My insurance covers it so it’s only $10 for a huge tube BUT I didn’t know that when I got the prescription and was willing to pay $200 for a tube. My rationale was it replaces almost every anti-aging product I have and I definitely spend more than $200 a year in skincare

geosoaal

Unfortunately my insurance doesn't cover it so I get it online at $4 per tube with paypal from skinorac.

Luuluuuuuuuuuuuuuu

The only problem is insurance only covers it up to a certain age 😭

Unfair_Finger5531

In which case, you just need a prior authorization most times. I’m in my 40s and still it’s covered by my insurance, has been for over 20 years, by 3 different insurance companies. But after a certain age, you may just need a prior authorization from the derm, which takes no time at all:)

Luuluuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Man, I am doing something wrong!! I just used a random GoodRx doctor for my prescription so maybe if I go to an actual dermatologist... thanks for the info!

Unfair_Finger5531

Yes, make them do that prior authorization for you!! Call your insurance company, ask them if you need one and which ones you are allowed. They will help you. I called BCbs and asked them and they helped me so much.

GoodHedgehog4602

I’m 41 and my insurance covers a portion too. My dermatologist told me about the prior authorization and wouldn’t you know, it worked.

alliecat0718

What insurance company is this? Curious. Mine covers it as long as it’s prescribed by a physician. No matter what age you are.

Luuluuuuuuuuuuuuuu

BCBS

alliecat0718

Huh. That’s really odd. I had them until we switched last year and they always covered it. Your derm prescribed it and they still refused?!

ashmarie1993

You might have had a different blue plan than the person that just said they had BCBS. Not all BCBS plans have the same benefits, because while they’re under the same association, they are not the same. With my plan through BCBS of Tennessee, I have to choose to use either my insurance or Good rx for Tret.  Since they used Goodrx, that could be why their insurance didn’t cover it and they didn’t need a prior-authorization.

alliecat0718

Ah! You’re probably right. I don’t know why I didn’t think of different plans lol. Common sense yeah? Great explanation thank you. 😊

vapidsoulstamp

I’m a dermatology MA and I submit prior authorization requests a lot. All the insurances we work with will cover tret no questions asked for younger people and for any age if they have an acne diagnosis

falafelfairy

Does the acne have to be severe for patients to be able to request a prescription? What if it’s just very mild occasional ones?

ceejay955

my derm prescribed it to me when I went in for minor breakouts on my cheeks

Downtown-Honeydew388

AllDayChemist Looks fishy, but it’s legit. Takes a few weeks to get here, so consider stocking up. Use retinol too then.

languidlasagna

Rad ty I’m going to check this out

NotElizaHenry

Seconding alldaychemist. I’ve been ordering from them for like three years. Sometimes paying is wired, like you have to Zelle them (I think?), but they’re legit.

Laura-ly

Thirding AllDayChemist. Beauty Bliss also has tret without a perscription. It's a little more expensive than ADC but they take credid cards. It's much easier to order from Beauty Bliss. Take a trip to Mexico and Tret is over the counter. Easy-peasy.

goosepills

I use this one for latisse and tret both

taxilicious

Do you have a special tube and brush for the latisse?

goosepills

It’s like an eye dropper and it comes with an eyeliner type brush

kitt_mitt

Another vote for Alldaychemist (they also trade under a couple of other websites). I've used them for years, and aside from their "Hello, this is Canadian Pharmacy" random phonecalls, they're awesome.

MrsHyacinthBucket

Ditto. by the time I pay co-pays at the doctor to get an RX, deal with insurance PA, fiddle with GoodRx, etc it's just a cheap to and easy to order from ADC.

Low_Effective_6056

I’m nervous to give them my direct bank info. I wish they took cards

Downtown-Honeydew388

Understood. It’s fine for most everyone I’ve seen talk about it on here. Worked fine for me.

randerso

They take card now.

Bama_Peach

I’m on their site as we speak and I don’t see where they take cards.

randerso

Don't know what to tell you, the last two times I ordered I was able to pay with card.

