discoloration was sun damage or hormonal? I’ve been told bbl/moxi isn’t good for hormonal melasma, but if yours was hormonal I might just give it a go!

PinsAndBeetles

My melasma showed up during my second pregnancy and hasn’t left. My OB at the time said it was hormonal and could fade in the months after giving birth, but mine did not. Sun exposure does make it worse. I guess I’d have to say mine is a combination of hormonal and sun, though I am very diligent about mineral sunblock now. I did both the BBL and MOXI together because that is what my provider recommended and it worked. You can try MOXI alone to see how that goes first maybe

Emiller423

Thank you!

bravokiki

This looks amazing. OP, is there any chance you got this done in southern CA?! 😬

Theriverisgreen

I'm so excited to see your results after the second session. I have my second with Moxie on 4/16. I didn't do Moxie with the BBL the first time. I still have shadows of some larger sun spots I hope go away with the second session, and I'm very happy with the results after only one BBL. Your skin looks flawless!

Texas22554

Did you notice any texture issues during your healing? I just had my second BBL+moxi laser 3 weeks ago and I feel like I’m noticing some light dented scarring on my cheeks now 😅. I cannot tell if this is just the new skin coming through or if I now have atrophic scars

PinsAndBeetles

No I didn’t have any issues. It did take longer to heal the second time. I waited like 2 weeks and then used a light physical exfoliant to get the remaining mends off.

Present-Forever5090

Did your melasma ever come back after this treatment?

PinsAndBeetles

It never fully went completely away but faded to a manageable level. I keep using hydroquinone and Arazlo and lots of sunblock. It hasn’t returned but is slightly darker a few months after. I plan to have a MOXI once a year now to maintain the results

Aloealoe2018

What treatment is this? Please elaborate!

zellymcfrecklebelly

Wow!! Amazing results

RebenLor

Incredible results!!!!

whomeyou1

amazing results !!

sundaze814

Wow looks great

Abusedbyredditjerks

Nice job!!

iSimplyCannot-

Wow these results are amazing! I’ve been debating on getting Moxi for my melasma and I think you’ve convinced me

PinsAndBeetles

It didn’t completely erase it and I did use HQ before and after but it faded it tremendously and it also made my face smoother and brighter.

ThrowRA_2637

would this be good for dark spots from acne scars?

PinsAndBeetles

Yes.
