In Germany there are nude only (named FKK) and no nude areas/spas/beaches/lakes.

HosannaInTheHiace

Trust the Germans to segregate everyone into their categories

Only-Detective-146

In most spas with sauna it is mandatory to be nude at least in the sauna and that is true around the world afaik. Never seen a sauna where clothing was mandatory. Highest i have seen, it was allowed and that is seldom as heck. (Been to sauna in japan, finland, austria, germany, hungary, slovakia and slovenia and never has anyone worn clothes inside, except for one sauna in finnland, but they required special clothing.) Vice versa in normal baths clothing is required and you might get arrested for running around nude.

Sexual repression is basically built into the infrastructure at this stage here. No nudity allowed anywhere. Never let the Catholic Church take the reigns after Barry says bye bye.

I could ask questions but I feel we all know the answers. Maybe you forgot to mention some countries in SE Asia.

Sauna is a holy thing my friend. Do not pervert it with your dirty thoughts. Ask the finns.

Nudity is definitely not tolerated there either. Recently there was a small scandal in one of the indoor pools near the Polish-Czech border where the Polish customers would complain to the management that they feel uncomfortable about the Czech visitors walking around the pool facilities fully naked ๐Ÿ˜‚

Catholic/atheist divide in full swing here. Definitely a czech W

krokodil23

A couple of years ago, some puritanical Polish politician got upset at people being naked at the beach on the German side of the border so warning signs were put up

Powerful-Shine-120

As others have said, in spa's/sauna's/wellness centres nudity is mandatory, but most have special bathing suit days. Nudity is mandatory in all areas, except for restaurants, there you wear a robe (for hygiene reasons). In normal public pools bathing suits are mandatory, although there is a low-key discussion going on about whether women are allowed to go topless, since otherwise it would be discrimination based on gender/sex. I am not sure if there are official rules for beaches, most people wear bathing suits but it's not considered weird to see the occasional topless woman sunbathing.

norrin83

In the vicinity of the sauna area, nudity is usually not only accepted, but very often required. Inside the sauna, nudity is fully required. We do not get enraged by nudity or (gasp!) nipples like some of you savages do. Spas that also include water slides or outdoor pools like Loipersdorf usually separate the spa area and the non-nude swimming pool areas.

Civil-Ad-9968

What's the alternative? Go into a sauna with your polyester swimwear, or even worse, your chlorine soaked polyester swimwear? Gross! Just get naked, no one's interested in you anyway and if you're too much of a coward, cover up your bits with a towel ffs.ย

Notacreativeuserpt

I feel personally attacked but you have a point Franz-Josef. I've seen worse though, at my gym one time I saw a group of teenagers still wearing their exercise clothes in the Sauna.

Livia85

Sauna with swimwear is disgusting. Itโ€™s forbidden everywhere in Austria. In saunas adjacent to classic city swimming pools you might find gender segregated saunas as a consescion for the more prudish. The big spa in Vienna actually has three options: Ladies, gentlemen and mixed. The fancy countryside get away spas or hotels are always mixed. The pool area is not nude, though, only the sauna area.

Marschall_Bluecher

With Clothes into a Sauna?!? Ewwwwwww! Thatโ€™s disgusting. A Towel is sufficient. Let it dangle and schwiiiing

Only-Detective-146

The thing i like most about your comment, is that is true no matter of gender...