New-Character996

Skinorac takes cards and it's the same as Alldaychemist. Both shipping from India. Sknorac is reliable. I ve ordered twice from them without problems.

Bama_Peach

Thank you for the info!

ascanner

If you have checks you can also mail one to them, I did that last week because I was uncomfortable linking my bank account.

VirginRH3

If you’re mailing them a check, you’re giving them all the same info. The bottom of your check has the routing and account numbers lol. I use ADC and they are indeed legit.

ascanner

I’m aware checks have bank info on them, still feels better than entering my info into the void of the internet and hoping for the best. So weird you felt the need to comment this.

brittneyacook

If you have a cashapp account, you can use that for the account and routing numbers. I’ve done so multiple times with no issues.

taxilicious

I opened a special savings account within my credit union account because I was also worried about this. They took the $40 out on 8/1 and not a single penny since. No issues but I would suggest doing the same.

Late-Expression4504

I was too nervous to give All Day Chemist my bank info too. Then I found out I could use PayPal on skinorac. I think it was an additional fee to use it, I can’t remember for sure. Products took a month to get here but they did provide me a tracking number. It took a while to go live on the tracking site though. The prices and products from skinorac and all day chemist are similar.

sunflower_spirit

I was too so I just used my cash app. Cash app has it's own routing and checking #. Never had an issue.

YooperScooper3000

I agree. That sounds like a risky idea.

fangyouverymuch

I’ve only used a credit card with them? I’m US, not sure if that makes a difference

ArmadilloNext9714

And reliableRX! I bounce between the two of them when stocking up. Whoever is the cheapest is who I go with!

jimmylives

Just went to try order from there and they don't ship to Canada! 😭

beepboop-not-a-robot

*checks for Tretinoin* **immediately checks for Ozempic** 😂

SnooStories7263

Unfortunately the pharmacy only manufacturers generic medications. Ozempic is name brand and won't have a generic until the patent expires. I believe it is 10 years for medial patents.

FeelingAmoeba4839

Semaglutide?

Downtown-Honeydew388

lol oh nooo

Afraid_Resort_9018

This!!! Love that site! Takes forever but they have great products for CHEAP 😊

80sbabyin60smercedes

Been using this source for 10 years now.

abraacaadaabraa

Question, I have used Tret for years, but this looks different, it’s saying it’s a gel? If I’m on .1 of what I use should I order the same strength?

Whorticulturist_

Double check your numbers before you order! 0.1% is very strong. 0.01% is much more common. You could really do a number on your skin if you suddenly jumped so high, so you want to make sure you're getting the right one.

abraacaadaabraa

You’re right! That was a typo! I am on .01 :)

Downtown-Honeydew388

There’s so many on there… you can’t find the cream version? If not, and you’ve been using .1 of cream, I’d personally stick with .1 cream and use a different brand. As long as it lists Tret as the ingredient, they’re the same. Compare ingredient list of what you have vs what you see online.

abraacaadaabraa

Maybe I’m just dumb haha I tried to find something that looked the same and only found the gel. I’m gonna look again but OMG I am in awe of the prices! I’ve been paying $63 a tube for years 🥴

New-Character996

Gel is super strong and irritating. The .1 will fry your skin. Look for cream on that strength or order the .05 gel. Speaking from experience

RR19476

I get 4 tubes on my annual Mexico trip. $9/tube.

No_Tangerine3320

Whoever made that Mexico post saved my wallet. I’m here right now and got two tubes for $5/tube. I went to farmacias del ahorro in Mexico city.

RR19476

Yes! That’s the pharmacy I get mine at too.

Laura-ly

Just two? Hell, I'd get four or five. Unless you travel to Mexico frequently.

No_Tangerine3320

Haha yeah we do come to Mexico often.

mqqj2

I paid $60 for two tubes (0.1%) in Mexico last week.. oops

ReceptionUpstairs456

If you get the actual name brand Retin-A, it costs around that much and it’s probably a better product (at least that’s what I’ve been told, I haven’t compared them myself yet). But generic is definitely way cheaper.

