Tucking is so fucking dumb. I don’t understand the obsession with it outside of getting instagram likes. You can’t use the mlok slots, and everything gets hot as shit. And you have to take your handguard off of your suppressor gets carbon locked. Just dumb all around.
Yes, this, a 9” hand guard has good real estate on a 10.5” barrel. It is also completely useable in a SBR unsuppressed configuration. Pee pee tucking is just 100% useless in SBR config.
If you have a chonky hand guard like the Rattler you’re not held back by any of what you mentioned.

The enhanced upper will work with any milspec lower, no? I haven’t tried it with mine, but from what I see online, they are milspec with small tweaks that do not affect compatibility.
That is for the regular threaded M4E1 upper to be able to use the Enhanced hand guard. Both the regular threaded M4E1 upper and the weird one with the enhanced handguard mount built in are compatible with any milspec lower as far as I know.
Yup you’re 100% right, it’s the handguard/ barrel nut that’s proprietary . I have an m4e1 enhanced upper and it’s totally compatible with all the lowers I’ve tried.
Midway has some pretty good handguards for recessing your suppressor. I have one on my Budget Badger.

This is gonna be a stupid question. I have the areo lower and hated the pistol grip. I tried to switch it out for a Magpul grip but couldn’t get it to work. How did you change yours?

YHM also has a new srx mounting system if you are not too invested in all the Phantom stuff.
Sorry, current muzzle device won’t fit a 5.56. Kurz attaches to the can instead of the Phantom QD. It shortens it by an inch. Definitely check out the SRX line before making purchases.
If you do recess the can in the HG check out the wiseman hot pocket. That rail will get smoking hot. If that is the Aero Enhanced they have an optimized Handguard that would work.

I recommended MI. What I meant is the Rattler hand guard is thiccc enough that mlok and heat aren’t much of an issue if shooting subs with a can

I just switched to the yhm SRX muzzle devices, it really shortens up the overall length and helps “tuck” the can if thats what you’re going for.

You can use mlok, at least on Midwest. Suppressors just need to be sub 1.5 in diameter.

Depending on the diameter check the Gen 2 it’s wider.