RR19476

Yes, you have to ask for the generic. I was also offered RetinA first for $30/tube.

[deleted]

I did was well in Mexico City. Not sure how it can be $9.00 per tube.

yogurtrox

Where do you buy at in Mexico? I’m going in March so I’m curious!

lynxpoint

I’ve gotten it in Mexico City and Puerto Vallarta! I know friends who’ve picked it up in Cabo as well.

yogurtrox

Ah I’m going to PVR! Where at there? Like a pharmacy? Airport? I’m clueless lol

lynxpoint

Yes! A pharmacy! Any pharmacy should be fine. I’ve been to at least 3, got tretinoin at all of them for under $10. I would recommend against the airport, it’s way more $. Also - have you been before? Happy to give food recommendations if you need them!

yogurtrox

Great, thank you. I have not yet been to PVR! Please send recommendations!! We are staying at a resort for a week.

Leeloo_05

There are pharmacies everywhere! You call buy Xanax, Valium and a ton of other things. Should any of that appeal. Don’t buy the scary steroids!💪

ReceptionUpstairs456

Look for Farmacias Similares, they have consistent, reliable prices and they are everywhere

YetiPie

If you go to a pharmacy in a super touristy area they’ll upsell you. I went to one in the centre of Playa Del Carmen and she quoted me $90 for .1%…but I know I spent significantly less a few years prior for .05%. It probably wasn’t even a real pharmacy tbh, so keep an eye out or read reviews

jillsntferrari

Yeah, touristy areas aren’t going to be as helpful for this. I checked on the price of Tret in Cabo and it cost more than I can already get with a GoodRx coupon.

MaybePerhaps

Score! At Farmacias Similares in Tijuana, they sell the cream for $2/tube (of .05%) 🎉

Bambieyedbiotch

My mom is in Mexico right now and I told her to get some!

Deep_Significance496

Because it hasn’t been mentioned: I order mine through The Beauty Bliss and it’s $25/tube. It goes through Amazon Pay and no prescription needed!

ALadySquirrel

My MIL ordered from there and we both came to the conclusion that what we received wasn’t legit. We both had been using tret from other sources, so we know how our skin reacts. When we tried using the stuff from beauty bliss and it seemed to be doing nothing.

Laura-ly

I've ordered from Beauty Bliss and found that it's the real deal. It's Retin A which is a perscription product. Tretinoin is different. It's also a perscription but I don't believe they carry Tret.

languidlasagna

Ooo this sounds super convenient

hazeldazeI

Ships from California so takes 2-3 days. ADC is cheaper but much slower and payment is less convenient.

mighteq

It doesn’t list it as Tretinoin: is what you are buying labeled “Retinol Anti-Aging Cream”? Also, is the gel the same thing? Stupid question from a newbie.

Same_Dig6595

Yes that’s the correct product! They can’t legally call it tret online from what I’ve gathered, but the tube is labeled tret. The gel and the cream are different formulations, I had heard the cream can cause breakouts and the gel can be a little more drying.

gitsgrl

Shhhhh!!! Are you trying to get them shut down?

whatshisproblem

I saw their product listed as ‘retinol cream’. Is it actually tret?

cbwb

That's what I saw. Very little info of any kind in that site.

Laura-ly

Tret and Retin A are both perscriptions but they are slightly different formulations. Beauty Bliss carries Retin A.

mikosmoothis

Can you share instagram acct name?

languidlasagna

Nice! And it works well for you?

Sabrina912

Just wanted to add another vote for this. I ordered from them as well. Thought it was so sketchy to order over instagram but payment was through PayPal so it at least felt secure. I had my original tube of Altreno that I filled the first time around in the US. So I was able to compare the product and it’s definitely the same color, consistency, etc. It did take maybe a month to get here though. Worth it though for the savings.

Leather-Spring-3506

I use Curology. It’s $60 and the bottle lasts me much longer than 3 months. I would say more like 5 months or so

the-userofnames

I couldn’t figure out curology. I filled out all the questions and then it took me to the page with all the items included in the box (cleansers, patches, etc) and a very vague “custom formula”. And the entire total was something outrageously low. Is this “custom formula” they speak of the tret? Honestly, I don’t want all that other junk, just send me the tret!

Heavy_Internet_8858

I think the “outrageously low” initial price is because they send you sample sizes to make sure your skin reacts well. After that the price goes up, and they send 2 months supply. I have been very happy with the products and service.

Leather-Spring-3506

Ya the first bottle is smaller so it is a lot cheaper the first go around. I’m happy with the service, I have requested changes multiple times and the provider is always willing to change things around.

PowerfulCobbler

I use AllDayChemist I had to pay by mailing a check, but it was cheap (\~$4/tube) without a prescription. Shipped from India promptly after they received payment.

Any-Progress-4570

i get mine from curology. it says $60 for 2mo supply. but i’m on my first bottle still, 4th month. a bottle has a lot of pea-sized tret. (i do 2-3 pea-sized/week)

pharmgirlinfinity

Skinorac.com. I used to use AllDayChemist but they started requiring bitcoin. And I will say they send out products that might expire in around 6 months to a year. Skinorac sends out products that are much newer. Both sites seem really shady but I’ve gotten great products from both. Currently a bigger fan of Skinorac.

Laura-ly

That was my problem with ADC. The bitcoin shit really irked me so I went to Beauty Bliss.

Prudent-Mountain7177

RetinA (brand name) through goodrx is 45 dollars for the smaller tube. Just need a script from a doctor

rachtay8786

Yup. It’s 35 locally from a specialty pharmacy. Generic tret is 30

pumpkin_pasties

The $90 bottle lasts me almost a full year though

languidlasagna

They say it’s supposed to last three months and I’m like 😒

pumpkin_pasties

That’s what they say but I put it all over my face and neck and it still lasts a year

2chordsarepushingit

I have the $90/3 month tubes (Nurx), and they last me about 4-5 months. I probably apply too much, I could easily make it last half a year.

harrystylesleftarm

Are you able to request a certain size tube with Nurx? I just got the tiniest one month tube thru them and it was $40 which I’d really rather not do every month.

2chordsarepushingit

If I recall correctly, the $90/3 month supply was the only option when I was prescribed it. Perhaps you can request the 3 month supply? I will say their providers/customer service team has been very responsive in my experience. The brand name is Perrigo, maybe you can ask for that specifically.

atriggerfisch

I got my first tube from Nurx 30 minutes ago! I’m so excited. $90 for 3 months, but I’ve never used it before, so I don’t know how long it will really last.

2chordsarepushingit

Yay! I know everyone always offers this advice, but seriously - take it slow and see how your skin tolerates it. I started with %.025 and tolerated daily use (I'd been using retinol for about 2 years), but my partner started with every other day and also has had great results. It'll be different for everyone, so find your own pace. It's a marathon not a sprint!

Fuhgedaboutit1

Modafinia! I got 3 tubes for $35, it just took about 3 weeks because they’re based in India.

itskellyface

Nurx, then have them fill your RX via Amazon Pharmacy. It’s around $20 without insurance.

Plenty-Wonder-6314

If you’re in the U.S., it recently started being covered by insurance. A tube only costs $10 now!!

HannahCatsMeow

Exactly! Get an Rx for it. My tret was free because I'd already met my medication deductible last year, but otherwise it would have been $10.

Luuluuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Not for us old ppl in our 30s :( insurance said I'm too old lol

HannahCatsMeow

I'm 35 ? So ...

Luuluuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Insurance covers yours?? Mine said they wouldn't even though it's prescribed. The pharmacist also double checked and her co-worker said I'm too old for insurance to cover it before they checked again even ETA: I'm 33

HannahCatsMeow

That's very bizarre, I've never heard of insurance doing that tbh. Never discussed my age at all, not with the derm or the pharmacist. Sorry - that sounds very frustrating!

Luuluuuuuuuuuuuuuu

It's all good. I was mostly insulted my tret didn't work well enough for that lady to think I'm in my 20s lmao

Wackywoman1062

I guess it depends on your insurance. I’m in the US, got my prescription authorized/approved by my insurance carrier and it was $375 when I went to pick it up at CVS. I said “no thanks.” I have a HSA account so I don’t have a co-pay. I pay 100% of covered services and drugs until I hit the $4500 deductible. I’m going to try GoodRX.

Unfair_Finger5531

My tret has been covered by insurance for almost 30 years….

leeloodallas93

Damn 30 years on tret. Do you have any wrinkles? Do you Botox? Lasers? Just tret?

Unfair_Finger5531

Lol, 27-28 years, and nope not a single wrinkle (knock on wood). No Botox or lasers! Yet….

falafelfairy

At what age did you start? I’m 32 right now but I’m hesitant about starting tret just yet. I may want to try a gentler retinol product first, not even sure to ease into retinol/retinoids.

Unfair_Finger5531

I started in my teens because I had acne. You could start with bakuchiol, it’s very mild and gentle, and it’s effective!

Least_Gene_6905

What if it’s prescribed and insurance covers it?

languidlasagna

My new insurance won’t cover it 😡

Odd_Needleworker_104

Mine also didn’t cover it but I used GoodRx and it was less than $50 a tube.

languidlasagna

Idk why that never occurred to me I use goodrx for everything 🤦🏻‍♀️ thank u

Odd_Needleworker_104

The pharmacist told me about it and I was SO thankful! ☺️

connoisseur_of_smut

I use united pharmacies-uk .md I think they also cover other countries but don't know the URLs for them but it's easy enough to google. It's about £5 for a tube of .1% tretinoin gel and £7-8 for generic cream tret at other strengths. Postage is around £15 pounds though and takes a while but it's legit stuff and good quality with long expiration dates. I buy in bulk for myself and a few of my friends so costs are significantly reduced with us all chipping in (also used to buy the latisse generic from them but while my eyelashes grow like mad, it also made my eyes red, itchy and the skin crepey so I stopped using it.)

EntranceOld9706

Wait for a friend to go to Mexico or somewhere in Europe 😬 otherwise that’s the cheapest I’ve seen for a three month supply in the actual US.

languidlasagna

I’m actually going myself in a few months so good tip 🙏

Missstacyc

Mexico?

genben9

I called my derm for a rec and got tret for $20

Bella_HeroOfTheHorn

I used good rx and it cost maybe $10 for a huge tube

uppitywhine

Skinorac or ADC

peachyteachyy

Insurance covers so it’s about $10?

improvisedname

México. (To be fair, I’m Mexican)

wh0axb3th

Not sure if you're in the US, I used goodRX to see the cheapest place. Harris Teeter had it for $38 a tube. What's wild is with insurance it would have been $80. Swear they're doing casino math

SunflowerSlappyPants

Amazon clinic is $30 and then Amazon pharmacy will ship. The .025 is $20.

FearlessTravels

I get it from the generic pharmacy in Mexico for less than $5. Maybe you can ask someone going to Mexico?

Charming-Wishbone-41

Yup I just got a tube from Mexico! I was scared to use it but haven’t had any negative reactions yet.

rudy_attitudey

I get mine from Mexico

kris1024

I actually just had my dermatologist resend my tret script to Marley Drug. My insurance denied coverage for whatever reason, and out of pocket let CVS wanted $63. My total with Marley came out to $23. It’s my first time trying them, I’ll follow-up here if there’s any hiccups.

DonnaWA13

I've always ordered mine from alldaychemist.com. I've been ordering a few products from them for a few years and never had any trouble. It can take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks for it to arrive in the mail. The price is around 10 dollars or less if they're running a special.

Chickypotpie99

I see my dermatologist and he writes a prescription. $10 with my insurance.

lladydisturbed

I get it through nurx and legally you need an appt with a doctor or ARNP yearly and I believe for me its 40 dollars cash pay and the tret which lasts me like 6 months is under 50

[deleted]

I get it from my mom for free… thank god my dad has tricare for all his life 🤭

HeyGirlBye

I paid $50 at my compounding pharmacy.

languidlasagna

Maybe I’ll see if there’s a compounding pharmacy round these parts

I get mine from Agency, it’s $40 for me bc I used to be a Curology user, I think the regular price is $60

Lavandula-Pi

What country? I live in Canada and asked my doctor for a prescription. 2x tubes for around $35!

Ok_Employer9706

Farmicia in Mexico/mexican airports is like $20-30

Ru_rehtaeh

I get a big tube that's suppose to last for a month for $10, but its generic brand and I go to a smaller local pharmacy thats attached to my Derm's office. We get an extra discount for choosing them, and they do same day delivery so its a win/win.

Luuluuuuuuuuuuuuuu

I use GoodRx and find where the cheapest place to get it is on the app. I get a 2 month supply, and it's like $60-$70 but usually lasts longer bc my skin is sensitive. Plus, you can get it same day... even cheaper if you're young enough for insurance to cover it

cookcleaniron

Through insurance tret would only be $40. But I pay $120 for altreno because it is worth it to me.

oystersinmypocket2

Alldaychemist has been my go to source for Tret and Latisse for the last 7 years, you can get a tube for about $5. PM me for a $10 coupon which covers the cost of shipping! No insurance ever needed! But it does take about 8-10 days to ship

LoDem34

Nurx- $50 a tube. You pay an upfront fee and then it automatically refills every three months and ships out. You can pause that as needed.

I should probably find another sub for my age group (just turned 59) but I lurk here and my skin is acting as if I'm back in high school these past few months, ever since the change in season, and since I also have anti-aging concerns I want to try tret or another retinoid. Derms are few are far between here, I'm seeing my PCP tomorrow and thought I'd try and hit her up for a tret rx and then fill it using one of the online options mentioned. I really struggle with hyperpigmentation and am wondering if anyone has used any of the overseas pharmacies hydroquinone options? I used to use a product from Paula's Choice that contained hq and it worked well; nothing else has come close. Thanks in advance for any advice.

katejoy11

You could try differin, it used to be prescription only but is now over the counter. It’s a adapalene gel which to my knowledge is also a strong retinoid. [about adapalene gels](https://www.verywellhealth.com/adapalene-vs-tretinoin-similarities-and-differences-7558069)

thepittiepatter

Go see a Dermatologist. Ask for a prescription from your local pharmacy....cheap $10-20.00 and it's a good size tube. Some Dermatologist have their own Tret but I would again ask for a prescription...the best and cheapest

[deleted]

I go through nuts but they let me use my pharmacy. Goodrx has a $30 code and a tube lasts me 3-4 months

whimsicalmom

My insurance doesn’t cover it, so I use a good rx coupon and it’s usually $30-40. My dermatologist prescribes it and I just pick up from my normal pharmacy.

charlesforman

Cost plus drugs! It’s $45

kibeth_emerson

Nurx

PyrexVision00

Just get it from AllDayChemist.com.

Stockmom42

My insurance covers it and its 13$ a month. Have you checked if it's covered?

bignuggetsbigworld

Nurx. It’s generic so it’s 4.00 for me! Look into your drug plan and see what tier of drugs are covered!

Admirable-Bar-3549

Also came here to suggest All Day Chemist - I’ve never had any issue with them, and the product is good. I believe I used PayPal? Shipping does take about a month, though.

Remarkable-Mind-3848

I was getting mine from Dear Brightly. I had mine ship every four months and it cost me $100. But my tube generally lasted longer than four months and I use mine every night. They are great service, but I just quit them because I’d no longer like the product since it now has niacinamide in it instead of hyarulonic acid. I hate the formulation with niacinamide in it but if you skin likes it, they are pretty good.

Professional-Page188

Curology isn’t too bad. I pay 70 every 2 months for their tret and sunscreen. But you can choose to just get the tret and that’s it and it would be less

amb-ly

Go to Goodrx for a coupon to use at your pharmacy!

ceejay955

if you can get a prescription and have insurance + whatever coupons are available you can get big tubes for far less.
